  1. I was meant to have my surgery on 1/3/2012. However, due to an ins glitch, it was pushed to the middle to the end of Jan. No big deal. I am on my own pre-op diet for now and will follow my surgeons diet two weeks before the surgery. In the past two weeks, I have been hovering between 950-1250 cal a day and have gone from 219 to 211 since Dec 8, 2011. I am happy with my progress thus far. If I can come down another 5 lbs before surgery, I think that's perfect. It's funny, I have been getting mixed reviews from people regarding the surgery. I work in a medical school and I am surrounded by physicians all day long. Some of them think i am too thin and others who really know me, think it's a great idea. I have been struggling with my weight since I was 9 years old. I have gained and lost 35+ pounds more times than I can count. This time around I lost 35 lbs and gained 70lbs putting me at 219lbs. I now have hypertension, pre-diabetic, hyperlipidemia and moderate sleep apnea. I am active. I am a yoga teacher (not teaching currently, because who wants a fat yoga teacher?lol). I bike and walk as well. It's my eating that needs to be nipped in the bud. My doc thinks that I am an excellent candidate because he doesn't have to get me off the couch to exercise and my weight loss goals are far from hefty. I don't eat bad foods, it's the volume that I have to control. Anyone else like me? Liz

    Surgery Is Monday

My surgery is tomorrow. I am ready. Had a couple of cheats as well on the pre-op diet. What's bothering me more is that I am going to get my period tomorrow so I am retaining water weight. I 10 lbs I lost on pre-op is looking more like 7lbs this morning. Lol.

I Can't Drink While Eating. Is That Normal??

Didn't your doctor warn you about that before your surgery? It's like the biggest NO NO of all the NO No's.

    10 Lbs Down?Very Frustrated

Calories, in calories out. Even if you aren't feeling restriction, you should be losing weight with what you are eating and how much you are exercising.

    Banded On 1/31 ... 2 Weeks Liquids

Same here. Will be banded on the 30th. I was supposed to go on the 3rd, but had to resched. I did the 2 back in December and I didn't want to kill anyone. I actually enjoyed it. I felt great. I use Jay Robb's chocolate egg white protein shake. I have two a day. I use Coconut Dream for my milk replacement and put 1/2 banana, 1/4 cup of blueberries and either 1/4 apple or 1/4 cup of raspberries in each shake. I use one scoop of Metagenics powder - Phytoganix (Organic Superfruits & Greens) as a fruit and veggie supplement, I take avitamin D3, Iron, Vitamin A supplement and a pro-biotic each day. I eat one meal a day which consists of 3-6 oz of protein, a mixed green salad and 2 tsp of olive oil and of course 8 glasses of water. That is my regime. I stay around 1000 cal. I also have 1 cup of coffee a day with 1/4 cup of organic skim milk. I am 5'5 211. Don't have a lot to lose. I've gained and lost 35-50lbs so many times. I'm exhausted.

I agree 100%!!!! I was thin for about 5 minutes in 2006. I was 148! and I was still considered on the heavier side.

Lower Bmi: 5'5 And 219lbs. Anyone Like Me?

I feel the same way Amanda. My life revolves around my fat ass! I just want to go into a store and know that size 8 will always fit!
