Hi, I am also five days post-op. I am sorry to hear your Dr's orders! I am going back Thurs- just one full week. But I am self-employed so I just have to. The only issue will be drinking all day but I can do that. I am a little weak, so we'll see. I've yet to fall asleep during the day though, which I am sure is a good sign. I've struggled with the gas pain too, but like you, it is getting better each day. I like the baby sippy cup idea. I am drinking from what I would think of as an adult sippy cup! Like the spoon idea, also. I will definitely do that. What kind of job do you have? I am thinking it must be somewhat physical for your Dr to order three weeks off.

Thanks so much. My surgery is in two days in the Atlanta, GA area. I have been so nervous. My husband is so supportive but I have still not been able to bring myself to tell my family, meaning my four older sibs and two parents. My parents really shouldn't know till after the fact anyway due to their health. I haven't told my family (yet) since I can't imagine never telling them. I just I haven't been able to bear the thought of dealing with everyone else's questions, fear, anxiety and ignorance pre-surgery. I wonder how many people feel the same way.
