  1. Hello,

I also have Unitedhealth care they where great...If you call your 1877# on the back of your card ask if you are covered and ask to speak to your Bariatric Resource Center, my plan put me in touch with a Bariatric Resource Nurse the first time I called....Good Luck and feel free to ask any thing you may need to know...PS I also had to do a 6 Month Nutrition Plan

  2. Hi,

I was really sore for a week or so...My body started to make noises that seemed unnatural and really loud, my port site was sore as hell for about two weeks (I am a side sleeper) but, the good news is just keep moving and all the gas will work its way out and you will feel better ever passing day.....PS Hang in there it is totally worth it, trust me!!!! :)

    Warmest Regards,

    Lisa

  3. The Best Lapband Surgeon in Georgia!!!!

I have Dr. Robert Richard, he is a great surgeon...he even gave me a big stuffed brown bear that was waiting for me when I came out of surgery (I cuddled that thing for days) I do not know your Dr but, if you have any questions, feel free to ask!!!!! I had my surgery on Nov 22nd 2011 and I am feeling pretty great, lots of energy, about 32 pounds gone and I am starting to see my neck again!!! Ha Ha I get my first fill this Friday...................
I hope you have a quick and easy recovery!!!!

  4. Be kind to yourself!! Try taking a bubble bath and relax, sometimes we can find motivation once we quit our minds and put everything else aside...No payments, whats on tv, why we have not done this or that, just be at a state of total relaxation and then I am sure you will find your center!!! Good Luck and Relax!!!bathbaby.gif

  5. OK my surgery was on the 22nd and it went ok. I did have nausea which I hate and my surgeon fixed a hiatal hernia which I did not know I had. I think that is why the pain is a little more than I expected..The gas was pain was ok, I used tons of Gas x strips peppermint (helped with nausea) and a moist heat, heating pad!!!! My surgeon is Dr Robert Richard and he has to be the best surgeon around, he even brought me a big stuffed brown bear after the surgery was over...All in all it was a really good experience!! Now on to my journey!!!!! thumbs_up.gif

  6. Thank you so much!!!

Good Luck to all those who will be banded this week. Hang in - think positive - listen to your Doctors - and go for it with gusto!

Mine will be on one week tomorrow and already it seems soo much longer. After a couple of days of rough Patches - I turned a corner and feel fabulous. Yea!

Positive vibes heading out to all who recently banded and about to be banded (oh and of course everyone else too!) rolleyes.gif

  7. I believe every surgeon is different in regards to their required pre op however, I have to say the first two days where hell but after that your system gets use to the small amount and I think that is one of the things they are shooting for. I can not imagine what it would be like to go from food and regular quantities to lapband amounts after surgery..I guess it helps with the smaller food amount and realizing what you will be consuming...I am in day 10 of my pre op liquid diet and to tell the truth it is really not that bad. I can have the following things in about 1/2 cup portions: Sugar Free(S/F) Fat Free (F/F) Yogurt, S/F Fudge Pops, S/F Pops, Broths and broth based Soups strained, Cyrstal Light, Lt juices, Def coffee, L/F Cottege cheese, S/F Jello, S/F pudding, Unsweetened Applesauce, (Only one of the following per day) Grits, oatmeal, Farina, Cream of Wheat. My surgeon also requires that I exercise at least three times a week for 30 minutes..Yesterday was my pre op and I have lost 9 pounds so far and I am totally excited.....

  8. I have not had my surgery yet, but I really believe that when you are so physical while you where training your metabolism gets really cranked up so when you had your second surgery and you physical workouts have shrunk down so far your body is not burning as much, ie. weight gain or no weight loss...My husband is a runner and did the Marine Corps Marathon if he does not train for awhile he gains...How about walking some more and add hand weights to your routine? I live in GA, too and know you can find some really great parks with killer hills!!! You can do it just take a breath and move, move, move.....;))))B) Stay Cool
