  1. Alright - I am so excited to be part of this!!! Day 8 post op for me so I hope I am not making this goal too far of a stretch but I know most weight comes off in the beginning.

    SN.....................starting wt...............current............goal..............lbs to goal

    Shordee0751.......258.5......................238.5.............198.5..............40 lbs!!!!

  2. I am so sorry - I had surgery on Monday, the 27th so the day before you and I understand what you mean when you say you had no idea!

I too was vomiting everything and it was not only discouraging but really painful. I was in the hospital 3 days and was still sick after leaving. I finally started keeping food down after doing 3 things - switching back to clear liquids (just broth, Protein Shakes, and popsicles) taking an anti nausea pill daily, and taking Zantac daily.

I really hope things start looking up for you and if your doctor's office is anything like mine, call them. They are there to help.

  3. Had surgery same day as you. I had a few additional complications so I am actually back on Clear liquids after a bad experience with yogurt. Anyway, today is the weakest day by far- hoping to get in a lot of Water as I am sure it will help. I can only hope everyday gets a little easier...are you in a lot of pain? I am ok as long as I am lying down but getting up is torture so walking is not high on my list.

Good luck to you and I hope we can compare as time goes on!

  4. My approval with cigna took about 1 1/2 weeks. My PCP included my 6 month diet and a letter of recommendation. Also had a few other dr reports... Nothing required. My approval was denied but it was because my referral letter and nutritional plan from my PCP wasn't there. Once that was sent in, it was quickly approved. Let me know if you have any questions... Good luck!!!

  5. I did HCG last summer - I did 2 separate rounds of 28 days (3 weeks apart) and lost a total of 35 lbs. First round was ok, it was really hard to eat the required food I needed even tho it was 500 calories. Followed exactly what I was supposed to in between the 2 rounds and keep weight off but as I ended 2nd round, I got so sick. I had to eat more. As of now gained that 35 lbs back plus an additional 15 and am scheduled for surgery on Monday.

  6. I can't believe my surgery date is less than a week away - June 27th, here I come!

I haven't posted much but I have read a ton and learned even more...this is been a huge help in my journey.

I have been on my diet for a few days and I noticed that crystal light has caffiene in it, is it okay to drink? My pre op diet states no caffiene or carbonation.

I can not wait to be on the losing bench and I am already looking at the 2 lbs I have lost as 2 lbs I will never see again. I can't wait to get to know more of you better as I am not feeling a ton of support from my family and friends and know this is a community that will do that.

    Thanks!

  7. It is possible. I started my 6 month dr appt the end of October and am having surgery on the 27th of this month. I had my final 6th appt the end of April and wish I would have started all my surgery pre op stuff before that final appt so it would have taken less time. I did have my appt's with my primary care doctor so that might make a difference too. Are you going to do it through your regular doc or the surgeon's office??

I had my initial appt with surgeon the beginning of May and just got my approval 2 days ago.

I hope this helps - let me know if you have any questions!

  8. Hi - new girl here.

I am so excited to start this new road - I have had my initial consult (which included labs, psych eval, dietician and trainer meeting) and am now just waiting for everything to get to my insurance for approval. This has been a longer road then expected as I have already had to complete a 6 month diet program with my doctor before I could even start the process with my surgeon. I guess in a way this was a good thing. I have had time to research and be sure this is what I want.

I haven't always been a big girl. I was never a skinny minnie but never overweight, or obese. I have been married for 7 1/2 years and in that time, I have gained over 80 lbs. My hubby and I LOVE to eat and LOVE to cook.... it has been the common ground for us. I am scared that with surgery, we will lose a connection. Has anyone else worried about something like this??

Thanks so much and I am so glad I found this place!
