  1. I went shopping today with my wonderful husband. We hit Lane Bryant first since I needed some bras. Nothing fit right. All the clothes were too big. What a pain in the ass. We hit the mall and spent 6 hours shopping. I finally found some bras at VS (haven't been able to shop there for so long). Had to take 2 of everything into the fitting rooms to figure out what size to get. I'm everything from a 16 - 20 in normal clothes. Everything I tried on in Womens was just too big. My tops are between a L and XL. I was able to buy clothes at the Limited, Lord and Taylors and Talbotts and everything was 40-60 percent off. Woo Hoo,. My bank account is empty but my closet is full. I love this sleeve.

  2. have had problems with incontinence years ago and had the bladder sewn up...that was 5 years ago....its starting to "leak " again lol....does losing the weight after surgery help with incontinence? or do i need bladder surgery again when it gets too be too much? Thanks

I had this same problem and was so embarrassed my it. Ive lost 80 pounds and it's gone away. Soooooo.happy

  3. Ok im on my 2nd day of full liquids.. everything has been fine. Tried pudding, yogurt, and cream of chickn/cream of celery soup..

I hate both soups.. and i dont do cream of mushroom. Is Tomato Soup ok?? I didnt know if I had to have cream of Tomato or if regular campbells tomato was ok. I cant stand the cream of celery, cream of mushroom, or cream of chicken Soups :(

And im sick of pudding and sweet stuff already :(

    Any ideas?

Stay away from any thing tomato based for at least another month. Too acidic. At least that was my doctors warning. Pls make sure you take a ppi inhibitor, it will help with acid reflux.

  4. Thank you everyone. I really feel like all of this is surreal. I'm now obsessively researching post op sleevers and how to get through the first couple of weeks. That is my biggest fear. I'm afraid of chronic nausea and low energy level. My plan is drinking lots of fluids right out of the gate to avoid dehydration.

Right now I'm facing lots of big life changes and I hope I'm strong enough to handle them all. They are all good, but it is alot of changes in a short period of time.

I know if I don't do anything else, this surgery WILL be the best thing for me and my family.

And to all you veteran sleevers...be prepared to be bombarded with lots of questions from this newbie!

I got sleeved in costa rica and they made me Rice Water. It was a clear liquid that tasted like rice but the most important thing was it gave me energy when I couldn't eat anything. Look online for the recipe (not the dessert one with condense milk). It was a life savior for me. 3 days after the surgery I went to down town and walked for 5 hours around the museums and felt great.

    Take care everyone :D

  5. I have to add my thoughts to this one. I'm 4 months out and have lost 80 pounds ( stalling right now due to TOM). I do have an occasional sweet usually mini reeses cup me and my hubby keep in the freezer. Im also part of a wine club and love to drink wine. I go about once a month to a wine tasting and my husband and I usually have a glass of red for dinner. I don't count calories and just listen to my body what it needs food wise. I do find that since I eat so little I do make much better food choices. I eat more fish since it has more Protein and always make sure to drink plenty of Water. If I drink wine I have extra water to make up for the alcohol. This surgery is the best decision I've ever made for myself and as a self pay the money I spent was well worth it. I've never felt better and since I'm eating so much healthier my husband has also lost 40 pounds since I've inspired him. Make sure you do plenty of your own research and don't blindly follow the advice of a NUT. I've picked up books to read and like to make my own decisions based on a wide range of facts. Best of luck to ya!

  6. How long ago did you have your surgery? How much weight have you lost? What has changed in your life since surgerY? Positive things or Negatives things please. I am going to be sleeved next month and just curious =)

It's been 4 months since my surgery and I could not have imagines such a drastic change. I've lost 80 pounds so far. I started at 330 pounds and I'm currently at 250. my clothing went from a size 26/28 to a 18 on the bottom and Large/XL on top. It feels fantastic to walk into any store and know that those clothes will fit you without have to go to a plus size section. Everything feels like it's a positive as I had no issues with my surgery. After the first two days I was no longer taking any pain pills and was able to return to work the next week. My advice is to walk walk walk after surgery, the more you do the better you feel. The only negative thing for me right now is that I cant have any beer however I've established a love for wine I didn't knew I had ( no gas). I eat anything I want the portion is just so much smaller. My husband has been the best support I could've asked for and I hope you have someone like that in your life. Good luck

  7. So my schedule between work and the pt (due to car accident) has been super busy. It's a little less than 4 months but I've hit my 70 pound loss already. I started at 330 pounds so I still have a long way to go but it feels so wonderful to be normal. Im sorry to say I don't count calories and I pretty much eat whatever I want but since I eat so little i make much better choices. I've started to play tennis with my husband and even purchases a used elliptical that I love. I'm only 2 pounds over my husband and can't wait till I weigh less than him. I started with a size 26/28 and to my amazement I acidently put the wrong size uniform in my bag to change after pt and I fit into an 18 petite. I could not believe it. I ordered that size for the future after my seemstress said she could no longer take in any of my other uniform pants since they would lose the pockets. Ive also found 2 boxes of clothes from when I was smaller so I haven't had to do any major shopping. Another NSV is that I can know wear all my beautiful heals and sandals since my foot has gotten smaller. Everyone at work knows I've had the surgery but they are all so supportive of me and tell me what a great job I'm doing and they even say they're jealous of me. Haha. They've nicked named me skinny which is funny cause I'm still a pretty big girl at 260 but ive lost by double chin and no longer run out of breath just walking around my job. This surgery has to have been the best investment I've ever done for myself and i love reading all the other success stories. So to all the sleeve sisters and brothers out there WE ROCK!
