  3. Drew, You look to cute to be a roller derby girl!
  4. Mal, What an awesome husband you have! He said the perfect thing at just the right time! Give that man some good love :biggrin1: ~ Now, I can definitely sympathize with you, I know all of us can! I would have freaked out even worse then you did. I was very put off by spending the money on myself for the band but then thought what the heck! It is only money~ and I don’t have any regrets. My health and self esteem are most important and so is yours!:hippie: Let us know if/when you reschedule. Can you do your teeth after the band or do they hurt to bad to wait? :sick Anita, Drew, and Michelle, What beautiful ladies you are! I would also be willing to meet for a glass of tea… doesn’t have to be at the meeting. We can start our own support group! I am glad I didnt race up there late, and make the drive!

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

TracyinKS, I know where Branson is although I have never been there. The ex is military and lives at Fort Leonard Wood. So my girls go there every summer to stay with him for six weeks. He takes them to Branson but i dont think he knows about the thress story go-karts. That would be a must do for them. Staying at a camp ground for a $1 what a friggin bargin! That would be fun. Kity, So sorry about your mom!
  6. Dynamo, What do you mean about the meeting? What did you guys do? Anita said she was not sure what she felt about the meeting... maybe we should all just get together ourselves for iced tea! Can you give me the details? I am sorry I dont know how to post pics on here!

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

With Mother's Day around the corner I had to post this! Ok, I know we've all seen this before well most of us anyway, but it still makes me teary everytime I read it so I thought you would enjoy it again too. Happy Mother's Day to you all! Angie This is for the mothers who have sat up all night with sick toddlers in their arms, wiping up puke laced with Oscar Mayer wieners and cherry Kool-Aid saying, "It's okay, honey. Mommy's here". Who have sat in rocking chairs for hours on end soothing crying babies who can't be comforted. This is for all the mothers who show up at work with spit-up in their hair and milk stains on their blouses and diapers in their purse. For all the mothers who run carpools and make cookies. And all the mothers who DON'T. This is for the mothers who gave birth to babies they'll never see. And the mothers who took those babies and gave them homes. This is for the mothers whose priceless art collections are hanging on their refrigerator doors. And for all the mothers who froze their buns on metal bleachers at football , hockey or soccer games instead of watching from the warmth of their cars, so that when their kids asked, "Did you see me, Mom?" they could say, "Of course, I wouldn't have missed it for the world," and mean it. This is for all the mothers who yell at their kids in the grocery store and swat them in despair when they stomp their feet and scream for ice cream before dinner. And for all the mothers who count to ten instead, but realize how child abuse happens. This is for all the mothers who sat down with their children and explained all about making babies. And for all the (grand) mothers who wanted to, but just couldn't find the words. This is for all the mothers who go hungry, so their children can eat. For all the mothers who read "Goodnight, Moon" twice a night for a year. And then read it again. "Just one more time." This is for all the mothers who taught their children to tie their shoelaces before they started school. And for all the mothers who opted for Velcro instead. This is for all the mothers who teach their sons to cook and their daughters to sink a jump shot. This is for every mother whose head turns automatically when a little voice calls "Mom?" in a crowd, even though they know their own offspring are at home -- or even away at college. This is for all the mothers who sent their kids to school with stomach aches, assuring them they'd be just FINE once they got there, only to get calls from the school nurse an hour later asking them to please pick them up. Right away. This is for mothers whose children have gone astray, who can't find the words to reach them. For all the mothers who bite their lips until they bleed when their 14 year olds dye their hair green. For all the mothers of the victims of recent school shootings, and the mothers of those who did the shooting. For the mothers of the survivors, and the mothers who sat in front of their TVs in horror, hugging their child who just came home from school, safely. This is for all the mothers who taught their children to be peaceful, and now pray they come home safely from a war. What makes a good Mother anyway? Is it patience? Compassion? Broad hips? The ability to nurse a baby, cook dinner, and sew a button on a shirt, all at the same time? Or is it in her heart? Is it the ache you feel when you watch your son or daughter disappear down the street, walking to school alone for the very first time? The jolt that takes you from sleep to dread, from bed to crib at 2 am to put your hand on the back of a sleeping baby? Or the panic, years later, that comes again at 2 am when you just want to hear their key in the door and know they are safe again in your home? Or the need to flee from wherever you are and hug your child when you hear news of a fire, a car accident, a child dying? The emotions of motherhood are universal and so our thoughts are for young mothers stumbling through diaper changes and sleep deprivation... And mature mothers learning to let go. For working mothers and stay-at-home mothers. Single mothers and married mothers. Mothers with money; mothers without. This is for you all. For all of us. Hang in there. In the end we can only do the best we can. Tell them everyday that we love them. And pray. "Home is what catches you when you fall! And we all fall."

