  1. He put in 2 cc's and then backed some out a little so I'm not sure exactly how much. He said he likes to be aggressive with the fills but not so much that you can't drink or swallow so he had me drink a glass of Water before I left. I did fine. At first I didn't think it was enough but I was totally wrong. It has restricted me good. I'm happy with being very restricted. Oh don't get me wrong I can eat and drink but I eat like a little bird now!!! I love it!!!!

  2. I have been very happy with my 1st fill. I had my surgery May 26, 2011 in Monterrey Mexico by Dr. Zapata. I had a "Wonderful" experience. Loved all the nurses and the Doctors were wonderful!!! I live in Oklahoma and had my first fill in Tulsa. I went to Dr. Atkins. He was great!!!! Loved him!!!

The first 6 weeks I was really concerned about not having any restriction and I even gained 3.5 pounds before I had my 1st fill. Since then I've lost the 3.5 pounds plus so I'm very happy.

Overall I'm having a very good experience with my lapband and if anybody needs a good Dr. in the Tulsa area to get their fills, go see Dr. Atkins. He only charges $150.00.

I am very happy I did this!!!!!

  3. I am 10 weeks out and I started at 240lbs and a tight size 20 jeans... I am now 212lbs and in a size 16!!!

So today was picture day.. I take a picture once a month on the 5th in an old swim suit that I had when I was thin... Today we took my monthly picture and you could see a huge difference from last month and an even bigger difference from the first picture!!

I am in a wedding in the middle of July and I had to buy my dress early... so I had to order a 20 because I wasnt sure if I was going to get to have the surgery at the time I had to buy it... When I brought it home to show my husband, he had a hard time getting it to zip because it was a bit snug... Well I tried it on tonight and well lets just say the only thing holding it up is my butt!! They say they can take it in up to 2 sizes but I think I am already at that mark and the wedding is still over a month away!!! Ahhhahaha!

I have had 3 fills and I feel that I am at the sweet spot!! I am so excited about my progress and today just made it that much better!!! I cant wait to see how the rest of this turns out! I have set a new goal as of May 31 to hit 180lbs by August 31... thats about 10 lbs a month.. and that is exactly what I did last month!!! So I am determined to meet my goal!!!

I just wanted to share my exciting news with everyone!!!:D

  4. Original Recipe Yield 4 servings

    Ingredients

    • 4 cups chicken broth, divided
    • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 egg yolk

    Directions

    • Reserve 3/4 cup of chicken broth, and pour the rest into a large saucepan. Stir the salt, ginger and chives into the saucepan, and bring to a rolling boil. In a cup or small bowl, stir together the remaining broth and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
    • In a small bowl, whisk the eggs and egg yolk together using a fork. Drizzle egg a little at a time from the fork into the boiling broth mixture. Egg should cook immediately. Once the eggs have been dropped, stir in the cornstarch mixture gradually until the Soup is the desired consistency.

  5. I didn't weigh myself for the first 5 days after surgery and then when I did I was happy, but not excited. I read too much about people losing huge amounts week 1 and 2 and got down that I "only" lost 6 lbs. I did lose 10 the week before surgery so I knew to expect a lower number. But now I am obsessed. I WI every day and the numbers have not budged in the past 3 days and I am still on liquids so it is freaking me out.

I think I am going to tell my husband to hide the scale.

Anyone else do the same or still doing it?
