I smoke electronic cigarettes and I love them! You still get the nicotine without the harmful toxins. It's just Water vapor, no tar, no carcinogens, no stinky smells! When I told the nurse at me pre-op bariatric class she said it was perfectly fine. I'm getting sleeved on weds and I plane on packing plenty of electronic digs for the journey! Good luck to you!

I get lots of questions regarding how to get back on track. This journey is tough, and one thing I've learned is that I'm not perfect - but if I'm going to move past that I have to figure out how to forgive myself. For me, the main factor in my obesity was my inability to overcome this. So I would give up and gain all my weight back, and even more. I cannot do this to myself!!! I have to pick myself back up and keep it moving. I didn't go through 2 torturous painful weight loss surgeries to just keep giving up. Heck no!!!
So, along my Sleeve Journey, when I noticed I wasn't doing well and needed to get back on track this is what I did:
    The BASICS BOOTCAMP:
For 5 STRICT DAYS I will eat only...
Proteins: Seafoods, Poultry and eggs, Dairies, nuts/seeds including Peanut Butter.< /strong>
    Veggies: Green only.
    Fruits: None.
    Breads/Cereals/Other Carbs: None.
Fluids: One gallon of Water (128 oz.)
    Protein Drinks (RTD or Powder).
    Avoid: Sugar and Sodium
Once the 5 days are over, I am pretty much over the Sugar Carb Demon. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate carbs! I do need them to live a healthy life and since I workout a lot it is important I have them. However, I need GOOD carbs. Whole grains, fruits, veggies... But I don't need processed sugars. White carbs, in cereals, breads, rice... etc.
Lots will do the 5 day pouch test. liquids only is simply from being threatened with my life (post op) or if I'm just feeling sick and to let my Sleevie rest. That's it.
Good luck everyone! This journey is tough, but nothing worth doing is ever easy. Xoxo

Since posting this, I've been (some may ridicule me for this behavior) drinking 2-3 nights a week since my one month mark. I am still losing significant amounts of weight- does not seem to be a problem!
I do not drink mixed drinks I drink alcohol on the rocks, and the pure alcohol has not hurt my tummy whatsoever- but everyone is different in that regard.
I do not intend to drink more than one evening a week at this point- Christmas parties, my husbands birthday, and family being in town has kind of made me a bit of a drinker this month. I'm aware of the empty calories etc. etc.- I am also 131 lbs which is the same weight I was at age 13...it's hard to feel like I've failed myself in any fashion!

You are right. We should be supporting each other. There are enough people (outside those of us who have gotten sleeved) that are willing to criticize us.

Lisa the loser reacted to cathyg in Tummy Tuck...have You Had One?
I had a Tummy Tuck and Lipo about 6 years ago after I had lost weight before.
Positives: great result, almost no scar, wonderful surgeon. Really tight lower ab muscles, brand new belly button! You can even have your "lady parts" lifted a bit. It's outpatient, and I only needed pain killers for 24 hours, just tylenol after that
It's going to sound like a lot of negatives, but the results outweighed:
    1. cost about $8,000
    2. minimum 2 weeks off work, 3 is better, but if you have lift anything at work, you;ll need to make arrangements
    3. Have to sleep in a recliner for about a month
    4. must wear a compression garment for about 3 months.
    5. drains stayed in for about 3 weeks--
Overall I'm glad I did it. I got my sleeve last week, but don't think I'll need the surgery again, since I didn't regain any weight in my stomach. But my arms and thighs might be a different matter--but I'm going with weights and yoga.
Let me know if you have any other questions. c

My surgeon is big on plastic surgery...I'm not sold...yet.
It is worth thinking about, but I haven't gotten any farther than that yet. My surgeon says to him having WLS and not finishing the job with plastics is like driving around an awesome car with no paint. He said I was "too pretty" not to finish the job...lol, bet he tells all the ladies that!
I definitely want to wait for at least one year at goal before considering anything...my mind still tricks me and thinks that I'm as fat as I used to be once in a while...need time to adjust to the mental shift.

I am sick of these people how feel the "need' to tell you the most negitive thing they have ever heard about WLS, we have no idea of the mental state of this woman prior to surgery that may have been something she would have done either way !!! Stay strong and have faith in yourself

So...from what I gather even we so called "slow losers" average about 10 lbs per month? Yeah, we should be very upset. Before surgery we were losing how much per month?
