    I Wish I'd Known...

I read this plenty, but I guess I refused to acknowledge it - surgery is just a TOOL. Weight is not magically melting off of me. Unless I work at this and eat like I should and exercise like I should, the sleeve is just a really expensive trauma for no good reason. Be prepared to work after this WLS.
  2. I track everything at 10+ months out. When I got away from doing that, I stalled - BIG TIME. My dietitian has me on 1200 calories, minimum 60 g Protein, limited carbs, but not a specific number. I feel much better since I've been tracking what I eat again.

    Below 200

Congrats! I look forward to being there.

    Cold

I am constantly freezing. Seems to be a common theme!
  5. Any kind of potato preparation other than mashed has been the cause of my vomiting probably 9/10 times since surgery. I've finally learned and stopped bothering with them altogether.
  6. I am in the same boat as you, Ms Scarlett! My surgery was January 23rd, and I've been hovering around the same weight for about three months, now. Entirely my fault - I've also been allowing Snacks to sneak back in and let myself slack on the activity front. I went to see my dietitian this past Friday and she gave me my kick in the a$$! She knocked me down to 1200 calories (which I have followed this weekend) and stressed an hour of cardio (even if it's just fast walking) 5-6 days/week. So, I'm doing that. One day at a time! Let's kick this holiday season's BUTT.

    Almost 9-months, now.

    Is It Working?

Everyone's normal is different. You sound kind of like me. I never had any problems getting things down.

    What Do You Fear Most?

    I'm terrified of regaining weight.
  10. I need to put myself on Diva's boot camp ASAP.

    Why Super Extra Vitamins?

I take two Flintstones Chewables with Iron daily (what my program recommends!). In addition to which I take Vitamin E and milk thistle (for liver function, at the recommendation of my liver doctor.... darn fatty liver!); fish oil; and Citracal Petites. I also have sublingual B12 for when I'm running low between my shots. Everyone's program is SO different. I wonder if there will ever be a standard for sleevers...

    I Hate Stalls! :{

Everyone's loss is SO varied... I'm 8.5 months out and down just over 80-lbs. It's such an individual thing, but so hard not to compare ourselves to other people on the boards. Honestly, I think that's why I've been away for so long. The 100-lbs in 6-month'ers were a mix of inspiring and maddeningly frustrating....
  13. Rather than keeping the old January (2011) thread resurrected, I thought it was about time to start a 2012 thread. I'm scheduled for January 23, 2012, and just got my official insurance approval yesterday. I am absolutely PUMPED about this surgery. I can't wait... I'm anticipating crazy nerves as it draws nearer, but for now, I'll ride the wave of excitement, thank you very much.
  14. Torched 540 calories at Zumba tonight. Party time. :D

    Where Are You 200+Er's?

I just hit my 50-lbs lost mark on the scale this morning. Yes, I did a happy shimmy dance in my underoos. Glad to see so many are doing so well. It feels good to be a nice, round, 25% of the way toward goal in just over three months!!!
  16. Passed the 50-lb mark today, finally. That's a boost!

  17. Almost 11 weeks out and so stalled it's not even funny. I feel like I can eat way too much (and have been), but am getting back to the straight and narrow today. Ugh.

  18. Fighting to break through 330.... going on a month, now.

    Where Are You 200+Er's?

My loss has been maddeningly slow. Since surgery, I've lost just over 20 lbs (it's been five weeks today). Four pounds a week is good, sure, but with as much as I have to lose, that seems light straight out of the gate! Best of luck, everyone.

    Washing Away Meds?

Thank you! I guess one of the biology classes I have filed away in my brain somewhere knew that... but I totally forgot.
  22. I have been bouncing around the same five pounds for the last two and a half weeks.... and I'm only a month out. How discouraging.

  23. Three lunchmeat and ultra thin sliced cheese roll-ups and I am stuffed. Hello, restriction.

  24. I went from barely eating 200 calories on my second day after surgery to surpassing 800 calories on my third day (yesterday). I'm intentionally aiming for between 600-700 today (everything is planned out for the rest of the evening). Truth is, I feel like I could probably just continuously graze on these liquid stage foods all day without having a problem. I got through 11 ounces of smooth curried red lentil Soup (with unflavored Protein powder mixed in) last night for dinner before I had a sensation of maybe having gone too far. That was over the course of a half hour, maybe 45-minutes. I don't feel like I have to eat, but everyone is so adamant about constantly getting food and fluids in, I feel like I should be putting something in my mouth most of the time... at least while I'm still healing! I have no problem getting in two Nalgene bottles (32oz each) of Water in a day in addition to this. I'm not set to move on from this stage of the diet until after my post-op follow-up appointment with my surgeon on February 7th. That's fine, I don't mind staying on the full liquids until then.... I just wish I could experience the restriction to reassure myself that this really did happen and really will help me get to where I want to be! I know this subject has been brought up a hundred times... I guess I'm just looking for those same reassurances fired off in my direction.

    Ok To Drive?

My surgeon gave the ok as soon as I was off of my narcotic pain meds for over 24-hours. But, if you're supposed to get an ok, I would call and tell them that you're off the medicine and have them say you're good to go.
