Time flies...
Hi Beaglemamma, Thank you for your encouraging post! You are such an inspiration to all of us! My insurance company didn't pay for the lap band, but it paid 100% for the revision to sleeve...and I had no complications with the band other than poor weight loss. I think insurance companies like the sleeve and are paying for it more. Thanks again!!

Getting ready for surgery....
I was afraid, but now I just wish it was available years ago. We still go out to eat, I just eat some of my husbands or I take a doggy bag home. I don't snore anymore, hubby has lost weight, I have lost weight, I'm thrilled with my decision. Good luck to you!

4 days post-op and RAVENOUS....is this normal???
It will definitely change. Pureed foods helped me tremendously. Sounds like you might be having acid hunger. Did your doc prescribe you any acid medication? I'm on Prevacid Solutabs and they work wonders. Give your doc a call and good luck!

Who was your doctor?
Dr. Paya in West Hills. www.surgithin.com Had him for my lap-band and my revision to VSG. By the way, I had no complications with the band other than poor weight loss. Never had erosion or slipping. Love Dr. Paya!

Would you sleeve again?
Yes I would do it again! I went through a couple of weeks (before I could eat real food) of beating myself up for not being able to do it on my own without surgery, but once I could eat more normally I got over that real quick. The 34 lbs lost and being able to shop in the regular department now (no more plus size) has helped too. As for depression...what's that? I was on 450mg of Wellbutrin before my surgery. I took it the day before surgery and have not taken it since. I'm also off my hormone therapy and my blood pressure meds. The only medicine I take now is the Prevacid which I understand is temporary. When I get a headache 4 baby aspirin knock it out. I'm absolutely GIDDY!!

What's your favorite under 100 calorie snack?
Great post! I got a bunch of ideas too! Almonds huh? I need to get some of those! And low sodium V-8? My legs tend to cramp so if that's filled with potassium, I'm down! Thanks!!

Shopping in the back of my closet....
My size 20W pants are literally falling off so I was shopping in the back of my closet and found a pair of jeans my daughter gave me in a regular size 16 from Old Navy. Did you hear me say "regular"? And they fit perfectly! A little too long...do they have a surgery to make you taller yet? LOL Just giddy! Can't wait to shop in the other department! No more "women's" for me! Yippeeeeee!

Stall or my fault?
Hi Tracy, Check out www.fitnesspal.com It's a great place to track your food to find out how many calories/carbs/fat/protein you are getting. It's eye opening. Remember, any carbs you don't burn off will store as fat. Hang in there and try to eat more Protein and less carbs. Protein aids in tissue healing as well. You can do this...one step at a time. God bless...

Has this happened to you?
I think I heard it called "the foamies" too. These sleeves are curious little creatures!

How often do you see your surgeon?
Morning all, I saw my surgeon 1 week after surgery because I was having a lot of pain where my lap band port was removed (I'm a convert). Then he said for me to come back in 3 months! I can't wait to go back and show him all the weight I've lost and my appointment isn't until the third week of October! How about you? When does your surgeon want to see you?

I ate 2 Del Taco Tacos
Thank you, that makes sense. Then tonight I ate a piece of fish and got full really fast. Maybe crunchy tacos are a slider food for me.

I ate 2 Del Taco Tacos
There was about 10 minutes between the first few bites and the last few bites and another 15 minutes before the second taco. I didn't drink while I was eating...just before. Looks like I need to stay away from tacos if they are going to slide down like that!

Help Please? Wierd Sensation
Hi everyone. First thing in the morning when I take a drink of coffee on an empty stomach, I can feel the heat go down all the way to my lower abdomen. Same thing if I drink something cold on an empty stomach. I can't imagine I have a leak because I feel fantastic, have none of the symptoms, and can eat very little food (1/4-1/2 cup unless it's tacos). I only feel it on the first couple of swallows. Does anyone know what might cause this? Is the hot or cold liquid hitting nerves or something? And is anyone else experiencing it? Thanks
