  1. If it's what I had it's a muscle thing that happens to some. I was only ok if I was lying down. I was told to double up my dose of pain medicine and REST. Also, wear the girdle thing. It took about 2.5 weeks to go away. The key is to REST. I'll say it again. REST. It will go away.

Thanks so much for the advice! I never thought about wearing a girdle but I bet that would help! I went in today and got some shots in my stomach area to numb the pain. I was told that the shots would last anywhere from 6 hours- 2 weeks. Unfortunately, they only lasted 2 hours! I did get my pain mdeicine refilled and that is taking the edge off of the pain. I was also told to use a warm heating pad but to cover it with a towel. :)

  2. I broke down and called the on call nurse last night about 11:30pm. She turned around and called my surgeon. My surgeon called me back. When I told her about the ibuprofen, she told me to stop taking it. So I have. I started back on my Loritab last night. The first dose did nothing to help the pain. This morning, I took my second dose and.....RELEIF!!!! I am so happy! She did inform me last night, that it takes several doses sometimes to help. She was right! I am so happy and sooo releived!

I forgot to add that I am still going in to see her this afernoon!

  3. Ibuprofen already? I know every place is different but most surgeons I have heard of expect patients to stay away from it for a few months at least. My surgeon won't let me take it at all.

Anyways, good idea going to see the doctor in the morning. I had pain for months at my largest incision, it was enough to put me in tears many times. Never had any pain at my drain incision though.

  4. I am so worried about this severe pain directly under my drain tube site. It only hurts when I walk. No pain when I am still or sitting/laying down. The pain is so sharp and is so intense that it almost brings me to tears. I have quit taking my Loritab and haven't had any for 4 days but started back on it tonight. I got up out of my chair about 30 mnutes after I took the Loritab, thinking that it would help with the pain but it didn't. So now I am on here trying to look up what could possibly be wrong with me. I looked up info on gallbladder symptoms and the only related symptom I have is the sharp pain under the right rib so i am hoping it isnt that. I am scared. I was self pay because of no insurance. I am self employed and can not miss any more work. I had called my doctor's office Monday morning after having a rough weekend. I was told to try ibuprofen and if I didn't get better, to call back on Wednesday. I will be calling at 8am in the morning.

  5. OK, I am a little worried about the pain I am still having . I called the doctor's office yesterday and was told by the nurse to try ibuprofen and if I don't feel better by mid week, to call back. Does anyone have severe, sharp pain underneath their drain tube site. I have no signs of infection and have kept very good care of the area. In fact, the nurse told me to to quit doing so much to the site and just apply neosporin once a day.

    I am weeks post op.

    Thanks for any advice!

  6. Does anyone know how much we are allowed to lift 1 week after surgery? I run a daycare and have to start back up 1 week after my surgery date. My mom will be here to help so I won't be alone but I really don't think I will be able to stand having her here for anything longer than a few days. Don't get me wrong, I love my mom but we both do so much better with a little distance between us...lol!

  7. I am having the Vertical Sleeve surgery done on July 11. Am I scared? Yes definately ... but the final results are worth it. I have fought this 2 week liquid diet for only one week now and there are days i think I'm going to go nuts, is it really the food or the fact that I can't have it? Actually, sacrificies will have to become a main part of My "new Skinny life".

I too have young children and I fear the typical questions of a general antisetic. But everything will be worth it in the end. I have struggled with weight, now diabetes, for far too long. I am ready to make change and will keep all you others in my prayers as well.

I am seeing Dr. Fearing with Malley Weight Loss Center in Overland Park, KS So far so good!

I, too, am having the sleeve surgery on July 11th with Dr. Fearing and Dr. Malley! I have struggled with the liquid diet. I have found that the Carnation sugar free instant Breakfast drink is really good! I do have to admit that I have cheated a bit but am seeing results!

I look forward to meeting you in 1 week!
