Post-operative pain - is this normal?
Yep sounds normal to me too. I still have occasional pain like that. Who did your surgery?

I have 4 different outfits to wear. Just 4! Anything you have outgrown would be greatly appreciated.

3 days post op with a slight fever
I ran a low grade fever for the first 5 days. I remember feeling like the flu was coming on. I believe I was very dehydrated.

I lost myself to carbs today:(
I ate a bunch of chips today and enjoyed it every minute. I ate them and then tomorrow I will get up and go on with life as usual. It is what normal people do. We are now somewhat more normal. Enjoy the break and then move on.

How often did you change clothes sizes?
I started out in a 24 and at 3 weeks, I was a 22. Now at almost 6 weeks I am almost to an 18.

burning incision pain
I know what you are talking about. I have been going through this too and am surprised you are able to work. I have spent the last 11 days trying to sit and lay in the most comfortable position. My Doctor says it is the nerves growing around the scar tissue. I have tried pain meds, pain patches, heat, and ice. Nothing helps. She says I just have to wait it out. I feel better now but it still hurts but at least I can walk again.

What was your first month like?
Good Lord. That almost could have been my post. Week one I felt like death. I honestly felt like I had a terrible case of the flu. I went to the doctor for blood work and all was fine. She said I was dehydrated and needed to get my Water in. I really focused on it and day 11 I woke up feeling better. I went back to work a few days later as a Realtor. I held an open house and when it was done, I went to pull my signs and OUCH. I thought I had pulled something. According to the doctor it was the nerves growing around my scar tissue. I was bedridden for 11 days and was only not in pain when I laid on my right side. It was burning pain to even go to the bathroom. I was able to return to work yesterday. I went to a meeting that lasted 3 hours. 3 hours of sitting. I came home and took a 2 hour nap. However, my pain level is much better and my energy level is do-able. It is getting better. I am one month out on the 9th and down 30 pounds. I eat just fine. I actually went through a bout of being hungry all the time and I think it was due to my TOM. Now that that is almost over, I am not hungry like that anymore. I try to remember this: It only gets better. Right?

Talk Me Down!
Have you considered trying to make that favorite food yourself in a healthier way? It might take a few attempts to get it right but it could be done. I guess that depends on if you like to cook though. I wish I had better advice.

Post op nerve damage/pain anyone?
Thanks sweetie. Every day is a slow improvement but I will take what I can get. My little one asks me every day if my stitch is better so we can go to the park. I sure hope this is over my Monday so I can go to work. Also, I have a ton of family flying in for a visit in 2 weeks and my house is such a mess. Anyone want to come over and clean for me?

Physical Hunger
3 weeks out...and I am hungry right now! It feels a little different. More sharp and more urgent.

Post op nerve damage/pain anyone?
I actually feel a little better today. Not as painful to get up from a sitting position and I was able to take a shower. Still hard to walk but I am happy with the improvement.

Post op nerve damage/pain anyone?
I was told that it was the scar tissue growing around the nerves and that it could last for 6 weeks. I can't imagine living with this pain for 7 years and my heart goes out to you. In good news, according to the scales, I am no longer morbidly obese. Now I am just plain ole obese! I just wish I could stand up straight so I could see how I look and take my measurements.

Post op nerve damage/pain anyone?
I had to have a CAT scan yesterday because they want to check and make sure nothing else is going on. I am sure it will show nothing, especially because it cost me over $550 to do. It has gotten a tiny bit better but I am still non functional and am getting a little depressed. There has to be something out there that can give me relief from this and allow me to get my life back. I had to refer a client to another colleague today and may have lost out of several thousands of dollars in a home sale because of this... Not to mention that I hate referring my clients to someone else. I feel like I fail them by not helping them all the way through. Also, it is starting to take a toll on my marriage. This makes me really worried. It is very hard on the kids too. They have been taking care of everything because hubby has been working nights and lots of overtime and they have been stuck in the house doing nothing for 3 weeks. They are starting to crack a little.