TracyinKS, Good job on the NSV!!! Yippee. Even though I keep whining and complaining about not losing I guess I too have a NSV to share. I am wearing a pair of capris today that fit and did not fit just six weeks ago. I could not even lay on the bed and get these suckers to button! So today I am wearing them. I think they would fit a heck of a lot better -10lbs but they are on and I did not lay on the bed to button them! Have a great time on your trip, where are you going? We will be thinking of you.

Lunasa, This is so funny ---- "LOL...here's a good one. Last night we're going to bed & DH says "I think you're having an affair!" LOLOLOLOL....of course he knows I'm NOT but he has observed the new DEDICATION in my life!!! My Violet affair!! That is why I try and post at work so I dont have to hear my poor lonely DH! But I am getting behind so today I am really going to get some work done! This sounds like one of the best meals I have heard of in awhile - Fish stuffed with spinach & feta did you make it? Gosh can I have just one bite!! Good job on your weight loss! Sara Mos, Great job on the weight loss..... i am still trying but the scale is just not budging! Not sure what I can do besides throw in the trash or walk out and just hand it to the trash man so I can't dig it back out! Also that was very good how you explained the reflux disease proplem for Michelle. You sounded so technical! Go girl!

Michelle - I'm sorry to hear of your frustrations and sadness. I can completely understand how you feel. Well I know we can all understand how you feel. First, just the word "cancer" is scary.... and second your dream of a new life has been taken for at least the moment! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! When you start feeling down do what Lunusa is saying. That sounds very reassuring. Also like Terridoodle said, there is a GREAT chance for a mix-up! Several years ago after many tests I was told I may have breast cancer behind the muscle..... so the Drs took part of my breast and there was no cancer! What a blessing. So just remember how truly blessed you are with how far you have come and keep your chin up! We are routing for you. Jenn, The reason you have not found a job yet is because the perfect job for you has not come along yet! Chin up as well!
  12. Sunnysea.................... Taterbug..................... Where are you two? Heeeelllloooooo :cry :faint:
  13. Hi all! Sorry I didn't make it last night. :cry I got home later then the 5:40 I was planning for so I would not have made it until after 7:00 so I figured it was probably not a good idea to come strolling in some 40 minutes late! Dynmo- the coffee would have been great! I didnt read that until today. Yesterday after I made my post my boss came into my office and needed me to cover a meeting for someone else. Did you guys still go out afterwards? How was the support group? Was there a lot of folks there? Did you learn anything new, tips/tricks? Let me know all the details. I can't wait to see the picture!
  14. Does anyone remember what we are supposed to bring to the meeting tonight? Was it a recipe? I will also be there but late... do you know how long the meeting lasts? I dont expect to be there until about 7:00 and not sure I should make the drive if it will be over at 8:00?
  15. Dynamo -- you are such a dynamo! You go girl, with your bad self! :funnypost:

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Good luck Renee! See you on the other side!
  21. Robin, OMG! That is so encouraging about your loss! :clap2: Thanks! Are you exercising? Yippee! There is hope! :flypig:
  22. Mine is Monday the 14th and I'm not sure it can come soon enough. <--------- Anita, Your fill is before mine!! You will have to tell me all about it. I hope Dr K does not leave you waiting too long. That is the only thing that drives me crazy-- he is so dang busy. Last time at my one week post op I waited a hour and a half for my 2 minute appointment. BUT it is worth it all.
  23. Hi Anita! Good morning everyone! Another beautiful day here in Colorado! I swear it can be snowing outside but the sun will be out and we will have the bluest sky! Dr K did not tell me anything about fills, he is always so busy so he just takes care of business and goes about his way! All he has ever really told me is not to vomit... (which i did with that water incident!). His intern gave me the packet. An important thing about the bag that we forgot to mention was that it had a card in it that identifies you as a lap band patient should anything happen to you. It also has a card in that you can show restaurants’ asking that you be allowed to order off the senior or child’s menu. Once I go for my fill I will tell you all about it! Robin, I will blow the mountains a kiss for you! :kiss2: Why did you move to Oklahoma? I work at Fort Carson :usa: so I can look outside and blow the mountains a big kiss for you! Thanks everyone for the encouragement on being a slowwwww loser. I am still not giving up -- I am just hoping i will catch up to everyone with my fill. I think I am also behind because I only had a week pre-op diet... and it was just low card. I also need to throw my scale out the window. I weigh any chance I get looking for any kind of change! I am a "scale whore"! :decision:
  24. I am glad that i am not the only slow loser... but it still seems I have lost less then everyone else. =( Dynamo, I am going to make a commitment to exercise 5 days this week, I will walk on my treadmill for thirty minutes everyday! Thanks for the boost! Please keep me accountable. Then on Friday I will do the "scale check" see if it made a difference. My fill is May 18. I am counting down the days.
  25. Anita, What Dynmo said regarding the warrantee was the exact same with me, at my one week check-up got a post op bad, it had the card inside. Not sure if I will be at the meeting tomorrow! Depends on our crazy weather here. Lapdancer, I wish i was losing like you! I have not lost a pound since week 1. I am not eating much so I figure my body is adjusting. Let's hope!
