  1. I now have a tentative date scheduled for August 11th, if all goes well with my insurance. I though I have not gotten an approval or denial from insurance, after I got off the phone with my surgeon nurse I immediately became nervous and I think scared.

I felt the same way when i first got my date. Now i'm just restless. August can't get here fast enough.

  2. I just want to get it all over with! I have all these pre-op appointments. I just want to be done!

How long are y'all taking off work for after your surgery.

My surgery is on a Wed. and i'll return on Monday. That's if all goes well. I sit for 95% of the time at work. I'm just worried about being sleepy so i will do a lot of that while i'm out.

  3. The sleep study is a breeze. All you have to do is sleep :P . The Gi Series is the worse of the worst for me. They make you drink this pasty liquid that taste.........pasty! You have to keep drinking it as they take a series of xrays of it traveling down your system. It felt like torture because it was the most horrible thing to drink.......EVER! I almost was sick on several occassions. *To subdue the taste try bringing chocolate mix to make it taste better. Its something the doctor may approve but don't tell you*

i havent done the upper gi . but i scared becuase i have to do the sleep study . where are you from ? how are you doing on the diet ?

  4. My experience was different both times when I did it. My first attempt at this was about 5 years ago. I was younger and wanting the surgery just for impulse reasons. Anyway, I failed the first time because I had childhood "crisis" that I was honest about and never got professional help for. The doctor reuested that I see him a couple more times before I have the surgery. I didn't want help especially at $200/45min. So I never went back.

This time my insurance covered the evaluation with a different doctor. I told him what I wanted him to know because I didnt want to be held back again. I passed!

I didn't have to take any questionaire. I don't recommend fabricating like I did. My past is no longer a burden on me and I didn't want it holding me back again.

  5. My date is Aug. 3. Which is my mom's birthday. I was given a July date but I wanted to enjoy my 2nd wedding anniversary which is Aug 1. and hubby's bday is the 2nd. It feels so far away that I want to switch back but I'll wait!

The GI series was the worse test I took! They give you this white liquid to drink that is thick, pasty, and disgusting. You have to drink it while you have about 50 xrays taken! But its done, over with and well worth it!

  6. Lol! Its ok! You're not alone! I just finished reading your blog! I like it! I understand what you mean by the clearance payments! I just payed a $90 clearance for the nutritionist, but that was the only one! She's gonna cost me a pretty penny because my insurance only pays for 15 minute visits with her! I have to pay the rest, uggh! Why did you choose Dr. Gadaleta, especially seeing how far you are from him?

  7. Hi there! I decided to check out this forum after hearing about you on another forum! I love my first forum and I am in no way abandoning them. I just needed a little bit of diversity. I see that there are a lot more people here so maybe i can gain a bit knowledge or just make new friends! I am waiting for approval. I was told that HIP doesn't take that long so maybe I can get an answer this week since my work was submitted last week! I hope to enjoy you guys! Speak to you soon!
