    Soooo encouraged!

WOW good luck Kim! 4 year olds! I hope you are able to keep them from bouncing into you too much! I had a home preschool for 3 years. I totally agree...attitude is definitely half or more of the battle!!! Good luck to everyone!!! WOOT WOOT.....I have less than two weeks now!!!!!

    Soooo encouraged!

Amy, So good to hear that! I hope I'm as lucky to have as little pain as you. I am really encouraged. I don't hear many bad stories on here...I mean there are a few...but I'm always positive it won't be me. Did you have good pain meds while still in hospital and after? The only time I had a bad surgery...was when the Doctor wouldn't let me have anything but ibuprofen after my second C-section. butthead dr! Thanks so much for sharing your experience!!!!! I will be watching your ticker fall! Good luck! ((hugs)) Dawn, I too will be in school the week of my surgery. Maybe not as much as you...but have tue thur class and will have surgery on Friday and then night class on Tuesday night. I think we will be OK. Just have to try to take it as easy as possible. I don't know what age you help teach...but just try to take it easy. Try not to get upset at the kids.......Good luck...I have my surgery 4 days after you. ((hugs))

    Musical Chairs...

Khy, That kind of swing in the scheduling would make anyone wonder. But remember on surgery day...you will be asked probably 10 times by each person what you are there for. No worries. You will be tired of saying you are there for VSG by the time they actually do the procedure. NO WORRIES
  4. Thanks so much Lisa! Good luck to you too!
  5. Lynn, How exciting to have your own daughter as a "sleeve sister". Very exciting. Hopefully your daughter can get back on track with you, but still 60lbs is a lot of difference. You sharing her experience will help us know what to beware of. I could see how grazing could become a negative. Good luck to you! Can't wait to hear about your progress and your story!!!

    Post-Op Day 3

Leslie, You are doing great!!!! I'm betting everyone has a little buyers remorse when we wake up in pain. It is probably just normal. No one likes to be in pain. You are doing great and you will keep feeling better and better! Keep us up to date on how you are feeling! You are already down 10 lbs and it will keep going...you are only going to feel better and better and lighter and lighter! ((hugs))
  8. Vanessa, If I could have done it when I was 20 I would have. Hind sight is 20/20 and I would totally do it. I would have saved myself a lot of heart ache and a lot of money spent on diet plans and foods etc! Good luck to you. Your nerves are normal. My surgery is July 29th and I still have days where I'm shaking in my boots. I haven't had a nightmare yet...but I wouldn't be surprised if I did! Good luck Vanessa! Keep thinking your Happy Thoughts!! You can do this!!! ((hugs))
  9. This is exactly why I am not telling hardly anyone. All those things you have said...I can hear my friends and family saying. I have told 3 people. My husband (who is supportive of whatever decision I have made because he has seen how my weight has devastated me throughout our 18 years together and how hard I've tried and struggled to lose and gain and lose and gain), Told my BFF of 25 years who had Lap band about a year ago, and told a really good friend who is the same size as me....she said she loved me the way I am...and I told her "This is for ME" no one else but me. So, If a really close friend disagreed I can't imagine what my thin friends who don't understand would say. So, I'm just gonna keep it to myself and these 3. That doesn't help you much with your problem sorry! The others had excellent advice!!! This is for you and your health....it doesn't matter what everyone else things!!! We will always be here to listen too!!! ((hugs)) We are always here...vent away!!!

    Pre-surgery NSV

Sheila!!! THAT IS INCREDIBLE!!!!! You should be so proud of yourself!!!! Unfortunately I have no NSV's to report at this time as far as weight goes. But, I was recently accepted into a very prestigious Veterinary Technician program and start August 29th. I start my pre op diet tomorrow and I'm hoping that I will have some scale victories before my surgery on the 29th. I don't think I'll lose enough to have NSV's but we shall see! I'm so proud of you....keep up the great work!
  13. Silver lining is doing a solo performance tomorrow. Good luck! Sending you healthy, happy, healing vibes for tomorrow! ((hugs))

    Liquid Diet - Day 4

Hey Kim, Sounds like you are doing great. I start my Pre Op diet on Saturday! It is good to know it is doable. What does your liquid diet consist of? I hope it stays easy and you lose a bunch before surgery.
  16. Congratulations on everything! You have been through some trials over the past few years. Thanks for sharing your story and I'm so glad to know you are living in the light of life again! It only gets better from here! ((hugs))
  17. is finding babysitters for everything. With the kids home all summer I'm finding it hard to find people to watch them. I will be starting Veterinary Tech school the end of August. I start a 6 week summer Psychology class tomorrow night and hubby just happens to leaving tomorrow for the weekend. So, really can't find anyone to watch my kids for four hours tomorrow night. It stresses me out. Then finding someone to watch them for the pre op appointments next week and for the surgery in two weeks so hubby can be with me. I am a secret sleever and have no family here. So, makes it extra difficult. I know it will be OK...but it stresses me out. I hate asking favors from friends (just the way I am...would rather help than ask help)....and they are in and out for summer vacations. Oh and it seems like I'm always here to help...but when I ask help they are always busy for some reason or another. POOP! Sorry...just had to vent for a few minutes.

    Recently Sleeved

I don't know what is normal..everyone is different, but I've heard others say on here that the weight loss is better when they get lots of protein in (low carb) and drink lots of pure water. You are still early out. You probably should just concentrate on staying hydrated and healing still at this point. Good luck to you!

    Back at home

Glad you are home, Nancy!!!! Take it easy even though you feel well. Don't want to pull anything! Keep us updated on how you are doing!

    Hardest thing now for me...

Thanks so much Wendy! How are you feeling? How is everything going for you?
  24. AutumnBlueCarmen

    Hey July 27th Sleevers!!!

A small pillow IS an awesome idea!!! I love having my own pillows from home at the hospital too. When you've had surgery you can't have enough pillows to prop yourself up and get comfy and also....to help you get out of bed. Thanks so much MLD for the reminder! I have 14 more days of waiting after today....not counting surgery day of course.
