I got my lap band in 2011 and hated it. Worst decision I ever made. On 10/25 I had my band removed and got the sleeve. The sleeve is not easy but I'm only 5 days post op. But I have lost 12 lbs already. Everyone deals with it differently but honestly out of all my friends 5 that got the lap band, all of them have had it removed and gotten the sleeve.
Just look at all your options.

I was sleeved Oct 25th and I'm having the same pain under my rib cage. It's a little better this am but still there.

Yes I was sleeved on Tuesday too. Today was awful with acid reflux. The burning sensation was terrible. I chewed a Tums and called my doctor. He said tums were okay just not over do it. But he said I could take Prevacid or Protonix.

Good luck! My surgery is also 10/25.I'm also 10/25 and have the same concerns. I've tried lots of diets that work but that I can't maintain long term. There are tons of people on the boards that have been able to maintain their weight loss. I've know 4 people who have had wls. 3 have maintained wonderfully. (Over twelve years for one) and 1 who has regained. She is an emotional eater. I think it's important to really get in touch with your relationship with food. BtW, when I cook, I think I eat less. Is that weird? Best of luck on Tuesday!

I'm also getting sleeved on 10/25. I'm having a lot of emotions, from scared to anxious and plain nervous. I have yo-yo dieted my entire life. I even had the lap band 5 years ago and that has been pure hell. So on Tuesday I'm having a band removal, hiatal hernia repair and the sleeve. I've read in these forums that these feelings are absolutely normal and it will pass and it will be the best decision ever.
Good luck to yall on Tuesday!

I am having my lap band removed oct. 25th and getting the sleeve. The lap band has been nothing but pure he'll from me since I got it in 2011. I only lost 40 lbs and too have gained it back.
My band has caused a stricture within my stomach and I have no Fluid in my band, and haven't had any Fluid in over a year, but I still throw up. So I made the decision to remove it and go to the sleeve, I'm not nervous just anxious. My Dr said I will immediately feel better once I recover to not have the band and port.
I can't wait.

I'm having a conversion from lap band to sleeve next week, Oct. 25th.I am also scheduled for tomorrow morning. Conversion from lapband to gastric sleeve. I also lost 10 lb on my 2 week pre-op diet, I think that is the norm. Have complete faith in my surgeon and my worry is whether he will be able to do it in one surgery. Good luck to you tomorrow!

I too am having mine on the 17th and I'm extremely excited but very nervous as well. I can't wait for the end results. I know where you are coming from but I know it will all be worth it. I'm going to try and get as much knowledge as possible on here and go with it. I wish you luck for Friday, I know it will go well!
Are you ever truly prepared for this?

I too was banded the same day. I thought I knew everything but I was wrong. It's very hard to get the Protein in and the liquid. I have been entering everything into my fitness pal and your right I'm getting around 500 calories or less. It's terrible. I have been amazed at my will power though. Cooking for my family and not eating is tough. I know it will be worth it but ready for the next few weeks to fly by. I get the green light for all foods the week of thanksgiving, that should be interesting
