    Workout Clothes

I have surgery the 16th and I'm worried about the skin issue. Did they tell you workign out would make it go away? I was scared the only option would be surgery, but haven't researched this end of it much.

    PREOP Liquid Diet questions

I sound pretty identical to you! I actually am on day 6 of my liquid diet. My surgery is scheduled for June 16th. I go out ALLLLL of the time and thought this would be the end of the world for me, but it really hasn't been that bad. My friends are really supportive, so this does help tremendously I'm sure. I have been drinking three Protein shakes a day, which fill me up and I haven't been all that hungry. I also drink lots of Water with the crystal light and sugar free Hawaiian Punch packets in them. They help to add something a little different to the mix. I went out with friends both Friday and Saturday night and drank Diet Sprite the first and pretended like it was a mixed drink....lol. The second night, I drank water with lemon and pretended it was a Vodka Tonic.....haha. I have always been a pretty big social drinker so this is a huge change for me. The only problem I have had so far is with my "bathroom habits." I guess when you don't eat like normal, you are as regular as normal. They are better now though. Feel free to email me with any questions you have or anything. My email is leanel_01@yahoo.com. I'm just getting started too and need all the information I can get. I have been talking to a lot of people so I might can answer some questions.
  3. I have my surgery Thursday the 16th and plan to go back to work on MOnday.......is that pushing it? I see you had yours on a Thursday also. I am glad to hear you are doing well after the initial hoopla that I'm sure we will all go through!

    Wrong decision?

Kristi and Kimme both took the words right out of my mouth. People have told me repeatedly that I don't need the surgery because they don't "see me as being as big as I think I am." I'm tired of listening to everyone and I'm ready to feel better about myself and be more confident. I have struggled with my weight all of my life and I want to turn 30 with no worries about weight! With a surgery date of June 16th and I plan to make this work. A big incentive of mine is that insurance wouldn't cover me, so this is a LOT out of my pocket and I need to make sure it works! I need support so lets keep in touch. leanel_01@yahoo.com

    Pre op diet day 7....help!

eeeek.....I think I have been messing up. I am on day 4 of my pre-op diet and thought I could drink diet cokes. I have only had a few, but still! I think I misunderstood. HOpe this isn't going to set me back!

    Surgery day tomorrow

Good luck! I'm know I will have mixed emotions when the time comes.....happiness, nervousness....it's just the unknown, but I'm sure it's going to be worth it for the both of us.

    JUNE BANDER

Well, you are not alone. I have my surgery the 16th and I'm scared too. I have been wanting it forever....went for my consultation 5/31 and bam.....my surgery was scheduled for less than 3 weeks from my first visit. Of course, I'm private pay, so I didn't have to wait as long. I have been wanting this for so long, but now I'm nervous. How is you pre-op diet going? I'm on the 4th day of mine and actually it hasn't been that bad for me, which is shocking.
  8. Cool - you will be beating me by a week! We can help each other through. I've learned a lot on this forum. I"m about 4 days into my all liquid diet.....fun, fun!
  9. So I'm having my lap band done pretty soon. I'm pretty social and enjoy going out with my friends all of the time. THey always want to go to nice places to eat and drink, but I'm afraid I won't be able to go with them anymore. How have you guys dealt with this issue? Has it changed your lives to that degree?
  10. I have a mutual friend with a lady that had lapband last year and I see her out quite a bit. She says you just have to alternate Water with the alcohol and make sure you don't drink on an empty stomach. Alcohol isn't a huge loss to me, but I am a big friend type person and can't totaly miss out on all of that! I plan to still go out and just make better food choices. Thanks everyone for the input!
