  2. how did i miss this post? tonia- I AM SO GLAD EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHT FOR YOU!!!! i COMMEND you on checking this out so quickly! i have read lots of posts where people write pain off as a fluke. GET IT CHECKED! i need to work on this. i like to get that 'last bite in' i need to get a smaller plate i guess!
  3. WOAH... that just made me realize since my last fill i have not snacked between meals ONCE!!!! i guess i just didnt realize that food was taking a different shape in my disstorted notion of what eating throughout the day is!!! i have always had a snack after dinner so i 'wouldnt go to bed hungry' i did have an atkins candy bar after dinner last night but that was purely a *TREAT*. i CANNOT believe i havent eaten after dinner since this fill- havent even thought about it- much less felt like i was missing something!!! HOLY COW! I LOVE MY BAND TOO!!!!!!! :D
  4. i have a tv radio at work and i was going to listen but got busy and forgot!
  5. hi! well i was on period when i had the surgery and yes it ws panty-less and they let me wear a tampon. i agree it should be in the handouts they give! i had to ask my male dr! i still dont know if i had a catheder (sp) but if i did i am glad i was :knockedou knocked out! because i WAS NOT looking foreward to someone getting upclose and personal for the surgery!
  6. that sounds great brandi!!! i am making myself drink 32 oz of Water before i eat breakfast, then another 32 oz before lunch (still drinking lol) that keeps my mind occupied instead of thinking about food! and then all afternoon and night i drink artificailly sweetened drinks. does it hurt when you eat first the first thing of the day? what about when you eat meat. its like i can feel it sitting on top of the band! weird! not severe pain just discomfort! michelle
  7. hey brandi! i had my 4th fill last thursday and i to have RESTRICTION!!!!i am so exited about that! i do think i need a little more. i dont stay full as long as i think i should! i am going back on the 20th for another fill. i have been eating chicken with no problem. when i eat Breakfast in the morning it hurts a bit. i have been having 2 scrambled eggs with cheese. (started the atkins diet) but i am eating WAY less than before! i CANNOT wait to get on the scale!!!!! have you tried any solids? i love restriction!!! this is what i have been waiting for!!!!!
  8. just wanted to let everyone know that oprah is doing her show about about WLS surgery and sagging skin on thursday. could be interesting!
  9. i dont have to see one as a requirement. i think it would be a good thing if they did require it.
  10. thanks i will definitaly post with my next loss. i hopefully will be under 300. i am at 307 now. i am tryuly enjoying the restriction!!!!
  11. the difference is the inamed is 4 cc and is hard plastic the swedish band is 11 cc and is softer has more give? this is my understanding of the difference. i think the 11 cc band is supposed to better because there is more adjustablitly.
  12. hey firegirl! sushi is probly a good food to have last meal syndrome with! its gotta be pretty healthy. i have always been afraid to get food piosoning from it!
  13. hey alicia, my man didnt like seeing me in pain either!! i would warn him that you are going to feel like total crap that first day- you just had surgery!!! i agree with alexandra- knowledge is power. the only thing that eased him was doing his own research!
  14. i didnt see it either.
  15. i am pretty sure you could eat it. you could probbly find out now by ... getting your sushi. then take a tiny bite and chew chew chew. does the food breakdown alright? by breakdown i mean can you chew it to where it is just mush no chunky particles? if you can you will probably be able to eat it. the rice may be iffy. you could always disect your sushi and eat the parts that you can get down safely.
  16. hey kelly and MEGAN yall may want to check these out. i have read them all but find when i am struggling if i go back to the part in their journal where they are dealing with the same issue i am it really helps! http://www.geocities.com/robinh26/lapband.html this one is awsome! she has lost 145! http://www.myagb.homestead.com/ another goodie...not sure how much she lost i think 100 http://www.fisherchristine.addr.com/band.html she has just lost 100 lbs as of this month!!!! in 10 months!!! http://www.geocities.com/karlak68/ another good one who is now pregnant! http://www.employees.org/~kirsten/ this girl has lost 85 but hasnt updated her page in a long time!!! i am sure she is down more now! http://www.geocities.com/laylaburd/AGB/laylaslapband.html
  17. http://www.thekarmalounge.com/myband.html love your new pic kelly!
