    What's Your New Addiction?

Click is a Protein powder..just google it. My addiction is shopping and window shopping/combined with looking at fashion mags. I loved fashion before I got fat and wanted to be a designer at one time. Unlike many I never had a emotional bond with food.

How Do I Set A Goal?

My normal was 150. I wanted to be 5 below that. I hit that goal in Feb. I am now 119. I just let my body pick a stopping point. I figure we will gain 5-10 pounds as we raise calories and eat a bit more with time.

    Loose Skin Video

Thanks. I'm 11 pounds thinner and should do another skin video. I think I look a little bit better--not sure. I don't want to lose more. My mission now is to maintain and build muscle. Stay positive, positive thoughts, energy and efforts DO make a difference.

    African American Sleevers

They're not shallow? LOL I will say that my man is. He has ALWAYS made fun of flat butt chicks. He is very adamant about liking "thick" shapes. We have beem married 19 yrs and I have not been this weight in 18yrs. My rear needs some lifting and weight training will help but I no longer feel the need to conform to a certain look to please someone else. I think it comes with me turning 40 soon and I am at that age of "self contentment".

    African American Sleevers

I don't think anyone said black men want fat women BUT they on average want shapely women, moreso than white men. I have been thick, fat and now skinny at goal. I got the most play at "thick" My husband liked me better at 155-160 and I am 5'5 pear shaped. That was not my goal and I am currently 130-135 and a size 2. At this point I don't gives a shitz because I am happy and I have out my needs first. I was not willing to still be at risk for ANY disease because I wanted big hips and a big azz. Everyone will make the choice that makes them happy though but I see wayyyy too many black women choosing to be thick for thier "man".

  15. smh!. umph! Neckrolling...side eye. No you didn't. Girl. Get in touch with me. I LOVE window shopping : ) We can hit up Wheaton Mall, Columbia Mall Arundel Mills--shoot Rockville.. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk.. People get a sleeve and act like they can't coordinate with somebody...lol Kidding aside 1. You are going to be down more than 2 sizes by then. 2. Check out Youtube OOTD videos. I love watching people put clothes and colors together. 3. Magazines, Marie Claire, Vogue, Glamour, Essence (sometimes), O Magazine, InStyle. I love that kind of thing. Know your body shape. and you can look up sites that recommend cuts for that body type. Undergarments are king and the proper fit goes a long way. Accessories! Dresses, Shoes! Locally I also check out Burlington Coat Factory-they have a lot of dresses this time of year.

    Nvs... Smaller Clothes

My goal weight was 145. I am currently 138. I want my maintenance weight to be between 133-139. Just keep in mind that it is normal to gain 5-10 pounds around yr 2-3. It is much easier to get it off now as opposed to trying later on. Other than that, yes you look great!.
  17. Well I started at 233 and today I am 138. I want to maintain between 133-139. I have been on various boards and only seen 2-3 people have trouble with the loss stopping. If anything, people tend to start slacking at the 6 month point and some bad habits start creeping back in. Then hitting goal gets tricky as you get closer to goal. I did not want to lose my "curves" but I also did not get my guts butchered to stay "plump". Hubby will get over it and I plan on using weights to define certain areas, also spanx and Victorias Secret will help out...lol I can only recommend that you go a tad under goal. The majority of people gain at least 5 pounds back around the 2-3 year mark.
  18. I used to be a 34b and I am right back there again. I am 5'5 and 138, I wear a size 4. Last time I was this weight (93) I wore a Juniors size 9--I'm guessing a ladies 6/8? not sure but sizing has changed. I did the same thing Lil did and it was cool. I have gotten addicted to going lower but hubby is starting to complain about my bones and in shopping I see fewer size 2's and below. I think I will be slowing things down after this month.

    Question About Goal Weight

The other ladies made good recommendations. Start with a number like 150 and see how things go from there. I will tell you that this sleeve ride is something else as long as you stick to the plan. I am small boned and 5'5. My goal was 145 and I made it last month. I am currently 139 and I am just going to see what happens betwee now and my 1 yr in June. My shoe size went from a 9 to a 8. Ring from 7 to 5.5 My whole body has shrunk!
  20. Premier pre-made shakes. I get them from Sam's. Its the only kind I like. I have a tub of Body Fortress in Strawberry at home that tastes gross.

    Jeans For Small Waist/big Thighs

I wear the Flirt jean also. ON I love them because I can get in a 4 there. I love /hate Levis. I tried on those "curvy" jeans. If you have an booty--no go. I tried on the 6 and the 8 and neither fit. I was not willing to try on anything bigger since my mood was ruined. I went to Kohls and tried on the Levis Classic fit size 6 and WHOLA! they fit over my thighs and rear. So you might want to try that style.

Was Anyone Healthy But Just Fat?

Don't get sleeved until you have the facts and information you need. I did not have "serious" problems I found out I had Gerd, and Gallstones. I was having knee and hip pain and a family history of diabetes and heart attacks. All my maternal (women) family members were big obese women and I was headed down the same path. I was 233 on surgery day and tired of yo-yo dieting. I was never a binge eater, I DID eat wrong and drink plenty of regular Pepsi though. Google the heck out of gastrectomy studies, VSG etc. The information is out there but you do have to look for it. I found plenty before surgery and it calmed my fears. Nothing 10 yrs out because the surgery was not routinely done 10 years ago. It started as a stand alone procedure in 2002. My grandmother had a partial gastrectomy in the 80's for stomach cancer. She passed but she had a multitude of health issues. Most gastrectomy patients need to stay on top of Vitamins and b-12. Other than that the surgery does not shorten your lifespan. I am almost 9 months out and lower than my goal of 145 (142 today). I have never spit up, I threw up 1x when trying to swallow a thick Calcium pill, I do not dump BUT at first sweets made me feel sick. I avoid anything too sweet as I have lost my craving for it. The "permanence" of the sleeve is what we want. No one on here wants to lose all this weight and have our old stomach back so we can gain more weight. The older sleeves were done much larger and those people did not maintain the loss-they had serious regain. The more modern sleeves do expand slightly and you can eat more at 6 months then in the early months. Sleeves don't explode and choose a competent Dr with a lot of experience and a low rate of complications. Also getting a lapband removed almost always damages the delicate stomach tissue and those people end up getting RNY, VSG or the DS because the weight will come back.
