  1. Ok, going to deal with new car sh*t again today.... I'd rather have my hair set on fire than deal with car salesmen. They all think I'm an idiot because I'm a woman. Little do they know that I'm a SHARK, but they eventually figure it out.
  2. I use Origins makeup...both foundation and powder, and the powder is a heavier, 'double-duty' powder. And yes, my bruises were almost black as well. Oh, and I used my concealer over the bruises as well...layered like this: makeup powder concealer powder
  3. If you're still taking pain meds, that could be what's causing your nausea. What stage of your diet are you in? If you're on creamy Soups make sure you take your meds with your meals. Absolutely take Gas-X 4x a day (or whatever the max is) and walk, walk, walk. The gas will make you nauseous and feeling yucky, too. By day 5 you should be feeling much, much better. What you are going thru us what we ALL went thru. I promise you'll get past it and you'll come to love your band just like the rest of us veterans!! Just look FORWARD to all the positive changes you have in store!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE shopping in the regular size womens clothing now. That's my favorite thing!!
  4. OK, I'll just talk to myself here. You've all abandoned me. Now that you've met me, you have decided you hate me and have secretly moved to another message board. Hmmm? I'll hunt you down!! I just want to say that I cannot wait for my unfill tomorrow. I am PBing like Pamela these days .... In one of those PB loops that you can't get out of, y'know? I'm tempted to have them remove 0.3cc. Whatever level I was at in Jan., that's where I wanna go back to. Just venting here while I am STUCK on oatmeal.........
  5. Cristi -- I hear your frustration! I had enchiladas Friday night and Fetucinni Alfredo Saturday night!! (PB'd both of them, but that's another story.) And yes, I eat them in ridiculously small portions, so mentally I am OK with that. However, I ALSO know that I'm not getting proper nutrition to fuel my body and I'm not going to lose weight that way. I'm down to 180 and even in "moderation" those types of meals will not allow me to lose weight. You can be sick of these comments or not, it won't change the fact that you have to make healthy choices to lose weight. Sorry, but that's the deal. My doctor did not suggest a particular eating plan. He didn't even put me on a pre-op diet! He said, "Enjoy the foods you've always enjoyed but in smaller portions." Well, the 1st 6 months I was a very good little bandster and ate fish, veggies, eggs, cottage cheese, etc. I also worked my butt off at the gym 4x a week. I lost weight. 6 months later I hit a plateau, quit the gym, relaxed my eating rules, and haven't lost anything significant since November. Hello? What's the lesson here?? Do what you like. Eat how you like. But you will have a much more difficult time getting the weight off....especially after 6 months and your body has made it's adjustments. It's up to you!
  6. Yes I most certainly DID get my coconut rum!! Had a cheater pina colada yesterday and one today! What was Macy's favorite animal at the zoo? I love the giraffes
  7. I think the Botox would give you the 'frozen face look' if you had it done in the wrong place (like around your mouth) or too many places around your eyes. But between the brows like I had done is fine for me! Hollow, deep set eyes? I'm thinking loads of concealer! LOL Besides, you're young yet, Jacqui! Karey - I got a little bruising in the nasolabial folds...about 1/8" x 3/4" on each side...but they lasted only a week and it was easily covered with makeup. Considering the sheer number of injections I had (probably 20), I thought that was pretty good. I was most impressed with the results on what they call the marionette lines (?) or the frown lines on the ends of your mouth. Dr. said that actually takes very little serum to achieve.
  8. I feel ya, sister! I went out yesterday car shopping for/with my son from 11-4. It was so freakin' hot and muggy I thought I'd lose my mind. The good news is that we found "the" car and I don't have to go out in it again!!! It's gonna be a LONG summer! ugh. TracyK -- OMG, Macy is so dang CUTE!!! I love the 1st and 2nd pics although they are ALL wonderful! How to choose?! Gawd, if you think Sears is a ripoff, just wait til you get to the graduation pics delimma!! OMG, talk about expensive!!! Like $300 for the medium package that i'd like!? Still can't seem to make myself fork over the dough.
  9. I still am unclear or undecided that I am an emotional eater. Is there a checklist of "symptoms" or behaviors that can help me identify if this is an issue for me?
