  8. @Redapples great answer. responses of over weekend, 1 week. 2-3 and even 6 weeks off for recuperation are common good replies. You will read here, that all people are different. Sounds like you have the "time" and finances to afford a longer timer period off. Your body will help you make a decision. Don't rush back to work - but don't sit on your arse too long!! remember you need to walk and walk!! 6+ years, still home, fluctuations, maintaining at GOAL. Then again, i am happily RETIRED good luck kathy
  9. @Lara83 i am a 6+ year GOAL veteran of the sleeve. i am very happy, many health improvements. I think i am one of the long term success people, and i totally have/will continue to love my sleeve. restriction i had in the early days is no longer around for me. its a mental game/attitude for ME, that gives me success. moderation, protein, water etc still have to be followed. Over the years, i am not perfect - well then again..... i've become more lax with eating - little fluctuation, but i consider myself at GOAL - you work with the sleeve, and it will work/for you. thumbs up towards you and long success of the sleeve. good luck kathy

  15. hi BP dudes/dudettes I went to the hospital June 27th to start dialysis. i had surgery "PDK" catheter inserted in my tummy. (Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter) Primary causes for dialysis are high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. I have unwillingly been a member to both clubs these past 20+ years. , i have been off my meds, feeling great 6+ years GOAL sleeve- Unfortunately too much damage had been done to the kidneys I will have daily home treatments 8 hrs a night - getting a new kidney would be terrific welcome to my new life- I'm usually upbeat - today feeling sorry for myself, life can be a bummer kathy
  16. hey bud ahhhh, my friend/hero always nice to see you "slumming" from lapband board you are the exception to the rule about lappers - you've had a couple of issues, but all in all doing great w/lapband Who loves ya baby? kathy

  18. did I pass? kathy
  19. @lisalou1968 glad you are realizing you need to make changes, lots to learn plenty of good info on these boards - ask your questions too knowledge is power work hard toward success - get more info from your group water was/and is the most important rule for me 64 oz H20/liquids a day never drink while you are eating NEVER eat until 30 minutes have passed do not drink 30 minutes before you eat good luck kathy
  20. @Jneal7752 add a few calories - ie 100 more or less. sounds crazy, - but it can help experiment, change a couple of foods, - get out of the same rut. (i say this with the fact that i have Fage yogurt for lunch everyday LOL ) -exercise do weights first and then cardio-or other way around. add different exercise too. main fixer upper to stalls are PATIENCE (easier said than done!!) but at the end of the day - 2 things you can be sure of - stalls and shitttttttt - these two shall pass kathy
  21. @Teresa Bernard glad i helped you feel normal but i didn't say you "were" normal try not to stress - you newbies are all a like!! LOL good luck bud kathy
  22. @Drealeeanne the kitchen sink that's quite a list! LOL! I wore my sweats home - brought clean socks and undies hospital supplied all toiletries, chapstick could go on your list didn't want or need any electronics ie cell phone, laptop - i slept having wonderful dreams of my future with the sleeve good luck kathy
  23. welcome newbie congrats on loosing 20 lbs, great start no one feels restriction with liquids only. once you start eating mush, purees', soft and the ever popular solids, you will feel the restriction that we love. all WLS will "assist" you in loosing the weight. you work with the sleeve, and it will work for/with you don't obsess over the scale. give yourself a break away from the "numbers" good luck kathy
  24. @AshAsh1 nice pic, what a differencei've always had a double double chin- PO it was terrible i decided to splurge and have plastic surgery,I am worth it, and i look terrific kathy
  25. @Missouri-Lee's Summit my tushie and thighs, all wrinkled, terrible as others have said, hubby said he could feel the difference at about 30 lbs!! rather have loose loose skin than fat any day of the week, and twice on Sunday!! kathy
