  1. susan - I used to do that all the time on fitday.com, but haven't been there in ages. Hope it works for ya.
  2. LOL Pamela .... "back away from the red pen!" too funny! Well, it's 1:40 and I'm still in my jammies. Just woke up from a 2 hr nap and still feel like crap. Oh well. House is quiet. I'm eating some of my pepperocini roast beef and mashed potatoes. Has anybody tried that besides Laura? OMG, it's sooooo good!! I used a brisket that was on sale ($0.99/lb!) and a jar of mild peppers in the crock pot on low for 7 hours. YUM! I need to take a dish or two for our family thing on Sunday and can't decide what to bring. Maybe a slaw or salad of some kind. Any ideas out there? Maybe a corn casserole? These people don't eat green things....I learned that on Day #1! LOL
  3. It seems like I remember that it took a couple of days for mine to kick in...and boy, did they ever. Felt like someone had poked a hot ice pick into my shoulder! Best thing you can do (even starting now) is to take Gas-X to the fullest extent allowed by the direx (like 4x/day?). Move around as much as is reasonable. I would even just rock back and forth on my feet rather than standing still like while cooking or brushing my teeth.... movement is the answer!! Glad you're feeling well! Tomorrow might be a *little* rougher. Good luck!
  4. Did you research gall bladder attacks? Reflux? Esophageal spasm?
  5. Well, I'm sure your doctor knows best, just keep in touch with him about it and watch it carefully. Don't take any Advil or asprin, for sure. At first sign of any changes get in to see your doc.
  6. You don't say how long it's been after surgery, but nausea is pretty common after anesthesia and can take 3 weeks to fully leave your system. Also, the band itself can cause this symptom but should subside as well.
  7. Oh, I see Laura !! Hi!!!! No baby yet?? <DUCK>
  8. Hi Kids - Anyone else notice that we haven't heard from Laura in 32 hours?? Hmmmm?? I have the most horrible head cold...my 2nd this year and I haven't had a cold at all in years prior to this!!! It took me 2 days to do my boss' expense report...LOL. I got snot for brains! TracyinKS - so sorry about the continuing problems with Robbie. Whatever the issue I'm have confidence that you're doing all you possibly can to resolve it. Are the problems mostly at school or are they just as bad at home? I know you've had him evaluated, but have you taken him to a psychiatrist? (I know: STIGMA!!) But we were going round and round in circles with my son/behaviorists/counselors until we went to a psychiatrist.. a week later he was like a new person. I'm just sayin'!! <shrug> Yikes about your band!!!? Glad you got some taken out. It should make a good difference! TracyK - you're quiet! Haydee - I think that I've finally figured out something about what makes me PB vs. not PB: I have a very, very hard time with meat that has been re-heated!...especially chicken...it's out of the question. So maybe pay attention to that and see if it's an issue with you. If I have no choice, I'll take the chicken and literally MINCE it and mix it back with whatever sauce or soup it's in just to get the protein. That helps, too. Michelle - I'm so glad you are gonna get to just chill for the weekend!! Yes, why DON'T you go to your MIL's more often? Judy - Loved your pictures!!! Someday I hope to go too. Pamela - drunk yet? I think it's going to be a fairly quiet weekend. I am going to focus on getting rest and clearing this crap out of my head because I'm getting on a plane for Jacksonville in a week! I do NOT want my ears to explode on the plane for 2.5 hours. OMG, that is sooooo miserable!!! TTYL!
  9. Yep, Gloucester, you're 100% correct. This whole thread is pretty ridiculous. I agree that Patty just started it so she could stand on her podium and preach. Been there, done that. There is one thing good that comes of it all though... I am even more committed to my spiritual beliefs than I was last week. For that I am grateful. Peace out.
  10. Yeah, but WASA, that's the OLD Testament! It doesn't count anymore!! ... well, wait... some parts still do, but not all of it. Just the convenient parts.
  11. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah. Sorry, I forgot. Christians are the only ones with REAL hearts.
  12. Hmmm....kinda like what I've been saying all this time.
  13. Ok, just looked up "sudar".... it has NOTHING to do with "seeing you later"... LOL Hope you had a good workout! Good girl!!
