  1. Hi Fellow Sleevers, I may be a little early but I wanted to start planning and saving. How soon after the sleeve surgery did you have plastic surgery? Also, how much weight did you lose before you completed plastic surgery? I know this is personal, but if you don't mind sharing (I know this will help a lot of us).... What plastics did you have completed? What was the cost? Thank you!!
  2. Torose, I am not sure if I am doing anything "special" or different. I try to eat my Protein (60g) , then vegetable, then starch. I also try to drink 64 ounces of Water, very little juice and I don't drink soda. I try to work out everyday but realistically, I average 3-4 days per week on the elipitical, for 25 minutes. I don't eat more than 1 cup of food per meal. I eat 3-4 meals per day and I eat fruits. I don't drink alcohol, also. I attend a monthly support meeting, visit my dietician and doctor, for follow-up visits and tests. Also, I try to track my food and exercise on www.MyFitnessPal.com.
  3. CaliKat, Thank you!! Your advice makes sense.
  4. Hi Fellow Sleevers, I am considering hiring a personal trainer. I need some advise. How much should I expect to pay per hour? (I live in the Atlanta, Georgia area.) How often should work out with the trainer, for maximum effect? Your recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thanks!
  5. You look wonderful! Congratulations!
  6. Congratulations!! You look amazing!
  7. MovingtoForward Please, please, don't get too frustrated. I was sleeved on 02/20/12. I understand. Yes, it is frustrating to compare. However, there are lots of variables to consider such as the starting weight, age, sex etc. For example, the more you have to lose, the faster you will lose. Ok, so you lost 35 pounds from date after surgery and 28 pounds from the pre-op weight all in 10 WEEKS. I think that is amazing. 2.8-3.5 pounds per week! Also, please remember to consider that you may be losing inches instead of pounds. For me, one of the things I have noticed is that when my weight loss stalled, my clothes started to fall off. I say, look at the positive changes. We sure didn't gain the weight immediately. We will get there!!
  8. The nurses were excellent. I am not going to lie. I did wake up in extreme pain and I asked for pain killer immediately. They gave me a morphine shot and then attached a morphine drip that helped tremendously.
  9. I read it. Excellent, quick read! I recommend it.
  10. Hello MRMroma, I am doing very well. I spoke to Dr. Srinivasan twice before surgery and I asked her several questions. I was very comfortable with her responses. She was very knowledgable. In addition, my cardiologist and gastroenterologist knew her personally and professionally and highly recommended her. That confrimed any doubts I had.
  11. Hi LilMissDiva, Girl you are an inspiration to the max, do you hear me? I am going to research P90X. Right now I am just walking but after I get clearance from my doctor, I will be ready for this!!.... I think. I think I can, I think I can....
  12. I started using it 5 weeks after surgery. I asked my surgeon first and I felt like my body was ready. Initially, she said that 10 pounds should be safe.
  13. Thank you! BTW, you are my sheroe. I hope to lose all my excess weight with such enthusiasm.
  14. I am 6 weeks post-op. My surgery date was February 20, 2012.
  15. I bought one of those weights that attach to your arm (5 pounds each). I have been using them, for one week now, while I "power" walk. Do you know if those work?
  16. You will do fine! Please let me know if you have more questions.
  17. Hi Pteri, I think I remember you from one of support group meeting with the dietician, Megan. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Srinivasan. She explained the procedure thoroughly and answered all my questions. Also, right before surgery, while I was under anaesthesia, she explained the procedure to my mother. That made a big difference since my mother was not 100% supportive at first. My mother was so supportive after. Additionally, right after surgery she allowed my mother and daughter to visit me. I also had my first after surgery follow-up visit with her yesterday and again she listened and answered all my questions. She is excellent!! Also, she came highly recommended by my doctors that performed by EGD and my stress and echo tests. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I will be happy to help.
  18. Day 3 of Protein shakes. I am not as hungry. I had the Jello and it helped a lot. Thank you, thank you! ShoeLover and Sabrina140 please let's keep in contact so that we can share our experiences. I am still trying to learn the features of the site.
