    Some people...

I just ignore people. I get little comments here and there. I think it's because they're jealous. You keep up the good work and keep moving!! That's what I do

Broke My Heart, but had to do it!

Good for you!! It's hard giving up those expensive items. I'm sure you worked hard to get those. But you worked hard to lose those pounds too right??!! Good luck on your journey. You're almost there it looks like.

    Caffine

I try to limit coffee to Fridays only. But I think you are supposed to limit your caffeine intake. Just drink Decaf, it's not so bad
  4. I agree with Chubby. My Dr's scale is always 3 lbs more than the scale I lose at work. So I use the scale at work and I always use that one because it's more convenient. But really it doesn't matter, it all turns out to be the same as long as I use the same scale I started with. good Luck!

    Water

I am the same way with water. But if you force yourself to drink it for about a week, you will be used to it, trust me. Just sip every 2-3 minutes. I love my water with lots of ice too. As long as you drink it I don't think it really matters really. Good Luck

    protein help

I love Gold Standard in the double chocolate (the vitamin shoppe). It gives 24g of protein per scoop and it takes really good. Like a milkshake. It's about $23 for a big container that should last almost 2 weeks. Good luck.

    Carbonated Drinks

I was so addicting to coke before I had the surgery. So I quit 2 weeks before surgery to prepare myself. I got my band in June 2011 and have had about 3-4 small sips since then. I just need to taste. Then after I get it I'm fine. I could never drink a whole soda to begin with, like ever. You get used to not having it I guess

    Is it possible???

I made the same mistake of not measuring before I had the procedure, so I know how you feel. I am in the same boat. I had stalled on my weight for about 2 weeks and still felt like I lost inches. Now the weight is s-l-o-w-l-y coming back off again.

    Lap Band Friendly Restaurants/Meals

Seafood is an excellent choice. Just make sure it's grilled or baked. I had sushi over the weekend. It was amazing! I thought for sure I had gained weight, even though I only had 4 rolls but actually lost 3 lbs! You have to eat to lose right? Happy birthday!!

    Hospital stay vs outpatient

I had my surgery in an outpatient facility. I work there so I knew all the nurses and drs. It was great in at 7a and out at 2p! I probably would have enjoyed staying an a hospital overnight though.

    "The easy way out"

Amazing!!!!! It's funny because someone at work told me lat week that "you have to work to hard with the Lap Band, I thought it was gonna be easier". Not a clue!!!!!

Sorry for your loss. But you have done an AMAZING job! Way to go. Keep it up.

I did it. I did it! I am officially a bandster!!

Congratulations! Welcome! Just a little advice, be careful with the liquid percocet! I felt the same way. But I suffered a few days later with major constipation! With the anesthesia and percocet it all builds up. Good luck on your journey!

    2 week plateau

So okay, I tried to be patient about this but....I can't take it anymore, I have to talk about it. I was banded on 6/17/11 and have lost a good amount of weight. I'm happy about that but I have been on the plateau for like 2 weeks. I have actually gained 2 lbs. Well actually, I was sick about a week and a half ago and lost 8 lbs in 2 days because I had a really bad stomach virus and just had really bad diarrhea, so basically (I pooped out 8 lbs) sorry TMI! Which means really that was water weight, but now I can't seem to get going again. My diet hasn't changed, I still eat and do the same things I did before I got sick. Probably more exercising so I don't get it. I have had 3 fills and not at 5.8cc in a 10cc band. How long will it take for my weight loss to start again? I need help!!!

    2 week plateau

Thanks so much Steeler. I think that is my problem. I eat only 800 a day. I know now that is not enough. My doctor's office told me that I should be around 1000-1100 cal a day! To me that's crazy because I can't eat that much at one sitting. I get full so quick. (that's the point right??). So I know that I really need to upping my calories and hopefully that will do the trick! Thanks again.

Thanks for responding, maybe I will do that. It makes sense!

    Good for you girl!

    Your special 'cheat' day

I agree, this is not a diet so there is no cheating. This is for life, so I allow myself somethings that I shouldn't have every now and then. It works!
  22. I too had a hiatal hernia repair with my band surgery and I think that the pain you are feeling is from the hernia repair, not the band. My surgeon said that really you should not feel the band. My pain was definitely from the repair. It was intense at times. Glad that's over! Good luck with your journey.
  23. Wow! I can't wait to be able to say that I have lost 80lbs or 100lbs. Im sure I will feel the same when I make it there. I have lost 40lbs and people say that I look great, but really I don't see a big difference. Probably because I have so far to go! That part is frustrating! Good job NY!

How long did it take you?

I have had 3 fills and now at 5.8cc in my 10cc band. I think before my last fill I was just about in the green and she put 1cc in, so now I think I am good. At times I think I may be a little tight. But I'm comfortable where I am now. Good Luck!