  14. Ok, let's see if my high school spanish can decipher this.... "Ok, girls. I'm leaving. Ya'll have a good night and I'll see you later." How'd I do? Ewwwww! I never knew bunnies were deviant!! Sick bunny!! Bad Bunny!!!
  15. thanks Susan!!! Nice to see you!
  16. I like my God better. I wish you well.
  17. Pattygreen - I'm just curios: How much research have you done about other spiritual philosophies? Do you have any books on your bookshelf that support other faiths other than your own?
  18. I was thinking about this on my drive home. See, this is the problem I've had with mainstream Christianity since I was 6 years old. If during this last election I told my son that I could only love him and allow him to live with me if he voted for ("believed in") John McCain. And that if he believed in (voted for) anyone else, I could no longer allow him to be near me. See? Right there. I just don't believe in my heart of hearts that God operates that way. I am His child and He loves me unconditionally, just the way I love my child. My son voted for Obama. Yes, I was very disappointed but I sure as heck didn't kick him out of the house forever and ever because of it!!! He has lessons to learn. He is a flawed human being. I forgive him for that and welcome him into my home...HIS home....anytime he cares to be here. No conditions. The Bible was interpreted, edited, re-interpreted and culled over and over again to suit the political aspirations of the CHURCH. I just do not think it can be relied upon as THE word of God. The kingdom of God is WITHIN ME.
  19. Patty - The thing is that you express your opinions as if they are bona fide, scientificly proven facts. And no matter how you slice it or dice it, they simply are not facts. All of your arguments are based on faith, not facts. Your faith resonates true for you and that is a wonderful thing. My faith resonates true for me, and that is a wonderful thing. Why isn't that good enough for fundamentalists? Why must they be "right"? I just think their (your) assumptions are immature, ignorant and ridiculously condescending. If I tell you that I think your interpretation of the Bible is virtually meaningless to me, and you argue with me by quoting the Bible -- I hope you understand that you've lost the debate by using such circular logic.
  20. Wow, Laura!! Good news except for that effacement thing...sorry! I was 10 days late with my 1st one...in August...in Houston. I know how each day drags on and on and it can be hard to take! This, too, shall pass. Everybody is healthy and that's the main thing now.
  21. Uh, a teacher's happy hour fund sounds like the best cause I can think of!!!? TracyinKS - Might be acid reflux but all I know for sure right now is that you should stop drinking coffee this morning. Causes lots and lots of acid. You may need to take some Prilosec.
  22. Patty, your argument is seriously flawed in this one regard: you are operating from the position that your faith is the ONE TRUE faith -- and that is simply hogwash. All paths lead to God. NOT ONE PERSON on this planet can know, without any doubt, that theirs is the ONE TRUE path. If you don't have questions or doubts then you are super-human. Even Mother Theresa had doubts....many, many doubts. Even Jesus Christ had questions. This is so flawed I don't even know where to begin. First of all, I suppose technically you could call me an 'unbeliever' by your definition. I don't believe that the only path to heaven is 'through Jesus'. So yeah, I guess that makes me an "unbeliever". BUT I have absolutely no qualms at all about my death and the afterlife. Hey, get this: I don't even believe in "HELL" as you define it! I am just as ready to die tomorrow as you are and am every bit as "sure about my destiny". You could argue with me until we are both purple but I know what I know, just as you do. The thing I find so sad about some fundamentalists is that they are so .... EXCLUSIVE. It's a huge turn-off. I understand where it comes from and that you feel it is justified....but nevertheless....it's not an attractive quality.
  23. I imagine they just send a check when all has been settled, "Enclosed please find ...." God only knows when that will be! Maybe next week or maybe next year! My mom's estate was very simple and it still has not been probated (7 months later) ... we are waiting on one piece of information from Medicare so that the rehab place where she was staying knows how much to refund to us (monthly fees were pre-paid). Medicare has had the case in review for 6 of those months! Your government healthcare system at work!!
  24. OH! Yeah!! The letter was indeed from my aunt's estate lawyer advising me that I have been named in her will, and there was a copy of the will enclosed. There were no specifics as to the value of what I will be receiving, but I doubt it will be a *huge* amount....the bulk of her estate is going to her 2 surviving siblings. I just think it was SO sweet of her to provide for her nieces and nephews that way!! Even if it's just $100, I think that is just the sweetest thing ever.
