    Reflecting

This was the favorite part of your post because you are exactly on point. Its not JUST about the scale going down its about reclaiming our lives and doing things we couldn't or wouldn't do before. Congratulations!!!! While I know this doesn't help with my weight loss (and yes the scale slowed during this time) I had a lot of fun with my friends, which has been a long time since I let that happen due to not wanting to be around many people when my weight was higher.

16 weeks and in a bad stall

I had a good discussion with my doctor about this last week. He said to remember that your body is losing even if the scale doesn't move. He said there are a lot of contributing factors that make up the scale "number" and not to worry if it doesn't go down. Especially if you are exercising and gaining muscle. To prove you are still losing take your measurements and compare them to previous weeks/months. But on a personal note I know how frustrating it can be. Been there done that! lol Good luck and congratulations on your success this far!

    Before/After

Such a huge difference!!! You are doing awesome even if you have weak moments. You are human and just because you had VSG surgery doesn't make you super human! We all want to be "normal" again we just have to choose when to splurge and when not to. I agree with MeMeMeee save it for special occasions! Good luck and congrats on your progress this far!

    hamburger??

Beef is the easiest for me to digest. I'm at 6 weeks out. Chicken is still a no go, but beef is great! So don't be afraid to try it!
  17. That is a great post! Great job!
  18. I totally get where you are coming from. I am prepared to stop where my body feels the BEST. Not where the chart says I should be. That is the whole goal of this surgery is to have a great quality of life. Awesome job on your weight loss by the way. All of you!

Slow weight loss is getting me down

Have you taken measurements? I know in the past if I've been at a stand still I will take my measurements and then I realize that although the scale isn't moving as fast as I would like then I could still "see" my progress. Even last week at one of my follow up appointments my surgeon suggested this. Good luck!
  20. Well my surgeon won't allow me to take aspirin either with the VSG. Don't listen to everything you hear...lol
  21. I had my surgery with Dr. Barker on June 13th. I don't have any complaints about my surgery and recovery at all. The only thing is that I felt like since he has SO MANY patients I get kind of a rushed feeling. But saying that, it also made me feel good to know that he has done SO MANY surgeries and has many years of experience. Good luck!!!
  22. I am two weeks post op and am trying to figure out the same thing! Its a totally different feeling for me too and I never had a band. I'm not trying to go to the point of "hurt" but I would like to know what sensation I'm looking for!
