  1. Tough question because everyone's body is different. I didn't really get into a smaller size until about 2 months in. Once it started, though, I started going through them quite quickly. I was going shopping for something every 3 weeks or so. Also, my top shrunk faster than the bottom. I was having to buy shirts at a more rapid pace. I think, and I have heard others say as well, that it is slower going through the plus sizes. Once you get out of the plus size and into regular sizes, they go REALLY FAST.

Don't worry, it will happen!! You are doing fantastically well!!!!

I feel the same way. I am still using the same clothes I was and have lost a decent amount. Other people can see it...I still can't!

  2. Im 1 week and 1 day post op and I went to the dr today thinking I would be able to AT LEAST eat other Soups and they told me broth for 3 more weeks. I was sooooooo dissapointed and kinda emotional about it i have been on broth for 3 weeks now and Im reallllllllly sick of it . Did anyone else have only broth and Jello 4 weeks post op?????? I have been doing awesome on the liquids I drink all day long never been sick or anything and I was shocked I couldnt move on. Anyways I will suck it up and only have broth lol but this is the PiTS and I didnt think it would be like this. ANd for all I know its probably all in my head but at this point some other kind of Soup would have been great LoL. Just wondering how other people were able to progress???

I so understand how you feel....I still have a crap load of Jello and am ready to pass it on to my friend who is getting sleeved in a couple weeks. As far as I am concerned I will NEVER eat Jello again!

I am five weeks post op today and have been taking it slow. I started with soft foods three weeks post op and have not been able to tolerate much. So needless to say I am still on canned chicken, tuna, salmon or an egg. It bites big time but I keep reminding myself...it's only TEMPORARY. Majority of it is psychological!

The biggest pay off for me is that my sugar levels have dropped dramatically and I am down 30 lbs as of 7/9/2011. I wish you much luck and will be praying you get through it too!

  3. Anxiety! I was invited to a baby shower today and last minute made an excuse not to attend. I am four weeks post op and am having issues with being around food that I can't eat right now. I'm miserable.

Everywhere I turn I am made aware of food. In my home, on TV, going to the mall, at work. It is really driving me crazy. I never realized how much my life revolved around FOOD until after I got sleeved.

And the only thing I can really hold down at this point is apple sauce, eggs and chicken salad. Ugh! I'm so FRUSTRATED.

  4. Thanks for posting this! I am three weeks post op and felt like I was the only one dealing with this. I am just now able to tolerate eggs and soft chicken. I spoke with my nutritionist two weeks post op and she advised me to listen to my body. Go back to liquids if you need to. It worked for me and I'm still living! :) In my own way I understand the frustration. I'm praying that you find something that works for you!

Well...I just started my soft food diet. It's only day 3 and already I think I am doing things very wrong. My diet (given by my NUT) explains very little. It doesn't say how I should eat, when I should eat. And that's what I'm having trouble with. I still don't feel hunger so I don't know when to stop eating once I start! Because I'm deathly afraid of getting sick or throwing up, I take only 3 or 4 bites at a time. Then I'll take a nother few bites 10 or 20 mins. later. This is bad b/c it takes me hours to eat a meal (I still don't finish many of them although they are small portions). I feel like that's bad b/c 1, I need to get my nutrients and protien. and 2, it's like I'm grazing which I know I shouldn't do b/c it can cause weight gain. In addition, its hard for me to get all my fluids in b/c it takes me so long to finish eating and I we're not supposed to drink w/in 30 mins. of eating. I'm so bass ackwards right now I really feel like I don't know what I"m doing or what I should be doing to correct it. Someone, anyone please chime in and give your thoughts and suggestions!

  5. I completed my surgery on June 06, 2011, with Dr. Cavazos in San Antonio, Texas. My post op weight revealed a 23lb weight loss in 1 1/2 weeks. More importantly I saw my endocronologist on the 23rd and he has reduced my insulin and changed me to oral meds.

I did this surgery to help control my diabetes. This life change is one of the hardest things I have ever done.
