The Panera potato soup worked for me even though I am lactose intolerant. Wonder what happened to you. Their French onion soup worked for me too early on. No croutons or cheese and watered down because it tasted delicious but too salty. Ground beef, and eggs are still feel "heavy". I am 8 weeks out. I eat them, but I have to go real slow and that is very hard to do for me. Lastly my beloved Starbucks Chai sends me to the bathroom. Other than that, I've done good. Best wishes!
  3. I will definitely make this! Great website. Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!
  4. I just solved my problem with unjury unflavored as well! (I had been doing great with Protein until my 4th week.) For variety consider this alternative. 1/2 cup Orange juice , 1/2 cup Lactaid skim milk, 1 splenda, a little vanilla and a scoop of the Unjury Unflavored. ( No ice for me. ) I mix all ingredients except the Oj. Then I add the OJ and blend it some more. It doesn't curdle the milk this way. 1/4 banana or a few strawberries is yet another variety. (these are not my recipes- I read somewhere on this website) I think OJ is the key. I tried adding it to 8 ounces warm chocolate milk and could only drink half of it. I got too full and had that yucky feeling again. Let me know if you "discover" anything else. :-)
  5. I have what they call "underpronation". I need a good pair of tennis shoes for the gym, zumba etc. If I ever start to run, I would buy a different pair. Where can I go to be fitted? I need a place that can confirm my "diagnosis" of underpronation, so the staff needs to be knowledgeable and offer a personalized service. I don't know if the running shoe stores also sell cross trainers.
  6. Niiiice!!!! Congratulations!
  7. You are surrounded by chefs! Lucky you! :-)
  8. I had meatloaf and steamed sweet carrots from Cracker Barrel. Favoredone did you make the tomato cream sauce? If not, please tell me where to buy it. :-)
  9. Awesome accomplishment! We have very similar stats. I can't wait to get there. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I totally second this! Congratulations to both!
  11. I agree with happy1957 in regards to not picking a surgeon because he does the spider. I picked the best doctor (in my opinion of course) and he just happens to do the spider. I have a ton of scars already from previous surgeries, so a few more wouldn't have bothered me. Having said that I do think it is GREAT when a doctor is willing to learn new technology. My surgeon had already done a ton of them succesfully so I wasn't his guinea pig either. Some doctors stay stagnant and I wouldn't let them operate on me. I want surgeons at the top of their game. In the end I was THRILLED with the spider. I had absolutely NO pain, discomfort etc. No outside staples or drain. It is like it was not there. So like Kiki said, there is less places for it to hurt and I suppose less places to potentially get infected, bleed etc. I also didn't feel like I had done a ton of sit ups like many claim. Best wishes finding an awesome surgeon!
  12. I tried 2 grilled buffalo wings for the first time on week 7. They were not hot or breaded. However I have read here that lots of people do not have trouble with spicy foods. It hurt at first because I forgot to slow down and chew. After I paused, it went down well.
  13. Sorry you missed my posts. One the things I said was that everything turned out so moist I was able to eat 2 ounces of beef plus some veggies for the first time! The aroma in the house is incredible. I will season the meat for 24 hours next time. Please give us details about the latin pork one. I have enough pork to make the pork and beans and this one. I will soon make these Moroccan meatballs. I will let everyone know if they are good. http://www.cookingch...cipe/index.html I am LOVING this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again!
  14. My surgeon uses the "spider" (navel) and he explained it to me in advance and answered my questions. He also has a video about it on his website. I wouldn't do it open! No need for that anymore.
  15. Yay!!! Did you do anything different or was it just time? or both?
  16. Not premature at all! It's great to meet the people we "talk" and depend on so much. I met Christin a few days ago while she was at the hospital and someone else a few months ago before my surgery. :biggrin5:
  17. Hope to give you this hug personally if we meet next month. This surgery will work for you. You are probably starting the infamous 3rd week stall. I just had a 17 day stall and I am back to losing. Keep on breathing in and out S-L-O-W-L-Y. :-)
  18. A ton of my posts got erased. Not sure if you saw the one where I said I made the beef tagine and I agree, it IS the most perfect meal for us sleevers. At least for me! The meat is soo tender! Thanks to you, I have used my tagine THREE times this week! Thanks! PS. I will make the pork and Beans next! :-)
  19. It was great to meet you! :smile1: Have a good trip back home.
