  1. That is sad Coops. We come here to get all sides of the story. Please don't hold back from posting. I have learned a lot by reading your positive posts and the ones when you were trying to sound positive but the frustration came through. You are persistent and friendly. If that is not inspirational, I don't know what it.
  2. You have made my point. Thanks for your honesty. You are not fooling yourself into thinking you are not lying. It is simply the decision you made and that I can understand.
  3. I can't help you in regards to the medicine since I haven't had surgery yet, however you should seriously consider getting a different surgeon. Some posters here have changed at the last minute. An experienced and reputable surgeon is a must in my opinion.
  4. DoOver I disagree with you, but loved your post. It is great to be able to discuss this topic in a friendly, respectful manner.
  5. I agree that everyone should decide whether they want to tell or not. However since most of us can't maintain weight loss by cutting carbs, exercising and increasing water intake alone, people will eventually figure out they were not told the whole truth. I am not trying to convince anyone to tell or not or insult Autumn Lily. Each person should do whatever they want. My point here is to state that in my opinion people will know, will talk and will think they were lied to.
  6. There is already a thread just like this one. It's a fun read. You might want to repost there. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/24180-what-made-you-do-it/page__pid__206123__st__40#entry206123
  7.:lol3: I don't want to drive myself crazy, so I plan on asking my husband to hide it and only bring it out 1 day a week. Could you try it and let me know how it goes?
  8. RebaC in my opinion you did the right thing by telling her about your surgery in the first place and offering help numerous times. The rest is on her as an adult. I just wish her irresponsibility doesn't stop you from helping others.
  9. I bought my daughters melatonin at Walgreens, so probably all other regular pharmacies carry it as well. It comes in different milligrams. Google to see what dosage is best for an adult. 1mg works for my 9 year old with Adhd. Her pediatrician recommended it.
  10. :hail: Tiffykins Like Veda, I also needed to know more about this topic. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have copied and pasted your posts so I can read them again and again.
  11. I will always be grateful to an old college friend for answering my question honestly when I asked about her weight loss. She could have easily made up a story, since she lives overseas and I only "see" her on Facebook. I have "only" told my closest friends and family members because I don't want to hear other peoples horror stories. After surgery I will tell the world. I hope I can help someone as my friend helped me.
  12. I am by no means an expert, since I haven't had surgery yet. I will share with you what I learned from Foxbins on this website, that might help you on the weekends. She eats on a schedule and everything is measured and weighed. If she is on the 1/4 cup a meal stage, that is what she will eat on every meal on every day. So she never "feels full, vomits, slimes, nothing". She simply eats what was scheduled & measured and that is it. No guessing, no listening to her stomach, no nothing. Therefore she never feels hungry nor sick. Typing this just made me realize that this is how I feed my dog and that is probably why he is the only Basset Hound in the world that is not fat. Foxbins, if I misunderstood you or I am putting words in your mouth/keyboard please forgive me and correct me.
  13. Wow, am I the only one that doesn't see anything wrong with what Catracks mom said? Lots of moms tell their kids "be sure that this is what you want to do" when major events are about to happen. She also acknowledged that Catracks doesn't take things lightly. That's a compliment in my book.
  14. Try calling a few bariatric surgeons in your area, some support groups accept other doctors patients.
  15. OH MY! Thank goodness!!!!! I am relieved for you! Congratulations!!!! :bananajump:
  16. Congratulations! I hope to join you in November.
  17. Despite my sister in law being a 6 year success story with RNY, I thought I could lose and maintain doing Weight Watchers. However on my last attempt, despite having the best chef, cheerleader and exercise partner in the world (my mom), I STILL failed. I resigned myself to be obese for life. That was until the day a friend mentioned she had the sleeve done. I researched non stop and knew right away I had found my answer. Haleluyah!
  18. Glad to hear you are doing well adavis!
  19. This is Kaisers step by step eating plan : http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/15469-diet-after-bariatricsurgery/page__p__131147__hl__%2Bbowel+%2Bsyndrome__fromsearch__1#entry131147
  20. I am so hearing you! I give away my "Express" coupons to my mom and sister since there is nothing there that fits me. I totally pictured you jumping up and down. What an awesome feeling that must have been. Yipeeee!
  21. I went back and forth between both pictures trying to figure out if it was the same person. You are doing wonderful! Can you tell us more about the scary part? Waiting less than 1 day before seeking help doesn't seem like a lot. What symptoms did you have? Congratulations on your weight loss and thanks so much for sharing your story with us.
  22. My first conversation phone conversation with the insurance coordinator left me a bit uneasy as well. I felt EXACTLY the way you are feeling now . A long phone call with the "office manager" (forgot her title) solved all that. She was fantastic and a VSG patient herself. I feel good about my initial decision and will stay. You might want to try that AND also go to the other doctor as the others have said. Let your insurance be unhappy. They just need to pay! :-) Best wishes!
