    Nightline "weigh Less Drink More"

I decided when i had the surgery that i would not be doing any drinking ever again. My dad was an alchoholic so why tempt fate? I did start biting my nails since the surgery but have since quit....I have to sit back and really think before I do anything. I also became slightly addicted to chocolate but have kicked that bad habit. I was eating peanut M & M's like they were goin' outta style!

    037

I just saw this now. My start weight was 210. My bmi was 37. I have lost 82 pounds thus far and as of today I'm 2 weeks away from my one year surgiversary. I was not beautiful while i was fat but it was not my weight it was my dissatisfaction with my self that made me ugly from within. Weight is just weight it depends on your mindset and how you feel about yourself that matters most. I have a cousin who is morbidly obese and completely happy with herself from within and would never change a thing about herself...she's perfectly happy as she is. I think being happy is what makes you beautiful....

    Anyone Regret Your Sleeve?

I'm 11 months out and I had regrets only the first two days like OMG what the hell did I do to myself. But now i'm so happy that I did it there is no regret in my mind that would ever have me question this surgery. I know that now when you are not eating regular foods its really really frustrating but eventually you will be eating again and say to yourself "I'm so grateful and thankful that I did this so that I won't die from obesity related problems" and that my friend is a FACT!

    Post-Op Cravings And Discouraged!

I'm almost a year out and my saving grace was instant mashed potato with a bit of fat free shredded cheddar....once you get on your mushies that will be like heaven for you! In the days of liquids my doctor allowed me fat free sugar free ice cream and I had that with a dollap of fat free sugar free whipped cream and sugar free chocolate syrup....like a sundae. It was fantastic and felt so good cold and sliding down my hurting belly:) You can do this momma! Don't sweat it AT ALL! the hard part is maintaining without getting out of control. This past week I lost control at my class end of the year party and I just put myself on the 5 day pouch test to get my head back in the right place.....we are all here to support each other and if you have any questions at all you feel free to ask as I have been through all of this already! Also, when you get on to mushies another great option is refried beans in the can topped with fat free sour cream, a bit of guac and some fat free shredded cheddar and some mild salsa yumbo! and just two tablespoons and I was done. I also (and still do) live on sunflower seeds. I ate those at about three weeks out and have been hooked ever since. They are a great source of fiber, protein and magnesium.....so delish

    Bad Timing And Regret

Also, have patience....God will work wonders for you if you just have faith. "Oh you who believe! Seek help with patient perseverance and prayer, for God is with those who patiently persevere." (2:153) "Be sure We shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods, lives, and the fruits of your toil. But give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. Those who say, when afflicted with calamity, 'To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return.' They are those on whom descend blessings from their Lord, and mercy. They are the ones who receive guidance." (2:155-157) "No one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint, none but persons of the greatest good fortune." (41:35) Kisses and love to you:)

    Bad Timing And Regret

Hey Desert Mom, It's been a while since we went for coffee but I need to tell you a few things that we didn't get to discuss while out and maybe I didn't support you as you needed, my sister here in Dubai. First of all, the surgery is not a magic fix, it seems it might be that way for those people who take off weight quickly and that certainly might make you feel discouraged at times. However, stop looking at your scale, eat the smart way, log your food entries and keep a positive outlook. the surgery CANNOT fail you unless YOU are doing something wrong. So don't hate the sleeve, work the sleeve. Stop going on these crazy liquid diets, get your protein, go walking or swimming (light excercise), drink your water (if you are like me and don't like water then drink your tea with agave syrup and low fat milk for extra protein and calcium). Stop beating yourself up, take good care of yourself both physically and emotionally, don't put ANY expectations on this, just flow. Stop feeding into the negative people who are on this site and maybe you have met in person, block it OUT. And darling come have a cup of coffee with me sometime you live half hour from me let's meet up it sounds like you need some practical and positive advice:) CALL ME!