  18. donali when i eat, i wait an hour till i drink, by then the food that i had eaten has already 'passed' through and i am hungry. i think a little more fill would keep the food from passing so quick keeping me full longer and chubblebubble i said above i have only lost 13 pounds since banding. this is without dieting at all. if i had been dieting this whole time i am sure i would have lost more. i have the 4cc band, my dr does the same way to make sure all the fill is/was still there. i had 1st fill of 1.6cc - 2nd fill 2.2 cc 3rd fill 2.6 cc and 4th fill 3.2 cc Alexandra i am wondering if i should wait a little instead of getting filled on the 20th. i wish my dr had done all my fills under fluro! i agree on the goal being to not be hungry. the issue is i get hungrier at night and am able eat more i wonder if a little more will help! i will wait till atleast next week before i decide to cancel or keep my appt. i hope when i go back to the dr and get weighed i can report a good loss.
  19. this is what i have eaten so far... the amounts are pretty small so i wont list those... egg quesidilla grilled chicken breast cole slaw 1/3 slice of pizza more chicken green Beans sausage more chicken cheese as you can see- pretty much anything with LOTS of chewing!
  20. i have been banded since 8-18, i have had virtually no restriction since first week of banding, i have had 4 fills. i am at 3.2 cc. i have lost 13 pounds since banding. i am closer with this 4th fill and think it will only take a little more. i can feel solids stop in my pouch but they only take about 30 minutes to an hour till they slide on down. i have read alot of bandsters saying the tighten up after a few weeks? my dr said the oposite that i might loosen up after 2 weeks? i have fill # 5 scheduled for 11-20 (exactly 2 weeks from 4th) and i only want like .1 cc to take me to 3.3 cc maybe 3.4 (will discuss and see how things go) ALSO how long should i stay full on say a peice of chicken? how will i know what perfect restriction is? i know im getting closer. it is a NEW feeling to have the food actually get held up in the pouch- before it just went right through. i have not pb'd since with new fill!
  21. http://www.chowbaby.com/10_2000/fastfood/fast_food_nutrition.asp that is a link to a website that will give you calorie, fat, carbs, and sodium totals of most fast food restaraunts. i know some banded people have to eat fast food. this may help you judge what are better choices. (i try to avoid it) i was able to spend an hour online adding up the calories of my old favorite binge foods (SCARY):speechless anyhow if you need it here it is. if you want to freak yourself out on how much you USED to eat here it is!
  22. hey barb! if you look at the band it is very small so even if you are not rectricted the contents of you stomach would have to pass back through that small opening. i had a full stomache when i vomited and NO restriction. i'm talking like being able to eat a 6 inch sub every bite with no drinking- the only thing that came up was about 1/4 - 1/2 a cup of food. please post to us what your surgeon says and in the mean time i hope you can stay unnauseated! is that a word?
  23. Gas pain sucks!!!! i had it pretty bad too. i HATE feeling bloated! the gas x will help and exercise, stretchinf and maybe you caould talk your friend into a back massage. that helped me alot although it wasnt till about day 7-8 that i could even attempt to lay on my tummy!
  24. i specifically asked my surgeon about that pre-band and he said if you are restricted and get sick (truly vomit) to call him immediatly (his office has answering service to reach him) leave a desctriptive message and they will either call you insomething to stop the vomiting, or if it is non-stop heaving got to the hospital and have fill removed! i will be going to the hosiptal he is at even though it is 1 hour away because i want him judging if the fill needs to come out not an er dr who may not know that much about the band or how to remove the fill.
  25. i have 'vomited' NOT PB'd since banding. Once. i was not restricted and stuff did come up, not alot and not fun. it happened because i was brushing my teeth and then my tongue, gagged, swallowed a tiny bit of toothpaste and that's all it took. like i said some did come up (nothing compared to how much was in there) but that is without restriction. it suprised me that i could eat as ch as i could but when i vomited only a tiny bit came out. i have since quit brushing my tongue. i have always been sensitive to swallowing toothpaste when gagging from brushing my tongue- then vomiting. now i just use mouthwash. at least that way no heaving! i agree that you MUST discuss this with your dr.
