@@2babutterfly - I too am taking it easy today after yesterday's damage. I overate and paid for it most of the night. It's my own doing as I did the planning & cooking and we stayed home. I may never learn; it's the grazing that did me in and I need a better plan next time rather than just calling it a "cheat day". I'm really only cheating myself. Today's meals are light and satisfying and maybe I'll get some sleep tonight. I also want to hop right back on track to prevent the binge mentality from creeping back in on me. I've got over a month of healthy eating days strung together, I'm feeling better, and I can tell I'm losing weight. Today's positive - I'm positive I don't want to overeat on super bowl goodies again today. We have our usual Monday night group at church. Not sure what they're feeding us, but I'll choose wisely. That will certainly be a positive! We need to hear from some of you!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Here's a snack idea that I live by...take the Joseph's Heart Friendly pita bread, cut into chips, spread on baking sheet, spray with Pam, sprinkle with salt & pepper or dried herbs & spices, bake at 350 until golden brown. Pita chips! They work in all of your dips, Soups or stews, or as a snack! There are six pitas in a bag. I do them in batches and store in sandwich bags so that I grab them instead of chips. Let me know if you try it! Each pita: 70 calories 2 fat 10 carbs 4 Fiber 0 sugar 6 Protein Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Today's positive - having the knowledge, thanks to my band, to help out a friend in need. She's on a crash/fad diet (and knows I don't approve) and feels so yucky. I went to the store, got her some Powerade zero, and delivered it to her. A couple of hours later, she texts saying she feels better. Had I not had my band, and the experience of working with a dietician, I wouldn't have known the importance of electrolytes and been able to help her. @@bacon - Been there, done that. How can I help? Well, @@2babutterfly - it sure is good to hear from you!! All is well here. Had a meeting at church last night and they fed us, which can be a trigger for me to eat the wrong things and/or too much. Thankfully, it was BBQ and I was able to eat reasonably. I stuck to small portions of two sides and about 4 oz of meat. Calories, carbs, and Protein - CHECK! My positive is that I made thoughtful decisions in that situation. I've switched over to only eating out of a one cup Pyrex bowl, and using only my mini forks & spoons, here at home. I'm still surprised that a cup of food satisfies me for about three hours. It keeps me from overeating and bingeing, which is a win all in it's own. How is everybody??? What positive choices are you making each day??? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How is everybody doing? I'm well and all is good. Had an impromptu date night yesterday. Shared an appetizer and split a sandwich, which counts as my daily positive. Today's positive - told my husband that we were going to have to cut back on our Saturday morning fancy coffee dates. I don't need the calories and sugar and it's $10 a pop. He agreed and we decided to do Saturday mornings at home, at our own kitchen table, so that it has a date feel without the calories and expense. We will go for a fancy coffee date once a month now. I also spoke with the barista (it's a locally owned shop that we frequent) and she and I are going to experiment with some sugar free options. Woo hoo! Even with the coffee, I took it easy today on other eating today and came in about 200 calories over. Carbs were off the chart, but will be right back on track tomorrow. So, there you have it. It was so good & I wanted more, but it wasn't worth the guilt of overeating. Today's positive - I've been home today with little to do. Didn't post my positive yesterday, we help lead a marriage group at church on Mondays and I got busy with that and then getting settled at home afterwards. While at group, my positive took place. We had boxed sandwich meals brought in and I made the conscious decision to eat only half of the sandwich and be satisfied. It worked! I ate half of my sandwich, the sides, and was completely satisfied. I stayed within goal of calories, Protein, & carbs. No guilt, no binge, and a perfectly enjoyable meal. What positive things are happening with you all? Come on, let's motivate and encourage each other. We don't have to do this in isolation and I need you guys! Hello all!! Today's goals were met - calories, Protein, and carbs. Still a total slacker on exercise, but I am trying to at least move more. My positive - I plan daily for three meals and a snack, but skip the Breakfast lots of times. That leaves me way too hungry by lunch. Today I hit my goal of three meals and a snack and felt better for it. How's everyone else doing? Sounds like a plan @@bacon! Hope those liquids settle your band down. As you know, giving it time to heal is very important and can also kick up weight loss, so use this time to your advantage. You can do it!! Yesterday's positive - my local bakery had an open house and my daughter and I stopped by to check out their new store. I had planned for a treat, so I had a few miniature sweets and stopped. No guilt and no deprivation made it even sweeter! Everything was logged and while my carbs were a little higher than usual, I stayed within calorie and Protein goals. Win! I made a Soup yesterday that is very filling - lots of Fiber, decent protein, and low calorie. It's got lots of vegetables, no meat, and a base of tomato juice. I had it for lunch yesterday and it certainly was filling and a way for me to get in vegetables, which I don't eat a lot of normally. Google "magic weight loss soup" - terrible name - if interested. You know I want to hear it and hold you to it. Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I had a sick little (migraine) and then we had dinner with friends last night. Yesterday's positive - we went to my favorite local pizza place. I ate my planned portion and stopped. I wanted more, could've eaten more, but I would've felt too full and very guilty. Instead, I enjoyed conversation with our friends and came home satisfied and feeling strong. Everything was logged (prior to going out) and I was within calorie, Protein, and carb goals. Today's positive - I was out unexpectedly at lunch time today with no hope of getting home soon. My daughter and I had some errands to finish. Same here on the binging, we are in similar situations with that. I after a year, I finally came clean with the dietician about it last week. @@bacon - I'm here!! I'd welcome some accountability and will also post. I've GOT to do better on exercising. Ugh. Today's plan: 1/2 Power Crunch bar lunch & Dinner: chicken tortilla Soup 1/3 c shredded cheese Homemade pita chips I may or may not post food everyday, but will at least post what's going on and one thing that went well. My dietician, who I still speak with monthly, has me less focused on tracking and counting and more focused on eating small portions and being satisfied. I struggle more with the head hunger/binge thing than I do anything else. Thus, she wants me less focused to help prevent my whole good/bad or off/on mentality. We'll see... Can we agree to each share one thing that we did well each day? Let's try to focus on the positive!

Hello! I'm here, just delayed in posting. I'm with you on modifying recipes and controlling portions. My dietician told me to use the "real stuff" and limit portions, which is how I cook/live. I have one and two cup bowls and eat my meals out of them. I've gone through a spurt where I'm just not hungry. What a wonderful problem to have!! I haven't eaten much, if at all, over the last week and know I've lost. I'm not weighing in right now because I tend to let the scale dictate my mood, but I can tell in my clothes. I'll take it! Turkey and the usual trimmings here, but I'll stick to a bite of this and that. I'd love to hear about the sweet potato and pecan dish. Hope everyone is making it happen. Let us hear from you!!
