  1. OK, so before i was banded i heard all kinds of stories on how wonderful the band is and it helps so much and if you over eat you will definately know it cause you will be puking. Well, I was banded May 17th and just had my first fill last Thursday. I have lost 4 pounds since surgery and walk walk walk all the time. I have NEVER felt painfully full and never puked!!! I had 5cc in my band from surgery and they put 2 more in so i now have 7cc in my 14cc band!!!! Sad thing is, i dont feel any different!!! I didnt think i would have to work so hard to restrict myself. Yes I undertand i still have to work hard at it but i feel like i am doing it all on my own. People tell me oh just wait til you eat this or eat that, it will come up. WELL, I HAVE YET TO HAVE THAT HAPPEN!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

  2. Ok, so I had surgery a little over 4 months ago and am doing really well, I've lost almost 65 pounds and am about 25 pounds away from my initial goal, but lately I have noticed myself slipping up quite a bit. I was being extremely strict about portions, counting calories, etc. and now (for about the last 5 days) I am finding myself having trouble with nighttime picking. This was always a huge problem for me --- do great during the day and go nuts at night.

I ate m&m's, 2 Cookies, some potato chips, etc. The sad part is a couple of months ago, this would have been a normal day, and now, even though these "cheats" happened on different days, I feel like I am pigging out. Funny how your outlook on things can change in the matter of a few months. I don't know whether I am being too hard on myself and whether I have to realize that its normal to give in to indulgences at times, but I guess I am just nervous because giving into indulgences is what landed me into getting WLS.

I know what I need to do, but I guess I just need some motivation. I am so scared I may gain this weight back that I worked very hard to take off. Has anyone experienced this and does anyone have any advice on how they got back on track?

    THANKS!!!

WOW!! You have done really well!! Congratulations!!! I feel the same way!! I was banded on May 17 and just had my first fill last Thursday. I was told i have the large band that holds 14cc and i had 5 cc in it from surgery!! They add 2 cc so now I have 7. Strange thing is.... I dont feel like i am being restricted of anything. I feel just like i did before being banded. I know a lot of ppl that have had this done and they say that when they have fills or eat certain things that they vomit and feel really full. Well, I haven't thrown up or anything. LOL, I wondering if they really banded me or not!!!

So, how have you done so well? I lost 18 pounds during my two week pre-op diet and only 4 from surgery!!!! I walk alot too!!! I do need to work on restricting myself from eating more than i should, I just thought the band would help with that.

  3. I am right there with you!! i was banded 3 weeks ago and cant seem to find my self discipline!!!! I lost 18 pounds on the 2 week pre op diet and only two since surgery and then the other day I was up 2. Its very frustrating!!! I am just hoping that when i get my first fill next week it will help.

Self-Sabotage, I'm the queen :( so with that being said.....how did you find and stick to new coping skills that didn't involve food? I've been an addict so long....How have you been successful long term w/ the band..I'm almost 3 months out...I know I'm not doing my best.

Anyone else in the sabotage boat?

  4. HELP PLEASE!!!!! I was banded a little over 3 weeks ago and have a big appetite!!! I read about all of these people that dont want food and feel full all the time, WELL I am the opposite!! It is very discouraging because I fear that I am going to stretch the new pouch :-((((( I get my first fill next Thursday and I am hoping it helps. I just wonder how I would know if i have already caused damage to the pouch or not.
