    In The Mood

Nice I can count the deed as much needed excercise.
  2. Well guys I saw my psych yesterday and he says the scared to eat issue is VERY common among wls patients. He told me about under eating actually being MORE condusive to developing a disorder as you can not sustain starving yourself and will eventually gorge or something. I was not undereating by much, just a little less but I didn't want any condition to develop. He told me we should take the time to truly recognize the changes that are occuring in our bodies, celebrate every pound lost even if it takes a month and tell myself that the old me is dead and buried and this new me who is working so hard to be healthy and stick around is all that matters.
  3. Thanks guys' its good to know im not alone in the feeling. I think with eachothers help we can get through this. Its just that cycle that most of us have probably gone through all of our lives lose 30 gain 50 deal. I feel confident that the sleeve is the tool I needed and I want to make sure its a success.
  4. likasulema your always welcome to jump in on any thread! It is something I think my psych should help me deal with. I guess as far as disorders go its not so bad to not wanna gain back weight
  5. Thanks for the reply. Like you said catching it early is good. 95lbs and still feeling fat thats scary.
  6. Hit the gym hard all weekend and only one pound lost! Guess its better than one gained.

    I Still Feel Hungry

Early out after surgery your body still has residual ghrelin(hunger hormone) it will get better. And I had no problem with fluids at first but as I healed my restriction got better and I am on the sipping slowly train.
  8. Well, I can't believe it has been a month already! I must say this vsg thing is probably the best decision I have ever made. All my health problems (impending diabetes, sleep apnea) are gone! I kinda knew it would happen but not this fast. My doc says I have lost more than double what he had projected me to lose at 47 pounds in one month! The best part is that I feel like I am no longer ADDICTED to food. I still see friends or family eating all those delicous, greasy treats and I really miss pringles for some reason, hmmm. But I don't feel like I NEED food like i used too. In fact I am never hungry. The biggest part was seperating cravings from hunger which I was never able to do. Im like a giddy little girl when 4 teaspoons of tuna (smart balance mayo) fills me up, its so weird. I used to eat like 5 pork chops and mashed potatoes so this is a big change! The biggest thing I wanted to say is THANK YOU to my VSG family. You guys guided me through the ups, the uncertainty, the nervousness and the fear. I feel like I want to be a success not just for my family and my self but all of you. Now Im gonna figure out how to change that ticker. 47lbs!!! PS; My pants fell down at work today. I think at the very least its time for a belt :blush5:
  9. I LOVED my hospital experience. I actually work in the hospital where my sleeve was done and it was fun having all the nosy people I know from there coming up to me asking me "what's wrong, are you ok?" Im not shy about telling people about my sleeve but I had to have fun with them and tell them I was there for a circumcision reversal. :biggrin5: I was nervous going into the OR, there is a lot of people in there and they didn't really have time to get to know you so It was like "hey how ya doing Im so and so and im gonna inject you now" When I woke up I was still groggy and the pain hit me hard when I wasn't sleeping but it was much better after the meds. My pain wasn't like someone hitting you it was more like pressure in the gut, the gas maybe. Anyhow after that I just had to deal with the dry mouth and THIRST. All of my pals from the hospital came by two at a time and I was the center of attention from a lot of pretty nurses. I was up walking as soon as possible. And happy that everything was a success and that after the waiting that one part of the journey was over and I was on to the next one. The only thing I would have did different was bring some chap stick.
  10. my toilet seats hurt my a$$ now! Go figure the things fat covers.

  11. Does the sleeve stop your stomach from growling? I can't remember mine growling in the month I have had it

You sure youre not pulling the old 'I got a headache routine?' JK. Im not sure if weight loss affects women's libido like it does us guys. I know they get a lot more flexible :biggrin5: . When we lose we replace estrogen(female hormone) with testosterone(man juice) it feels good in oh so many ways
  14. Realized that im probably gonna have to get lower than my goal weight to look like I wanna look. Gonna leave the goal where it is for now so I can get that feeling of accomplishment. Wish I was taller bmi would be like normal.

The Cons Of Gastric Sleeve Life! :-(

Yup. I loved drinking and eating together. After I eat now, Im watching the clock so I can get to sippin'
  16. Im a month out and still get this feeling. Its kinda like I can feel the food up to my throat. If I didn't have to eat I would skip it. Liquids go down just fine and im addicted to powerade zero now.
  17. I don't its common to not perform a leak test. My doc did one while he was inside and then the swallow the next day. From what I understand you would probably know if you had a leak from high temp and pain in left shoulder, but of course everyone is different. There is a thread on here for leaks you can check out and you can always go to the doc and tell them you want that leak test. Remember doctors can be cocky but they work for you

    That Last 2 Lbs........

If you are working out vary your routine. The body is a tricky beast and it can get used to your workout schedule and plan accordingly so you want "starve", it harks back to our caveman days. If you are doing cardio, switch to some weight training. I have found that a heavy leg workout with weights (largest muscle group in the body) will shed lbs overnight!
  19. thanks guys, you keep me motivated. Everyone who posted on a lost, Congrats! And you guys just starting trust me, it gets easier. Thanks
  20. WOW, You look AMAZING and your eyes are stunning. I would have never guessed you were over weight. Congrats!

    Update

Hello Guys, quick update on me. I am down 42lbs and though I have about 60 to go for my goal the difference is EXTREME. My bloodwork is all in the normal range from prediabetic and higher cholesterol i am taking stairs two by two and not even winded and if I can toot my own horn things in the bodoir are spicier than ever. I still have little to no hunger which is insane coming from a guy who was always waiting for his next meal. Im on mushies and the only concern i have had with eating thus far is that I have gained a touch of anxiety when it comes to eating. I always feel like I will gain back every pound whenever I eat, Im gonna talk to my analyst about that as I would hate to develop an eating disorder. All and all I couldn't be happier and im looking forward to my new future. I will post pics when I reach goal. Not having a big problem with loose skin yet, but I have lost a lot of muscle mass from my chest and biceps which was something I was hoping to avoid.
