  1. My train leaves at 9:45 am, I'll arrive in Providence about 10:40 or so. Then I'm driving back to State College, PA for another stay at the Hampton Inn there before driving the rest of the way back to Cinci on Monday. Tuesday is my appointment with the shrink about my surgery on July 12. Busy couple of days ahead...

  2. Next week, I will start working out at Mercy Healthplex Fairfield. I toured the facility today and it's a nice one. Looking forward to this.

  3. Ok, where the heck did the weekend go? It's back to Cinci for me tomorrow already. Doesn't seem like I had 3 days home....

  4. On September 31st, 2011 Facebook will start charging you for your account. To avoid this, you MUST get NAKED, use a PERMANENT marker pen and write on your forehead the word S-U-C-K-E-R, and then stand on your dining room table and do the Macarena, all the while singing ”I Will Survive”. After filming and posting it to your Facebook wall and YouTube, then, and only then, will Mark Zuckerberg come down your chimney to tell you that your account will stay free

  5. Out of hospital now. I had very little pain and no nausea (probably due to the meds I was given). I am tired though - so will be taking nap soon.

  6. Quack, Quack, Quack... the only animal that likes this weather......

  7. Rivers DNA results are in. Unfortunately, we don't match any one else who has tested with Family Tree DNA. There was one match at the 12 marker level - but that isn't a very good indicator. I was hoping it would answer some questions, but it hasn't. I hope that it will eventually lead to answers as MORE PEOPLE test with FTDNA. Thank you Robert Rivers for doing the test!

  8. Saturday my furniture arrives at my apartment, so of course they are calling for rain on Saturday. :(

  9. Smallville finale was super! But why did they wait another 7 years to get married?

  10. So I have a 15 hour drive coming up this next weekend from Cinci to Seekonk, MA. I need to be in MA on Saturday night. I'm thinking about leaving on Friday afternoon and driving at least part of the distance Friday night. Anyone know of a good place to stay between Cinci and MA (probably near the OH/PA border or in PA)

  11. So I tell my mom that I'm moving and of course she doesn't think that's the right thing for me. Never mind the fact that I am almost NEVER in Michigan anymore because of work - almost always in Cincinnati. But yet, according to her, I should not move to Cincinnati and is giving me grief over it. Why do I even bother?

  12. So I was in the surgical waiting room at Mercy Fairfield waiting to be taken back for my EGD, when 2 very obese people come out from the "prep & recover area" with 2 large McD's bags & drinks and proceed to sit in the waiting area and eat. All the while, I had not eaten since 5pm yesterday because of the EGD before my weight loss surgery July 12. Irony...

  13. So on my drive today, I got thinking about how much more research I want to do and in the different places I need to do it in. Then I thought about how much I will enjoy it. Then I realized that I will end up enjoying it even more because I will no longer be this heavy when I do the research next year!

  14. Spent the afternoon transcribing death records of New Hampshire for Stiles. I really hope there are not that many more as I already have about 3 pages worth.

  15. Standard def on a high def TV really stinks. I wish the CW Cincinnati would go high def.

  16. Started the withdrawal process for Western Governors. The term passed by and I couldn't get things done for the 2nd time - so that's a sign that I need to withdraw and try again in the future when I can get time.

  17. Still at NEHGS one hour after closing (extended hours were supposed to end at 9pm) and getting extra one-on-one time with a professional genealogist! Woo Hoo!!!

  18. Support group was great tonight. I met someone who I originally met on verticalsleevetalk.com - Jennifer. It was nice to put a face with the online friend. :)

  19. Thanks to WikiTree, I have found yet another long lost cousin from the Hickmott side. I'm hoping she will be willing to share information.

  20. The "Getting Started with Mac" class tonight was rather interesting. I learned many things. :) Still have a LOT to learn though.

  21. The end of another busy day. Just finished fixing lamb chops and meatloaf for my meals this week. Did some cleaning & laundry. Limping around since my calves are still tight, but I've been stretching them occasionally this afternoon and I think it's helping. I look like I'm trying to push the wall down when I do the stretching, but it's helping.

  22. There is always death and taxes; however, death doesn't get worse every year. ~Author Unknown

  23. Tomorrow at 9:15 I will be having my surgery.

  24. Tomorrow will be a long day for me. I will start teaching at 7 am and won't be done with work until after 5 pm. Then I get to drive home to Michigan ( 5.5 hour drive). No wonder I slept in this morning! But it will be worth it. Friday I have some of my pre-op blood testing done with my primary doc.
