Having a weak moment or two

Thanks everyone! I'm feeling mostly good these days. I had another little pity party on our little mini vacation to Sea World over the weekend. Normally would have pigged out and drank lots of soda on a trip like that. It was emotional...but I survived...part of learning to live anew. I've had a few stressful episodes over the last two weeks too. Man that was extra hard to deal with....when normally stressed I would pig out on some fast food and get a nice big cherry coke to down my blues. I'm learning not to eat my feelings....but it sure feels weird!!!!! I hope everyone is doing well. ((hugs)) Carmen
  2. So, I just broke down and cried. I don't even really know exactly why. I slept really late today and so was weak when I got up for lunch. I ate lunch with hubby and was feeling weak and after I ate felt a little sick and decided to lay down. Texting hubby to wake me up after an hour.....he asked what happened....I thought you felt good at lunch and I just broke down. I don't know what is wrong. I'm not hungry....a little tired and a little woozy headed..but not hungry. I guess I'm having a little buyers remorse. Don't know if it is me or just hubby not understanding what I'm going through...but I just don't feel very emotionally strong right this minute. :,/

how much damage i'm i doing???

I say more calories too! I would be very very very tired on 340 calories. Can you do another shake later in the day or get a higher calorie shake like Libbe said? It sounds like you are doing ok in the protein department. When I first read your post...was worried you wouldn't be getting enough protein. You are doing OK but guess it could be better. I agree this is a transition period for us....when we are a month out...things should get easier.

Oh and on top of that...I'm dealing with all that and my scale keeps inching it's way back up. I'm up to 222.8 now...after having a low of 219.6. I'm frustrated!

    Roll call

OH yeah Reb.....I made my own beef stew. I normally make it with chunks of beef...but I used hamburger meat instead to make it easier to blend. It is yummy. Let me know if you want the recipe when your time comes.

Hey Garden Diva! I hope all turns out well...with Dr. Almanza. There are always going to be a few bad things happen....you just have to look at the good. I'm stalled out like you Leah. Trying not to get frustrated. I didn't think this would happen to me. I'm usually a pretty fast loser when I stop eating like this.....but I am also contributing it to not pooping enough and adding in REAL food. Was a little sad tonight. Hubby said I need to cut out the slushies....I know he is right...but at this point...I say I need them for now and they stay. I only have one every other day or so. He is a drill seargent

I'm here! I'm 9 days post op! I feel really good. I have so much energy now...I am amazed. I don't want to take naps anymore. My tummy is still a little sore and man oh man is it itchy!!!! I've been eating about 4 times a day. I haven't seemed to have any problems with any of the soft foods I have been eating. I even had a little cornbread mixed in crumbled and wet and mushy with my blended beef stew and still no problems. I've been very careful so far to stop eating when I feel full. Man...is it weird that 1 or 2 onces of food can make you full. I've been drinking a lot of tea. Watermelon slushies from Sonic helped me make it through the first week post op. If it hadn't been for those I don't know what I would have done. I'd really like to hear what everyone else is eating. So far...I'm eating cottage cheese...chewed really well Blenderized beef stew Potato Soup and chicken tortilla soup from Walmart Deli..very thin...and chunks very mushy Junk food is really easy to go down...I've had a couple packets of fun size M&M's An egg over easy with shredded cheese melted on top My husbands refried Beans from his taco bueno meal. Whenever I get wooshie headed I try to eat more Protein...like cottage cheese....sometimes I resort to a protein bullet....BLECK!!!! I lost about 15 lbs and now...I think since starting "real" food....I have stalled out and gone back up a few pounds. Which I think is mostly from (TMI alert) not eating enough to actually poop on a regular basis. Think the weight just builds up in there. LOL I'm frustrated by the scale not moving....but trying to realize....I'm hardly eating and it will eventually have to start going again. I did measure myself the other night. So, I'll have more to go on. You guys need to give me more details on how things are going for you. I'm dying to vacuum! weird I know...but gotta wait at least til friday. I've been walking....going on strolls at night with hubby. Can't wait to hear from you all! Carmen

The first week did suck!!!!!!! I'm glad I'm passed that first week. Even very little blended food is so much better than liquids! UGGG!

    I'm home!

Hey all! I'm doing well. I just finished up a world wind week. I had a test, quiz, lots of reading and a paper due all while trying to heal and stay awake for it all. I have the next 5+ days of no classwork....I'm not gonna know what to do with myself. I'm so happy and feel so light! I think I might float away. Anyway, I had my 1 week check up today. I am down almost 15 lbs or 17. You know the whole clothes no clothes thing. I am feeling good. My incisions are good. I moved on to blenderized foods today and am very very happy to have real food even if it is mushy and blended. I hope I can spend some of my free time over the next few days catching up on all you wonderful people I hope all is well with everyone. Carmen

    I'm home!

I got home just a few hours ago and took a nap. I am feeling OK...just a little uneasy. Can't really complain about much...just an uneasy feeling...don't know what to do with myself. Having a little trouble getting my fluids down....just really don't want anything. I don't want to get dehydrated though either. I'll up date you all more later. I think I'm going to take my uneasy back to bed!
  13. How are you feeling these days? You are about 4 days ahead of me.....what are you eating that is helping you the most? :) I hope you are well!

  14. I'm doing well! How about you? sorry I went MIA...been trying to heal and keep my head above water in my class too! How are you doing? I'm having a little bit of a hard time with head hunger this week. I think it will be better once I can have more than liquids next week...hopefully starting tomorrow. Tell me about you!?

  15. I'm feeling really well at this point...No hunger...Not much pain at all...but NO ENERGY!!!! Zip Zilch Zero Energy. My question to you all is should I try a protein bullet this early in the game. I have class in two days and worried about not being able to finish my class work. reading, paper, quiz and a test all this week. Class isn't until Tuesday. Just wondering if protein bullet would be pushing things I don't want to push. TIA for your input.

  20. Hey all, For the most part I'm handling everything well. I'm keeping myself distracted but I really can't believe my surgery is this Friday. My biggest fear is that my cute angelic chubby cheek face will get saggy. I feel pretty silly thinking that...but it is a thought and I looked in the mirror this morning and had that common fear tingle all over my body. UGGGGG! I'm not worried about the surgery at all. I'm a surgery pro. Hubby was all worried last night that I would get skinny and hotter and leave him. I reassured him that he is the only man for me...but he is still afraid. :/ I'm freaking a little....but will be OK. I've been pleasantly plump my entire adult life. Since I put on the freshmen 30. I admit I am a little afraid of what being skinny will feel like and worry about the extra attention it will bring. In the past I have sabotaged myself because of all the attention. Have lost the same 30 lbs over an over and gained it back I didn't like the attention. Anyone else...need a buddy to help work through these similar thoughts as we start getting "skinny".
  21. Thanks so much for thinking of me Lisa! Good luck on August 1st! Keep in touch...feel free to e-mail me! :) Carmen

  22. I'm doing well golf buddy! I've lost a little over 6 lbs so far. I'm mostly liquid diet. I get two small high protein meals a day and it is a good thing too, I think, because I've already dropped my calorie intake by at least 1000 cal dropping soda. Please feel free to e-mail me! autumnbluecarmen@gmail.com It would be nice to have a support buddy as we heal and start this new journey. :)
