    Almost to Onederland

I was losing really good at first. I was 212 when I went for my post op on 6/24 and I have weighed since only to discover that I have not lost another pound! I have been eating perfect and can't figure out what my deal is. Maybe I'm just ready for my first fill!

    Sex after Lap Band Surgery

I wonder how we would know if our ports have moved? I'm thinking it would be really severe pain, but then again I don't know. I have felt quite a bit of discomfort after sex, but wasn't sure if I should be worried or not. You definitely had a legitimate question....not stupid at all!

    Dermabond over incisions.

The dermabond on two of my bigger incisions never came off and I am 23 days post op. They are healed for the most part. I finally got a rag and scrubbed the dermabond off this morning. My other 3 incisions healed really quickly and the dermabond was off in a couple of weeks or so.

What is the 5 Day Pouch Test? Never heard of it.

    hard time with not drinking

I have had more trouble with this than any other aspect of the band. Connie answered my question because I was wondering if fills made a difference and it sounds like they do. I have always been a "guzzler" so to speak to the point that my friends gave me a hard time about how many times the waiter had to fill up my drink per meal. I have a horrible habit and I hate it!!!
  6. I'm loving my band, but at the same time I think it is making me feel crazy. I can move to regular foods this week and I almost feel guilty eating. I can tell I am getting hungry, but it's like I feel sooooo guilty for eating even healthy meals. I ate some ice cream the other night and worried about it for a couple of days. I have stopped losing since I have incorporated "regular" foods into my diet. I am eating less than 1000 calories a day, so it's not like I'm "pigging" out. I am sure this is normal, but it bothers me. Did anyone else feel this way or am I truly crazy? Another thing is that I just can't get motivated to workout! I don't know what my deal is.....I have always been one to walk and be active!
  7. This makes me feel a lot better. I have also been slacking on my vitamins, so I have to get better about that. I know how important they are. I appreciate the feedback. I never thought of all people that I would have a problem wanting to eat! Weird how things change, but starting today I am getting on the right track to eating more!

    Cute, cheap bathing suits?

I just bought a cute tankini top at Target for about 18 bucks. That's about as cheap as I could find! I already had bottoms that matched so I didn't have to get those.
  9. I think you have done very well. To lose 100 pounds in a little over a year in my opinion is just FANTASTIC! You keep it up chickadee!!

    Is this normal?

I am going on 4 weeks post op and I still feel really sore in my port side on the left side. I called the doctor just last week and they told me this was completely normal. I was told the port site could be very tender/sore for about 3 months. Also, when you repetively do somethig down the road that presses on your port, it will cause it to flare up again (sex, water tubing, etc).
  11. This is very well said!
  12. I'm 3-1/2 weeks post op and just told my friend today that I feel no restriction. I have heard the term "Bandsters Hell" and never realized what it was. It makes sense to me now. I can cope with this, but it just messes with my mind. I just have to train myself not to dwell on food. Today I cooked a variety of things for a famly cookout and caught myself sampling the dips and Desserts I had made. I was hoping this stuff would vanish, but I knew it woudln't! I hopefully have my first fill he 15th and can't wait. We can make it through this, so let's hang together! We got this!! Good LUck!

    Compliments

They are calling me the "disappearing act" at work and I know they are just full of it. I have lost 20 lbs, but it isn't super noticeable at this point. I know people mean well, so I try to smile and say thanks. I just don't take compliments well, due to self esteem issues, and I come across as "putting my self down" when someone gives me one. It makes me feel uncomfortable.

    Mental hunger

I'm the same way.....sometimes I mentally want something, but know I'm not actually hungry. I think this could be the worse part of my band. Other than that issue, I have been pleased. As far as Pasta, I read over my 3 week post op diet that I started Thursday and both pasta and rice are on it. I actually had a couple bites of past on Friday and I tolerated it fine. I had rice on Thursday and it didn't pose a problem. These aren't foods that I will be eating on a regular basis, but it doesn't hurt to have a bite or two from time to time. I am trying to cut back on carbs. Smelling the popcorn at the movies last night nearly killed me! The smell was so great!

No BM for over a week

I am 3 weeks post op but suffered with both gas and constipation. It was horrible for me because I have always been so "regular." I am a big fan of miralax. I mix in a bottle of Water with a packet of crystal light and usually drink it mid morning. It's great and keeps me regular. For gas, I use the GasX Strips. They seem to work for me. Hopefully, this too shall pass for us after our bodies adjust. Good luck on your journey!
  16. Sounds very similar to the way I was at 5 days post op. I am now 11 days post op and I still have a lot of bruising around my port incision and the one to the upper right side of my navel. I can feel my port, but only if I press in on my stomach. I guess I have enough paddng to cover mine up as well! Good luck and things will get better!
  17. i have that same pain and am 2 weeks post op today, but mine is in my left side which is where my port is at. I have been thinking mine is port related.
  18. I am two weeks post op today and have been told to start eating soft foods. I am just needing to know portion sizes. About how many ounces total per meal do you try to get in? At this point, I am not overly hunger but can tell it is coming back compared to what I was right after surgery. I am afraid I am not eating enough right now, but at the same time I don't want to overdo it.

    Not eating much

I became a popsicle addict. I didn't eat hardly anything the first week and I was fine. I just started my third week diet today that consists of soft foods and I'm trying to eat a little more. Overall, I can say that gas was by far the worst part of this whole experience. Just walk a lot and it will help. Gas-X strips are also a lifesaver.....get you some of those. You will begin eating more as time goes by, but don't rush it. I bet I haven't taken in over 300 calories a day since the 16th of this month, but I know I need to change that and I am working on it. Good luck on your journey!
  20. As I progress into eating more mushie/soft foods, I am wondering what approach would be the best to take. I do keep calories in mind and watch them too, but I am mostly just concentrating on smaller portions. I mean I wouldn't make a meal out of a dab of cheesecake, a dab of chocolate pie, a dab of ice cream, etc! I try to be smart about my food choices. What approach works best for you guys long term?
  21. I am scared that I have messed something up, but then again I might just be overreacting. I worked in the yard quite a bit last night and lifted one of those big water hose caddies on wheels before I thought about it. I was fine today until about 3 PM and I noticed I was more sore than usual in my port area. It's okay when I'm still, but when I move it just feels like a pulled muscle. Also, my whole abdominal/stomach area is pretty swollen now. I am not sure if I pulled something last night or if I am just bloated because it's about to be my time of the month and also I haven't had a bowel movement in a couple days. I know this is TMI, but I'm worried since I'm so bloated looking. Anyone had this problem??

    Pain

I am doing the exact same thing, but I haven't had my first fill yet. Surgery for me was two weeks ago. My port site hurts really bad, but my doctor tells me it's normal, so I'm trying not to worry about it.
  23. I lifted something last night and I think I pulled something around my port. I can't take a deep breath or it hurts. Hoping it's just a pulled muscles and not permanent damage!
  24. I had my surgery 6/16 too, so it sounds like what I'm doing is probably normal. I think I might just be too paranoid!
