  1. This Thursday will be 2 weeks since I was banded. I have been walking quite a bit, but how soon did you guys start working out like your arms and upper body? I am still pretty sore at my port site, so I know I can't do situps, etc, but I am mainly needing good excercises for these "bat wings" I am developing on my arms! HOw soon and what excercises do you guys suggest????

  2. What would actually happen if you ate more solid foods like meatloaf during the mushy stage because I sure did want some today......lol? Of course I didn't eat it because I know it's not good, but what is the actual purpose of the different stages? I mean, if you slip up once is it doing to make your band slip or what? I am not going to cheat, but all of my friends have been asking me and I'm curious!

  3. Go for it girl! I'm 28 years old and fought with my weight until I couldn't do it anymore! I had surgery a two weeks ago this Thursday and it was the best decision I have ever made. I am down a little over 20 pounds and can already say I have no regrets. It requires life changes, but I'm in it for the long haul. You WILL not be alone I promise! This website is fantastic and everyone for the most part is supportive. I'm always here if you need anything!:)

  4. Is belching all throughout the day just something I need to get used to since I'm now a "bandit?" I belch worse after I drink something, usually Water, but it happens quite regularly no matter if I have drank anything or not.

Sometimes I belch so hard that it actually hurts a little bit, but I'm sure this is normal. Can anyone else relate??

  5. I very seldom hear of females who sweat as bad I as do around my face and neck so I am glad I posted this to the forum. It's been an embarassing issue i have dealt with for my entire life and it sucks in the "professional" world because you are right Pitbull, it is hard to be taken seriously. People always want to bring attention to my issue and then I get nervous and the problem worsens. It sucks!!!! I am praying the weight loss will at least lessen the issue and it sounds like this might be a possibility. I can only hope.

  6. The weird thing is that sweat around my face and head where you abslutely cannot hide it! It wrecks my life. My pits are fine. I always have weird conditions......lol. Oh well, I would rather be thinner and sweaty than fat and sweaty, I guess! Have to find humor in it somehow.

  7. Good Job! Like Rozie.....I'm a newbie and need all of the "success" stories I can find. I can honestly say I am loving my band, even though it's early on for me. I love these forums and getting everyones input. Best to learn from the people have been through and experienced being banded on a daily basis.

  8. Kind of a random question, but I'm a big "sweater" and it is horribly embarassing. I have been this way all of my life and I am hoping it will get better wtih weight loss, but I'm not so sure that's the problem. Have you guys noticed a diference when it comes to sweating?

  9. i haven't been pigging out at all. My doctor actually suggested drinking a slush or smoothie per day this week only just to add more calories, since I wasn't getting enough. I don't really like them so that is the only reason she thought I could get by with that. I drank Water tonight so I did good! I've been really strict and I have been making good choices when I eat (well, more like drink!)......I just don't want anything at all at this point. Thanks for all of the feedback and good luck on your journeys! I had mine last Thursday and I have lost 20.....I've never been this motivated, but I hope it sticks!

  10. I had surgery Thursday a week ago and I am wondering if I should be able to drink a whole small slush from Sonic. I drank one today and it didn't bother me at all. I guess I just didn't think I would be able to drink a whole one. Also, how soon could I drink a mixed drink? I don't want to rush it, but I'm going out tonight and I kind of want one. I am at the stage now where I'm not taking in hardly any calories so it won't hurt me from that perspective, but I know down the road I will have to be really careful with "empty calories."

  11. You're smart for keeping it quiet!

I started out telling family and close friends, but then one lady at work overheard me on the phone and it spread like wild fire. It was my fault for not telling the doctors office I needed to call them at a later time.

Like you said, it's actually just another diet plan. I don't care because at the end I know I will be healthier and much happier! I am positivie this is going to work for me!

  12. Do you ever wish you had kept your lapband surgery a secret? I know people are curious and I love the support, but I am getting exhausted from all of the questions that I keep getting asked at work.

People have gone to the extent to ask me how many ounces of Fluid I have taken in per day and I don't understand why they care. Today my boss, who is really competitve when it comes to fitness/weight loss, wanted to know how much I needed to lose and what my goal was long-term. She basically wanted to know what my weight is now and that's my business and all my business only.

I had my surgery nearly a week ago, but didn't know questions would start this quick. I am very open and don't mind curious minds at all, but there is a difference in people who just want to know for other purposes. I guess I just need to kindly learn how to say I'm doing good and leave it at that.

I am not one to flaunt weight loss or act like I'm "all that" and I never have been.......I guess people just get worried that after surgery I'm going to get smaller than them. I think it's ridiculous. It's okay though because I'm doing this for me and my health! I hate situations like this because I'm really kind to everyone and don't want to appear "secretive," but issues with weight are sometimes touchy.
