  1. i was banded on 7/28/11 and i'm only 'officially' at 36 pounds lost. i exercise at least 4 days a week (at least an hour to and hour and a half each time) and my band is filled to about 6.5 cc's. my dr. is hesitant to fill my band any more because he feels i'm doing fine. i, on the other hand, am frustrated beyond belief. i thought i would be at least under 200 by now, but i'm at least 7 pounds away from that. i know i need to exercise more but i thought that all my hard work would have kicked my weight loss into high gear. in the last 2 months of major exercising, i only lost 4 lbs. how frustrating! i do want to say that i'm so glad to have lost the weight i have, but i really wanted it to be more. :(

  2. i was stuck for a few months also. about three weeks ago i started working out hard - cardio, weights, pilates. i think i lost about 4 pounds. i was only banded in july, 2011 so i'm not that far out. i was hoping the weight would just kind of fall off (a fantasy, i know) but now i'm realizing just how much work i have to put into this. it's been a struggle, but i had to go back to eating lots of fruits, veggies and Proteins. i have a wedding to stand up in next year and i don't want to be the biggest bridesmaid so that's what made me get my butt back into gear. my laziness wasn't solved with my surgery. it's an everyday struggle that i'm facing, but i have wonderful support at home that's willing to keep pushing me along.

  3. It's been 13 days since I've been banded. The pain in my shoulder almost seems to be getting worse!! I haven't been able to sleep in 2 days and I've been feeling crappy. My doctor has prescribed me vicoden but I only took that for a few days because of the side effects. I don't have any liquid tylenol right now - does anyone have any tips on how to deal with this pain?? I'm at my wits end!! I woke myself up about 4:00 this morning with my whimpering in my sleep. HELP!!

  4. I was banded yesterday, July 28th. I am in so much discomfort, but most of that is due to the fact that i developed a cough the night before surgery (what are the odds!) Hopefully in about a week or so I can remember that it wasn't so bad after all, but being right in the middle of the pain and discomfort is not making me a happy camper right now. My doctor and the hospital staff were excellent and did everything they could to make it a successful experience for me. It's the gas and my cough that are bothering me the most. i will most likely sleep in my recliner tonight because laying flat hurts so much right now. It will get better...slowly but surely.

  5. Good Luck to u!! I am right behind on July29. I know I will have to take a sleeping pill- i will b too excited! Yeah i have 2 look at the night b4 diet. i know Clear liquids start at i think 8 pm and nothing after midnight. I am dying here on this liquid shake preop diet!! I WANT SOME FOODDDDD!!

i have my surgery on july 28th, so i am sooooo feeling your pain on the liquid diet!! last night i went out with some of my cousins to a concert at a county fair. the smells were KILLING me!! and it seems like on tv there is nothing but food commercials!! UGH!! but on the positive side, i have lost 21 pounds so far since i was approved for surgery 4 weeks ago. my doctor gave me an appetite suppressant and i was on that for 3 weeks, and now this week i'm on the liquid diet (with the suppressants that are NOT really helping). i just keep telling myself - 4 more days and i will be on the road to my whole new life.

  6. i am getting banded on july 28th (in 4 days). i'm in the middle of the 7 day liquid diet. i'm having a little bit of a rough time with it, but since i've been approved for surgery a few weeks ago i've lost about 21 pounds. :) it's making me excited for the surgery. i do not have a high BMI so i'm already seeing the results in how tight my pants are. i can't wait until the next 2 1/2 weeks are over so i can at least eat some pureed foods! haha!!

  7. Hi! My name is Devin and I'm married and have 5 kids. I'm so glad I found this website. I am having my surgery on July 28th. I am excited, but a little nervous about the liquid diet. I am also a little worried about the "low carbs" diet. I grew up on noodles, potatoes, rice and bread. It's the only way I know how to feed my large family. Does anyone out there have a large family and how do you cook for them? Is it easier to make a separate meal for yourself? Please help.
