This particular thread is a blessing! You see, I was sleeved on December 6th and haven't lost a single pound w/in the last 1 1/2 weeks. I thought that I was doing something wrong. I find it SO unusual that I can eat so little (comparable to my "pre-sleeved" self) yet not loose a single pound. I have not measured myself- I've only used the bathroom scale as my guideline.
It's honestly nice to know that I'm not alone.

I COMPLETELY understand!! I was sleeved on Tuesday and I continue to experience hunger as if nothing was done to my stomach. To make matters worse, the smells/thoughts of Protein poweder, Jello, & broth make my stomach want to flip Only a few more days......I've never been SO excited to have cream Soups and yogurt before (LOL).

I was also sleeved on Tuesday, December 6th. My taste has SO changed ~ just the thought of broth, Jello, muscle milk, chewable vitamins, AND powdered Protein makes me sick I can begin to incorporate cream Soups after being home from hospital 3-7 days (I'm going to try on Sunday). Congrats on your sleeve!! I can't wait to step out this summer with a new body

Prayers for you !!

I appreciate this thread being started as I also had questions related to the VSG and hair loss (on chemically relaxed hair). I also wondered about scarring since most of us that have a darker complexions tend to have darker scars (my poor belly is going to look like a battle ground)
Thank you, everyone, for sharing!

Hi Susan!! Very heartfelt post AND your story is much of what everyone else here has felt OR is still feeling. I'm to be sleeved in mid-November and the fear of doing the right thing (i.e~ surgery) continues to worry me. Several times a week I peek into the photo gallery and think of my pics which will soon post. This is going to be a tough journey for us but, we CAN do it!

Heyyyyyyy!!! Check'n in from Michigan - "downriver" to be exact!
I'm not yet sleeved. My big day will come in mid-November and surgery is planned for Henry Ford Hospital-Detroit. I'm excited AND scared about my decision to be sleeved but, I can't wait to start my life over again.....healthier and happier!!

I've already chickend out once and I am now undergoing the pre-op 6 month wait - I should be sleeved in mid-November. I'm currently gung-ho but, I do have worries that I'll back out of surgery again. This time around, I've tried to only disclose my upcoming surgery to supportive people. I surprisingly have still heard a couple negative comments but, I'm still plugg'n along! At 243 lbs, I KNOW that the VSG is what's best for me!! Thanks for the uplifting words!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! A bathing suit....brave girl AND great way to document the progress!!! AMAZING job!! You look great!

Wow!! Your story mimics my own in that I WAS to be sleeved last December and I also changed my mind. I just turned 40 in April and because of health concerns AND wanting to see my beautiful girls grow up, I again decided on the sleeve. This website and it's members are such an encouragement. I visit at least twice a day - sometimes just to look at other's before and after pics. I hope to be sleeved in mid-November - this site is a wonderful resource!!!
