    Wine

I was told 1 month. I didn't want anything until that point anyway. I used to drink about three glasses of wine on a weekend night before my op, but now one is definitely enough! I did go out for Halloween to a party, and drank three glasses of wine and one shot over the course of an evening. Although I didn't feel all that drunk I did have the most terrible hangover the next day, so I won't make that mistake again!

    Halloween 2010 - 7 weeks out and down 28lb!

I look grumpy as hell, but it was meant to be a sinister face! Haha. I'm happy really!!!!
  4. All the best for today. I hope they sort things out. We're all thinking of you xx

  5. Hey KKB! I haven't been around for a while, but I just saw that you've had some problems. I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope things are improving, and I'm thinking of you. Big hugs! xx

  6. I have heard many people having buyers remorse just after their op, and people having the feeling "what have I done?" Up to now I hadn't experienced it, and didn't imagine I ever would. But all of a sudden I am overcome with fear and could really use some support. Before the operation I told myself that I would rather die than be so obsessed with food and weight all my life. The risk was worth it. Now I am not sure. What if something goes wrong with my sleeve? I am definitely not in the green zone yet, I'm only 5 days out. What if there are long term side effects which will negatively affect my health, which we don't know about yet. Why the hell wasn't I strong enough to deal with this problem naturally, and pull myself together? I am 26 and want a family. What if I never make it to that point because of the foolish and lazy choices I have made? What if something happens to me. My family are going to be distraught, I will have put them through pain and upset for my own selfish reasons. Because I couldn't get my act together. I just feel like a fool right now. And I am angry with myself. And terrified of the consequences. Please help me get through this. :crying:

    First AFTER pics

Thanks Doug, I was very depressed pre-op as I had really let myself go and didn't truly believe even this would work for me. I am definitely 100% happier already, and it just keeps getting better. x

    BEFORE & DURING

  16. Hey guys, I asked a while ago if anyone had experienced a yucky mucus at the back of the throat a few weeks out. There were suggestions of allergies or that I may have caught a cold, but I'm really not sure. I am now almost a month out and still having the same problem. I went to the pharmacy today and had real trouble explaining how it feels... It is NOT a cough, there is nothing on my chest I feel like I need to clear my throat and nose all the time, but nothing ever comes out I keep having a big thick clump of phlegm in the back of my throat which I can't bear to spit out because it feels so horrid, so I am swallowing it and then my tummy gurgles lots and I feel sick. I am having trouble eating because I feel like my stomach is full of this slimy stuff. Sorry for the TMI, it's so gross! Reading some other posts it sounds a lot like the "sliming" which some people experience when eating too much or too fast. But it is there all the time. Maybe I should go to my Doctor? The pharmacist gave me some tablets for congestion and catarrh but they don't seem to be making any difference.... Any advice would be much appreciated! Yours slimily xxx

    Pills POSTOP?

I was allowed to start taking small tablets and capsules from day 5. But it seems that I was fast tracked in most things, was on mushies by day 4. I am now almost a month out and took some pain killers for a headache today and they were a bit bigger than what I've had so far and it was pretty uncomfortable. So I would say go with dissolvables if you can! Good luck x

    Insomnia and Itchiness

I think I've heard that the anaesthetic can cause itchiness? Not sure how long it stays in your system, but I did get some random rashes for a few weeks after my op. Hope you feel better soon! x

    What is WRONG WITH ME???

    *Huuuuuuuuuuuge hugsssssssssss*
  20. Hey Guys I'm now just over two weeks and I have the following points to note: I'm down two sizes already! I went for lunch today and was totally satisfied on about a quarter of a starter portion of prawns and avocado! I'm all of a sudden interested in clothes and shoes again! I've started to wear lipstick again! My spots are clearing up! I splashed out on some posh body firming moisturiser! I no longer have a nap during the day whenever I can! I'm smiling more! And the biggest and most wonderful change of all - I feel at peace :biggrin0: I no longer feel like I am constantly fighting against my urges and cravings. I don't feel like my body and my brain are having a tug of war. I no longer feel angry and bitter about my weight. I feel wonderful!:001_wub::biggrin0::lol0::thumbup: Hooray for the sleeve! I hope some of you share the same happiness now or with time. xxxxx
  21. Wow, congratulations! You look so great. You were pretty before anyhow, but you look much happier and healthier now. Way to go!!!! xxxx

    Feeling like a new woman!

I had another great moment today!! The guys in my office do a weekly run to the bakery on the corner. In the past I have always accepted a cake, eaten it, then felt guilty for the rest of the day, OR I would have tried to be good and said "no thanks", then sulked for the rest of the day because I felt deprived. However, today was the first time EVER that I said "nothing for me thanks" and actually meant it! I didn't want anything, and didn't feel angry and bitter watching everyone eating theirs when they arrived. This tool is such a blessing. I hope I never take it for granted.

    Is this heartburn?

Tums and Rennies do nothing for me, but GAVISCON does the trick. It's sugar free and not too disgusting. I'd definitely recommend it.
  24. Hey! I'm glad it went well for you. I had a pretty good day too. Everyone said they can see a difference already and I look really well. Back to the old routine! xxx
