Oh, that's a great idea!! Isn't it nummiful?? Laura - Why is everyone being mean to YOU? 'Cause you are asking for payment? Re: artichokes... I don't care for the canned ones either, that's why in this recipe I use the marinated ones in a jar. Yes, they are much, much better! Try it -- between you and Russ one of you will devour it. Oil's up $3 today. Dollar's down. Hold on to your britches!

Suzie if the pill has an enteric coating you shouldn't break them in half.

Where in the world is she, Tracy???

<Rant On> Suzie - Sorry, but this worries me...and I'll tell you why. First of all, bandsters aren't supposed to take anti-inflammatories (like Advil and Aleve) at all because they are so hard on stomach tissue. But let me tell you a story, too. Before banding I was an Advil freak. I took it all the time for anything and everything that ever pained me. I always called it a miracle drug (still do!). After I got banded I would dissolve my anti-depressant meds in a bit of water before slugging it down...it dissolved in an instant. One day I needed some Advil bad...I think I had hurt my back or something...and I decided to try to dissolve some Advil in water then slug it down. This was no easy feat because of the enteric coating that the pills have. But nonetheless I worked at it and worked at it and finally got it to dissolve. Then I slugged it down.:eek::cool2: OMG It felt like BATTERY ACID going all the way down!!! I was in a sheer panic!! I'm telling you, it was BAD. The minute it hit my stomach, I started wretching horribly. I was scared! I drank about a gallon of water trying to flush my system of that stuff and I guess I did ok and there were no serious residual effects. THE LESSON HERE IS, uh yeah!!...if you take Advil or Aleve it WILL sit on your band because it's too big to go thru and YEAH, you better believe you will get some heartburn if not much worse! If you absolutely have to take an anti-inflammatory take liquid Motrin (made for children) and flush it down with LOTS and LOTS of water. OK?????? <Rant Off> I'm SO glad to hear that your nephew checked himself in!! If he's strong enough to do that, he has a very good chance of success. I'll pray for him! It's a tough road, like you said. Ain't it the truth? 2 things on my list today: clean my closet!!:tt2: and do some silverwork! Day isn't much good for anything else! DH is golfing in this crud!! Wonder what Haydee is doing right now? Bitch! Ok, gonna get off my butt now. Really. Love you all! XOXO

You look great, Laura! I was twice that size at 34 weeks! People kept asking me if I was having twins! Seriously! I was in tears quite a bit as you can imagine. Kat - I think that is a record post for you....shortest ever! What's up??? Judy - Banana Cream Pie is my favorite, favorite kind of pie! You did good to keep it at 1/2 piece! Hey, did you make the parmesan/artichoke chicken yet? We made it again tonight! 2x in one week! I haven't really done much of anything today. Went to the hardware store and grocery store...yipee! Oh, and I took a nice long nap. The weather is perfect for it...cold and rainy. Keep thinking about Haydee getting on a plane for Mexico! Lucky girl. Everyone sleep tight and I'll see ya tomorrow!

Oh, I made this last night and it was FABULOUS!!! LOW CARB, TOO! I posted it in the recipe thread. Artichoke & Parmesan Chicken 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 3/4 C. mayonnaise 3/4 C. grated parmesan cheese 1 large jar (15oz or so) marinated artichoke hearts, drained & chopped (I also added a couple spoonfuls of capers) salt pepper garlic powder Preheat oven to 375. Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish which has been greased or sprayed with Pam. Sprinkle the chicken with salt, papper and a little bit of garlic powder. Mix together the chopped artichoke hearts, parmesan and mayonnaise, then spread evenly on top of the chicken breasts. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink and juices run clear. Topping should be golden brown.

Hi Ya'll. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNIFER!! I LOVE YOU!! XOXOX Pamela - I just checked airfares again today. I keep WAITING for them to go down but they really haven't moved a bit in all the time I've been checking...odd, huh? I just had to pay $600 to get my car out of the shop so I'll have to wait 'til next month probably. I just wish they'd drop about $75 or so...that'd be nice. I went to the doctor last Friday for my annual check-up and came back with a perfectly clean bill of health. Squeaked by another year...whew! Gotta go for a sleep study though, I think I have apnea. And have to go for a baseline colonoscopy. UGH!! Oh yeah, and a mammogram and some kind of carotid artery scan. So I guess I'm not out of the woods yet, but I was sweatin' that cholesterol screen. My BP is awesome as usual...110/70. Haydee - sorry the weather is so crappy :w00t: I hope your brides get lucky! I was checking Accuweather forecast. I just checked WeatherUnderground and it says tomorrow is a 90% chance of rain with a high of 49! YUCK! The ground is sure gonna be spongy after raining all day today, too. That sucks! We haven't had any decent rain for months and now it has to rain all weekend  You are gonna have some cranky brides! Kat - if the service companies would come down off their $100/bbl price structure it sure would help matters! They're living in the land of denial! Can't make the holes economically feasible so we gotta lay the rigs down. I guess they'll figure it out when they have some huge losses in the next couple of quarters. Yep, things are cooling off in the oil patch...big time. Layoffs are coming in our company with a couple of months, I'm sure. Maybe we'll go stand in line at the bailout window at the White House. BTW, they're doing lots of frac'ing in the NE... horizontal wells in Pennsylvania of all places. Very hot spot now. Feel like movin'? I'm so sleepy!!! 8:10...is it too early to go to bed?

Haydee, I just looked at the forecast and the rain chance is slim (now) for Fri night and Saturday ...<10%! BUT it's gonna be freezin' cold!!!!!!!! Aaack!! Like the 40's!!! Poor brides.

Oooooo!!! A package??? Wheeeee!! I haven't had a package in a long time! Thanks, Suze! I noticed my son has gained weight since living with us (since Jan.)!! Wonder what that means??? Of course, I've been making all kids of high calorie comfort foods for him...he's 6' and weighed about 145!! Looks like he might be pushing 160 now which I am much more comfortable with! He was tooooooooooo skinny and it made me worry. guess that would explain my own weight gain, eh? I know ya'll must think I'm a little nuts to worry about 1.5 or 2# but I'm serious when I say it is almost impossible for me to lose it once I've gained it! So even though I don't have big swings in my weight it just creeps up and up and up a wee bit at a time. I'm TRYING to do better simply by not snacking ...it's a start anyway. I wish TracyKS would come back to us. Makes me sad and I miss her.

food for thought
Y'know Tracy, I don't know what the hell is wrong with us but I can't help but think that SOME DAY we'll get motivated again, all warrior-like, and the best news of all is that the band will be here for whenever we are ready!! So that's cool, right? AND... good lawd...just think....how much you think you'd weigh today if you had never gotten the band??? Let that thought roll around in your brain for awhile!! It's all good!...and we're still awesome, incredible women, friends, wives and mothers no matter how much we weigh! So don't lose sight of what really matters, ok? I love you!! XOXO

Heather - that contraption looks more like a torture device than an undergarment! Aaaack!! Speaking of *$#! posters, is ol' whats-her-name still around? My nemesis and I can't even remember her name...but you all know who I"m talking about, right? (brain like a sieve...argh) Heather & Laura - uh, aren't you supposed to gain weight during pregnancy? Oh yeah, I remember those last two months stepping on the scale and going  Yep, I gotta change my ticker too. :tt2: I wish we could have bottled that enthusiasm we had at the beginning...I could sure use some of that right now.
