Thanks all for your support. Got a bit of a temperature now and my tummy is pretty sore. But hopefully I'll feel better soon. xxx
  7. So I've got two more sleeps til I head to Southampton for my op!!! I can't believe how quick it has come. Still two more days of work (it's a nightmare, I am having a terrible time concentrating and keep making mistakes) I have to have my bag packed ready in the car, and head straight to the airport after work. When I arrive, I'm staying in a B&B Wednesday night, and have to be at Spire Hospital at 6.30am on Thursday. I am SO nervous that there might be fog and I won't be able to get off the island. I don't know what is going to happen if I can't get away. I guess I will have to hope there will be an early flight on Thursday morning and I can go straight to the hospital, but I definitely won't get there until at least 9am which probably means I'll be last on the surgeon's list. That would suck! So please please wish me luck that there is no fog, and everything goes to plan. I reckon if we all think hard enough, we can clear the clouds  And for those of you who are on your pre-op, or just looking into your options and due for your first consultation ... don't fret, time flies! I can't believe how quickly it has come around, it seems like only yesterday I first started researching. Big hugs to everyone. Here we go!!!!

    Gaming Sleevers

I played FFXI for approx 5 years. It sucked so much of my time, and although I loved everything about it, I made myself quit about a year ago. Now I'm just playing offline on the XBOX 360, I absolutely adore Mass Effect, Red Dead Redemption and Fable II. Can't wait for American McGee's Alice 2, Fable III, and Portal 2 next year!!!
  9. It's all done I am now 18 hrs post-op! It was over so quick, I went in at 11.30 and was awake by 1pm. I felt truly sick when I woke up and kept retching, cos I had a tube down the back of my nose into my stomach. But once that passed I've been feeling pretty good considering. Haven't slept too well tonight because of chest pains. Nurse did an ECG and all was fine, so we're blaming gas for now. I got told off for hammering the morphine button though! Haha. All my blood pressure and everything is fine. But my blood sugar went up because I have a sugar Water drip in, so they gave me some insulin to bring it back down. My throat is pretty sore from the tube I had in, but I'm allowed to sip tiny bits of water and I think I'm having some consomme for lunch in a few hours so something warm will be nice I'll update you again soon when I'm feeling a bit more with it. xxxx
  10. Thanks guys. I slept very well actually! Dropped off about 9.30pm and only woke up a couple of times to check the clock, then fell straight back to sleep. Now typing from my hospital bed, still pre op, but I've been told I am due in second. So approx 10.30am if all goes to plan. My room is nice, the staff are very friendly and reassuring without being condescending. So far I am very impressed with Spire! I've had my blood pressure done, blood sugar tested and been given some pain killers and anti-inflammatory and anti-sickness tablets in anticipation. The anaesthetist is due to come in soon. My parents have been here with me so far and are about to head back to the B&B for some Breakfast. Not long now!!! See you on the other side!!!! :D
  11. Stacy160, I am due in for my op in approx 12 hours, and I've been researching and reading these forums for over four months. I can safely say yours is the most inspiring and reassuring post I have seen yet. Thank you for making me sleep a little easier tonight

    Counting the hours...12 more

Best of luck!!! I hope it all goes smoothly for you. I wish I knew what time I am in tomorrow... Congratulations on your sleeve! xx
  13. I made it! The flight went fine, and I'm now sat in my B&B in Southampton. Going to the hospital first thing in the morning. Thanks everyone for keeping the fog at bay!
  14. Thank you for the message! :) x

  15. You guys are awesome. Thank you SO much for the kind words. I have decided to take my laptop to the hospital with me in case I need support. This forum has been such a crutch for me these past few months. Don't know what I'd do without you! *sniff* LOL Chilo - it's good to hear someone else here was done at a Spire Hospital. I'm glad you had a good experience. Mine has been A1 so far. Let's hope it continues that way! :thumbup1: xxx
  16. Nope, don't think I know her :) You're quite a bit younger than me, but my boyfriend might know her!

Wow, not long for you too. So exciting! I might take my laptop with me so I can update and have the board for support if I need it.

I will see you on the losers bench very soon! xx

  17. Hey Sleeveorbust! Thanks for your lovely message :) I am due in on the 9th, so in two days time! I am very nervous.

I can't believe you went to Uni with someone from Guernsey!! Who is it? This is such a small island, I might know them!!!

  18. Thanks everyone for the kind words! I finally got the guts to put up some "before" pics too, so hopefully it won't be long before I can put some "after" ones up too! Woohoo! Best of luck to you too Meriteri. I look forward to hearing how it goes! xxx

    Hi - I'm a newbe

    Tomorrow is SLEEVE DAY!

Hey Sleeve4Me! Just wanted to check in and say hi, and I hope you're holding up. Remember to take it easy today, you said you would! :confused1: I've really enjoyed seeing your updates as I'm coming up soon too and it's great to hear what I can expect first hand. Thinking I should take my laptop with me so I can come on here whilst I'm in hospital if I need some support! Look after yourself, and congrats on 199!!!! xxxx
  24. Hi There, I have also been struggling. You are not alone! I've been extremely hungry and feeling weak and dizzy a lot of the time. I called the nutritionist to ask if this is normal and she never called me back I guess we just have to keep reminding ourselves that this isn't for much longer. I haven't cheated yet, but I have come close... (made some microwave popcorn, then threw the whole bag straight in the bin) Stay strong, if I can do it, so can you. Best of luck :confused1: xxx

    now there's a side-effect I didn't expect!!

Hahahahah! Awesome thread! I know my boyfriend is going to be ecstatic when my sex drive returns. I know that especially over the past year I have been avoiding it because I feel undesirable. Great to know that will change very soon! Oh and Jonathan Rhys Meyer.... YES PLEASE!!!!!! Blimey he's hot. Here is my little crumpet of the moment, who I am going to see in November in concert. I'm hoping to get standing tickets as he is known to crowd surf, and I'd quite like to attempt a grab at his man bits! LMAO! Jared Letoooooooooo
