    Excited, Scared, Embarrassed,Anxoius

I think all those emotions are Normal! I'm so very anxious today. I'm 5'3" and 230 right now. I feel a lot the same as you. I know I could probably lose weight again, but I've done it so many times before....I know I'll never have the will power to keep it off on my own without having the sleeve as a tool. I'm at my highest weight...but I've gone up to 199 and down to 165 many times over the last 15 years and then when I stop doing the work...it all comes back on. It is hard work and the Sleeve will help those like us so much. I JUST CANT WAIT TO GET MY APPROVAL!!! IS IT NEXT THUR YET????? LOL I can't wait to see your progress! Good luck!

    Victoria Secrets

I used to have a couple of sets of panties/bras from VS.....and the only thing they were used for was to turn hubby on. I never ever ever wore them on a daily basis....they were too uncomfortable....even when I dieted down to a decent size. I'm all about the Warner or Warren? Bras from Kohls!

    Ignorance!

    Is it bad that my first though was to put my heel out behind me and trip him? :}

    before And after

You were beautiful then and you are beautiful and healthy now!
  10. I have and will only tell my hubby and a 2 close friends. Even one of my close friends said to me that she thought it wouldn't be healthy and that she loved me the way I am. @.@ To which I answered that This is FOR ME! I will not be telling anyone other than those 3. I moved to TX almost a year ago and my new friends will either not understand or be judgmental. This is for me...it is my secret weapon and there is no reason to tell anyone. When asked what I am doing to lose weight...I will say that I gave up all soda, low carbing and exercising....which won't be lies. I just will omit my WLS. They do not need to know. It will be apparent that I am eating a lot less and drinking lots of water! This is for you...it is not wrong for you to tell or not tell whoever you wish!!!!
  11. Congratulations! I like the rest wish I could have done it at 19. I would have saved a lot of money on diet plans and diet food and probably my body a lot of distress! I'm so excited for you and can't wait to see all your results....please keep us up to date on your progress.
  12. You look great! You have a wonderfully infectious smile!

    New Addiction?

You are all so funny! I'm not really hoping to switch out addictions. I'm a Soda addict right now...real soda. Cherry Coke and Dr. Pepper to be exact. I am hoping an good easy transition to Tea...with very little or no Sugar. I'm already working on that. I CANNOT wait to get into some smaller clothes in my closet that I already love. I'm actually very very excited about the idea of goodwill and resale shops. There will be so many more cheap clothing options as a smaller person. Even the clearance rack at many clothing stores. They never have the right size in the clearance now. Good luck to all...and don't hurt yourselves too much exercising or extreme shopping. Wouldn't want you to sprain an ankle fighting over the last pair of size 4 6 or 8 designer jeans!
  15. Kelly is right.....self searching is always good. A great book to read and work through is "the feeling good handbook" by Burns. It has been around a long time and is great for self esteem and dealing with other and their opinions. Good luck!
  16. Lisa, It is what it is! My favorite saying right now for some reason . Your roommate is right and she is wrong at the same time. Not knowing her I can't say her true intentions...but do make sure you tell her that you are going to need support through this and that her having a positive attitude will only help you. If she can't be positive then you definitely need a new roommate. Good luck, You will do great. Surgery won't fix your brain, but with the right attitude you can get that right too.

    excited yet nervous

Hi Big Sexxy, I'm so excited for you! This surgery will change your life. You will do great! As far as the boot camp, I would say not to do anything that will overexert you and possibly hurt you or your joints. The boot camp classes we have here are pretty intense! It is just my opinion...but I think just some simple walking or low impact would be better for now. I need to take my own advice...because I know in the past I've gone full force TaeBo and things. I can't wait for my surgery and start a new chapter in my life. I can't wait to see how you progress! Good luck Girl!!!

    Tough Texan/scared to death

Hey Tex, I hope to have the same surgery date ast you. Just wanted to let you know there are others out there on the same exact path and we will do just fine. Good luck to you on the 3 weeks. It will be hard...but so worth it.
  22. Hi everyone, My name is Carmen. I'm 37 yo, 5' 3" and almost 230lbs. I'm a carb and soda-aholic. I eat when I'm happy, sad, lonely, bored etc. I am so looking forward to ending my life long struggle with weight and using the sleeve as a great tool to get hold of my eating habits. I am hoping to schedule my sleeve surgery mid July...already had a band surgery scheduled for Thur, July 21 and changed my mind. I'm hoping insurance passes and all will be the same and I can move my surgery to July 22 when my doc does sleeves on Fridays. I DO NOT PLAN to tell anyone. I have already told the few I'm telling and they include my husband and two very close friends. One who did give me a hard time about it not being healthy and she loves me the way I am....and the other friend who currently has the band and encouraged me after having issues to change to a "permanent" surgery. I just moved to TX and have made a few friends now, but I have learned over the past few months that a few of my new friends are very JUDGMENTAL and I will not tell them at all. I am a soda-aholic and I will be only telling them that I am low carbing and cut out all soda. Which will not be a lie....but OMG....I can only imagine some of the horrible things they would say behind my back. I know this sounds like I should no longer be friends with them...but I'm kind of stuck for now with them and probably forever...because one of the two lives directly next door. Our front doors are 15 ft from each other. In addition...I will not be telling my sister, mother, brother or any other relatives besides my sweet hubby who knows how being overweight has affected me my whole life. I look forward to getting to know you all. I love reading about all the progress on the boards. I've only been lurking for a day now. I watched a bunch of Dr. Alvarez's videos on Youtube and am ASTOUNDED! I can't wait to read more and see everyone's progress!!! Carmen

    Not telling family about surgery?

I am hoping to schedule my sleeve surgery mid July...already had a band surgery scheduled for Thur, July 21 and changed my mind. So, I agree with the others....it is not lying to keep this from them. This is FOR YOU and not for them!!! Good luck! Carmen
