Update your Profile for better Results?
@Alex Brecher directions, how to make a ticker, edit a ticker, profile etc explaining to use the @ sign before the persons' name you are specifically addressing - ie @Alex Brecher then the person will be aware that you are addressing him/her!! PS - if your app doesn't show things, like having a ticker et al, maybe you could use your lap top and post, then go back to your phone - i know this is an extra "step" to do, but it would be very helpful. OP, add other things here i'm forgetting @DropWt4Life - great thread, thanx kathy

Sleeve surgery internsl incision torn
@Cambridge narrows gal OMG - hey bud i hope you don't mind, but i am using you as an example of what newbies should NOT do. At 2 (two) weeks PO. docs will usually tell you not to lift anything. (except a glass to drink your shake or H20) LOL.. light housekeeping....I don't think so. you are in the healing process. even if you are feeling ok to clean - please don't. you should rest, take care of yourself - take yourself off the back burner - ask your DH/family/friend etc. to maybe help you. or - you can always let the house go to potcall your doc - betcha dollars to "donuts" he'll tell you to stop, take it easy, rest - and then carefully walk to his office. best of luck - kathy

Advice needed
@Sophia Duran i would contact a NUT about a necessary plan for proper eating, drinking, all things pertaining to bariatrics. she could help set up a plan. if finances are an issue, try and find a way to go at LEAST once, you must gather info from NUT to help you learn about what to do next. sorry you were left in the dark with no plan/ help PO. There are so many docs out "their" with their own plans that OP here will talk about. you would blow your mind trying to figure bits and pieces from here and their to follow. if/when YOU get your own NUT - that's who you listen to ONLY. (or me too of course) the two things that are said by most docs etc. - get plenty to drink, as much as you can - hopefully you'll accomplish the 64 oz you are supposed to drink. Also get in as much protein as you can at this early point. most docs tell you at least 60+ grams of protein. right now, water is the most important of everything. you don't want to get dehydrated!!! good luck bud kathy

Restriction??
@Melesg ooooooops just realized you were asking about the ESG don't know if restriction and things are the same with sleeve. sorry bud kathy

Concerns with gaining
@seeme1954 not meaning to be harsh, spoken with good intentions, daughter maybe is eating frequently when no one is around. chips, dip, cookies etc. also drinking empty calories from too much alcohol. i agree, discussing the situation "once" is fine. then don't bring up again. you can bring a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. good luck mom (daughter too!) kathy

I have 2 mths of sealed bariactiv chewable vitamins -anyone want them?
@carla817 thanx for the info. i'll check it out kathy
-
Restriction??
@Melesg short answer - YES reached my GOAL (105 lbs down). couple years PO, still had some restriction but not as much as when i was initially sleeved. for me (and some others too) restriction gets less and less through the years in my case, (almost 6 years) it's more of a mental thing. i continue to try and follow all the rules i learned as a newbie. to me, water rules are the most important. protein, carbs, moderation, being aware of your portions. You work with your sleeve (or whichever WLS you had) - and it will work with/ for you. BUT - YOU are in charge. good luck bud kathy

Heartburn
@Dabearo congrats on losing 95 lbs, that's great!!! don't understand why doc would want to take you off heartburn meds? do the meds control your heartburn?/help a little??- tums are a Band-Aid aid, not a cure!! i can count on two hands, how often i've had heartburn. it is really miserable!! i can't imagine having it on a regular basis. unfortunately , the sleeve and heartburn sometimes do go "hand in hand"!! talk to doc again, you are the patient! tell him your strong feelings. he can't MAKE you stop the meds. (if he has a good reason, ask him to explain, and then you two discuss) good luck congrats on your weight loss kathy
-
How long were you off work?
@DRoseman i didn't take ANY time off from "work." my employer doesn't offer disability i was and am happily retired!!! good luck speedy recovery kathy
-
Restriction??
@Melesg you are asking me a question that happened almost 6 years ago!!??? LOL i'm lucky to remember something that happened almost 6 minutes ago i was eating solids at around 5-6 weeks PO. it's a great idea keeping a log/record book. daily basis, write things down related to your WLS. ie problems, successes - and in betweens. very helpful. Then, 6 years from now when a cutie petuti newbie asks you a question, just go back to your log. Or of course, just ask me LOL keep up the good job good luck bud kathy
-
Restriction??
@Melesg liquids, go smoothly down the hatch. they will not give you any restriction - doc never put me on puree' - (my request) not sure about puree/and restriction when you start gradually eating solids - you should/will feel that restriction we love congrats on your early success continued good luck kathy

new poster sick
@chris1985 hey dude/aka newbie!!! I agree @Diana_in_Philly - eating too fast is very bad. you must slllllow it down. chew into small bites, THEN swallow. No gulping allowed!! (people have been shot for less!!) use small (baby) utensils, that will help FORCE you to eat slowly. put utensil down between bites. then start again with eating. DON'T drink any water while you are eating anything! don't drink 30 minutes before you eat, then wait 30 minutes after you eat til you drink. find a support group in your area. (doc should help you/or office) maybe you could make a friend, then you can help each other. this board is very helpful, informative. continue to ask your questions, you'll there are bariatric books with recipes too. one example is Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook for Dummies lots of information on various web sites!! KNOWLEDGE is POWER!! Good luck - kathy

Breaking a stall with MORE calories?
@Phobia42 upping your calories, drinking more water and exercising are the typical good responses. these probably will help a stall. btw . - an OFFICIAL stall is 3 weeks without weight loss. a stall can occur anytime while you are loosing weight. after following the above advise - you probably will lose weight, but it just might happen to "be your time to drop the weight" - (with or with out changing certain things) its good to be mentally prepared for a possible stall - but don't over think or worry/dwell about it good luck newbie kathy