When did you stall?
That is what I was thinking. Why sweat the numbers on the scale as much if your body is showing real progress? The scales will move eventually. I promise. I have been out from surgery 3 weeks and have only lost 9 pounds. I know my body looks better though and I hold on to that. Don't get me wrong, I want the scale numbers to go down but I can live with the tape measure going down until then.

Post op nerve damage/pain anyone?
I tried that today Globetrotter and it was a bad idea. It seems that my pain is worse when I walk. To the point that the spot hurts when it is even lightly brushed. Well the girdle just pushed in on it and cause constant blinding pain. I ditched it. However, this morning I am able to lay on left and right side. Previously only the right side didn't hurt. Left is still sore but do-able. It is also less painful to get up from sitting. Walking is still just as bad but maybe I am seeing relief around the corner?

Post op nerve damage/pain anyone?
I am on a Quest to find relief. My doctor said all the pain I am experiencing is nerve damage and that it could last 6 weeks. I can't deal with this for 6 weeks. I think I will go crazy. It is only day 5 and I am getting a bit depressed. There is so much I want to do but I can't. Has anyone experienced it? Extreme burning pain that feels like you are being stabbed with a red hot knife? I feel it when I am in any position except laying on my right side. I feel it when I sit, stand, use my arms, or anything except laying on my right side...and there is a sitting position I can get into. What did you do to help it? Did anything work? How long did this last? I was given pain Patches that don't seem to have helped much but there was not much else that could be done. Heating pads did not work either.

Burning, tugging inside belly pain
I was just wondering how you are doing. I have the exact same thing and was told it was nerve damage too. I am unable to do anything other than lay on my side. It is the only position I get any relief. I am so sick of laying around and want to get back to life. I can't walk, can't get in my car, can't shower or go to bathroom without pain. I hope it is passed for you now. I am on day 5 but it feels like years. I have a lidocane patch and it is not really helping. When the doctor told me it could last 6 weeks, I cried. I can't image being in pain like this for 6 weeks.

It is most likely nothing but Ouch!
I don't hurt as much as yesterday or the day before but that is because it is morning and I just got up. Showering was...hard. I am about to call Sandy now.

i cheated!!
I did that early out too and I felt sooo much better. I think my body was just happy to have some real food. I tried an egg too and had no issue but I have heard other have trouble so be careful with it.

Gas? Is it a pressure? I remember that baby under the rib feeling. It sucked.

Shame!!! Shame on me!
Are you kidding? I can't even get mine in!!! I am glad you are feeling better. I have been on almost a high as I watch my body get smaller with almost no effort of mine for the first time in over 18 years. It feels sooooo good!

Shame!!! Shame on me!
I think maybe a little but that is more like the way I felt when I failed yet another diet. I remember trying very hard every time and I just could not keep the weight off no matter how bad I wanted it so it was not just my lack of will power. You are on a tough day. I remember day 5 and it was a black one for me. You will be in a much better mental place soon.

Hotdogs?
I tried some the other day in beenie weenies. The beans were great but the hot dogs didn't taste good...but it went down. They have turkey dogs that are a pretty good choice healthwise...Check the label.

New pain question
Some of you might remember me mentions a pain under one of my incisions that hurt when I moved certain ways...hurt quite a bit actually inless I was in the right position. I called the doc office and they said muscle or scar tissue pulled. Well, yesterday I had a new pain in the incision next to it. It burns like someone is sticking me with a hot knife and there are very few positions I can get in to to relieve it. Walking, getting up, sitting, bending, turning over in bed...PAIN!!!! It even burns when I touch it. There is no swelling or redness but it is at the point where I will not be able to go to work tomorrow. I plan to call the doctor but does anyone have any ideas what it is and how I can help it? Why do these things always happen on the weekend?

Still Having Big Problems and I Need Suggestions
Ask your Doctor's office if they have any free samples. That is how I tried the Unjury. I don't think I would have ordered because I have dropped so much money on Protein and it would just kill me to spend more on something I hated. I don't know if I could add it to my water. I think the texture would be a huge turn off but ya never know. I eat things now I never thought were good before...and food I loved before is nasty to me now. If you try it, let me know how you like it in water.
