Milk of Magnesia
-

It's been almost 4 weeks since surgery. I'm doing great, all except that I itch all the time. I thought it was just dry skin but I've been using a lot of moisturizer and still itch, especially on my chest. I take a Benedrill every night so stop the itching long enough to sleep. Anybody else have this problem?

I had the same problem. I'm 5 weeks post op and it took 2-3 weeks to stop itching. The Benadryl helped. My doctor said it has something to do with ketosis. I also started taking an extra dose of Vitamin E

I had terrible itching. Started under my breasts and spread all over to my shoulders and back and arms and legs. Took Benadryl for .a week

Milk of mag works great and it doesn't cause cramping

I had the same problem with my lap band and same emotions. My pain meds were the issue. I ended up getting different pain meds and nausea meds. Took me 3x as long to recover from my lap band removal as it did for my gastric sleeve surgery.

I got it all set up and I love it. I have all my numbers in:)

Nope haven't been on any pain meds since day 5 post op. I'm now 10 days post op. Only on Vitamins and Effexor nothing else

I did not have any type of diet before I started my pre-op diet. My pre-op was all liquid, 3-4 Protein Shakes, clear fluids, sugar free Jello, lots of Water etc.

I am itching everywhere! Not just my incisions. Someone told me it was the ketosis. I'm 8 days post op. Help me please!!

Sleeved 11/13/13, 20 lbs lost, back to work yesterday. Not hungry but get light headed when I need food. Protein Shakes, Water, Jello, Soup and yogurt.

I was sleeved 11/13/13. I'm at 223 so count me in! I've got a cruise to go on the 3rd week in January.

It's to shrink the liver. The liver lies almost directly on top of the stomach. It's easier for the surgeon to do his job when he doesn't have to hassle with an enlarged liver. It could also mean the difference between 5 small incisions and 1 large vertical incision.

I was up and walking about 6 hours after I went in for surgery. Then I was up using the bathroom every 3-4 hours and walking the halls. No gas pains at all. The cath was inserted and removed while I was still out. Surgery was 11/13 and I'm doing well. Finally had to use milk of magnesia to help with Constipation. It worked well with no cramping.

Not yet on the computer but on my phone in the hospital. I'm still very tired but I've been walking like crazy. I hope everyone else is doing well.

My surgery is at 6:45 AM. Last day of my 14 day pre-op all liquid diet. I made it!!! Didn't cheat once and I went cold turkey on Diet Coke after 30 years. Bags are packed and I'm ready for my surgery! Very excited!

I'm just hoping they have a microwave on the floor so I can get them heated up at the hospital. I think there are 3-5 of us on this forum with the same date. My surgery is at 7:30 AM

I was only crabby on day 3 and 4, but then things smoothed out.

I fly a lot and the only time I ever get the pat down is when I where those jeans with sparkles on the pockets. Just be sure to not wear any jewelry or belts, easy to slip on/off shoes, and no liquids on your carry on. Just be prepared and they will scoot you on through. If they "pat" you, it will be quick and with the back of their hand and it will be a woman, although I have asked for a man before for my pat down. I was DENIED! Dang it! At least I should have fun if they pat me down;)

And I'm going to sew a few rice bags for after surgery for my tummy and shoulders. Woohoo!!

I started my pre op diet on Halloween this year. Two weeks after surgery, I hit Thanksgiving. Now I'm headed into Christmas and New Years, not to mention my birthday, my father in laws bday and my daughters bday. So I feel your pain but I wouldn't change a thing. I would be 10 lbs heavier instead of 33 lbs lighter without the sleeve