  10. Just wondering if a thread to discuss only facial procedures might be helpful.... I had Restylane and Radiesse dermal filler treatments 10 days ago around my mouth and nasolabial folds. The results are just so awesome and I'm very pleased! I had Botox injections on the frown lines between my brows 4 days ago and those results are also very impressive!! I am so glad I had it done and I'm hooked! I have a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) scheduled for July 3rd and now am more anxious than ever to get that done! At first I considered much more extensive procedures like a brow lift, liposuction in the jowel and chin area, laser resurfacing, etc. But now I'm soooo glad I opted for these less invasive ones because I am thrilled with the results!
  11. How are you feeling today??? Please let us know!
  12. Kat, these are the NSV's I've been waiting to hear you post! Just think...every day it will get better and better. I am VERY sorry to hear that today was not a good one, but considering all the major work that was done, the fact that you're even posting is amazing! What do the other PS 'veterans' say about what to expect with the pain? 2-3 weeks?? Denise - You must be in heaven!!!!! He is just precious!!!
  13. In that picture where we're laughing...I love the way Jenn has her head back and the sky is reflecting off her glasses! I don't know why...I just like it. GREAT pic and sums up the weekend nicely!
  14. It sounds to me like it's a swelling+chewing issue. You could try going on mushies and Soups for a day or two then go back to solids but start paying very close attention to your bites, chewing and time between bites! Sounds like you've irritated your stoma. If it persists even after the fluids and mushies, call your doctor Tuesday. If the fluids and mushies are not helping, by all means call your doctor! Try Gas-x for the bloating and see if that helps.
  15. Thank you for confirming for me that I am doing the right thing by getting an unfill on Tuesday! I, too, have been living on cheese, milkshakes, crackers ....and oatmeal! I am so tired of fighting my band at every meal...and ready to eat healthy foods once again! I plan to start by celebrating with some pan grilled tilapia and steamed asparagus! Cheers and best of luck to you!! PS - I havent lost in 6 months or so!!
  16. Good guess!! But no...... COCONUT RUM and pineapple juice! Yummmmmm. Thanks to TracyinKS I have a new favorite summertime drink! I just won't think about the carbs...
  17. Well, yeah... that doesn't surprise me. It's probably just the swelling. It will get better in a couple of days. I distinctly remember on Day 6 waking up thinking, "WOW! I feel soooo much better today!"....almost back to normal. Just hang in there for a little while longer!
  18. I was making my grocery list this morning....and can you guess what is at the very top of the list??? Anyone???
  19. I can take teeny tiny bites of watermelon and am OK with it. I can't have a SLAB of it like I used to though!!! LOL Maybe I'll just have to substitute with Pina Coladas instead. tee hee...
  20. Yes, absolutely this is the time to train yourself to make healthy choices whenever possible!! Back away from the enchiladas!!!
  21. Oh, also...the pain when you take deep breaths...means you need to do some breathing exercises. Your doctor should have told you to do these! Breathe in and out very, very deeply and slowly for about 10 minutes every 2 hours. You'll find this helps immensely!!
  22. This is exactly what is happening with me, too, Blue! I'm too tight to enjoy healthy foods and have been subsisting on all forms of cheese, tortilla chips and ice cream!! It's an insidious thing, too.... I mean you wake up one day and get real about what you've been eating and think, "How did I get here?" I've got a strong nutrition background and know for a fact that I cannot be healthy on this junk I've been eating!! I'm going for a slight unfill on Tuesday to help me get back on track. I want to be able to enjoy my favorite summer fruits of canteloupe and watermelon! I miss salads and chicken!! PS - As far as the 'daily treat' thing....those 100 calorie packs are GREAT because they give you a stopping point to pause and decide if you really want more. The answer is almost always no! I recommend them!
  23. I'm sure you've heard it before (I hope!) but take Gas-x as much as the label will allow....what is it, like 4x a day? Take it regularly! And walk, walk, walk several times a day! The two points of pain that lingered the longest for me were definitely the shoulder/gas pain (about 4-5 days) and port pain (4 weeks). So this is to be expected. Remember - don't lift anything heavier than 10# for 4-6 weeks! (or whatever your doctor ordered) That will cause your port to start hurting all over again!
  24. Oh, good suggestion, Kelly! I forgot about the breathing exercises! I found those to be VERY important and something you don't hear people talking about a whole lot here. If your doctor didn't give you instructions and a spirometer to use, then what you need to do is breathe in and out as deeply as you can, for about 10 minutes, every two hours. You will find it helps SO much.
  25. Who's making your crazy? Rick?? LOL What, trying to get you to rest and take it easy? I'm sure that's no easy task!!! I'm glad to hear your report from the doctor that everything is going as expected. Where can I get one of those pain bolus thingies??? :rolleyes2:
