    Loss for words

My turn around time was fairly quick as I was a self pay, but I was going to Mexico. I thought i was totally okay with everything until about 2 days before I was leaving....started having major stomach problems resulting in mad dashes to the bathroom!!! I got to Mexico and was totally fine though. So calm that I didn't even need the happy pill they gave me to sleep the night before the surgery. I have lost almost 55 lbs since the end of January and am so happy with my sleeve. I went to an Easter brunch with my family and can still eat everything I used as well as what others are eating, albeit small amounts. I have never been successful at any weight loss program and have tried many. I love my sleeve!! I had no problems with recovery and almost felt like i wished I felt worse because then it would make it easier to reconcile having only clear liquids for 10 days and thick liquids for 10 more. I felt great the entire time. My surgery was on a Saturday and I had already scheduled a two week vacation for the next week but I probably could have returned to work after about 5 days. No problems!! I hope that your nerves/anxiety relax enough for you not to be miserable before the surgery and don't worry, you are making the right decision!

4th of July - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???

Starting Weight.......Current Weight...........Goal Weight..........Lbs to goal......... I'll play. I'm going to have to give some thought to where I am and where I'm going. For the Easter Challenge, halfway through i realized i set an unreachable goal and had to re-evaluate because who wants to feel like they've failed on their first goal. Going to think long and hard, make myself reach, but not be unrealistic...

Easter Sunday - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???

Since this is the first time in my life that I have ever achieved a weight loss goal, i was just thinking/hoping that there would be another challenge and trying to figure out what I would set as my goal. I was thinking Memorial Day would be too soon but wondered if July 4th would be too far out?

    Feeling too good too soon?

I felt great after my surgery. And because I am not the greatest with pain, I fully expected to be bedridden. I had my surgery on a Saturday and probably could have gone back to work the next week. Instead I had planned on a week of recovery and a two week vacation of relaxation after that. Was totally fine from the time I left Mexico. I did say I almost wish that I felt worse because it made the struggle with head hunger a lot harder. why did i have to have clear liquids for 10 days? I feel great. I surely feel for the people that do struggle after surgery but wish I struggled a bit more in a weird kind of way.

    Tom turned to Tow

As you said, misery loves company and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with this issue. I haven't had a period for years due to depo shots. 10 days after surgery, hello TOM. Lasts for a week. Two weeks later, hello TOM again and have had it now for a month. Hoping things regulate soon.

    Calories and Metabolism question

I am having these same issues myself and was having the same conversation with myself this morning. Yesterday I tracked 725 for my calorie intake and 300 for calories burned. Same weight this morning as yesterday morning. How is this possible?? I had an easy surgery, easy recovery and I thought the pounds would just fall off. I am drinking my 64 ounces/day and getting between 50-70g of Protein. I have been keeping my carbs at 40 or below. How in the world am I not loosing more than 2lbs max/week? Any advice??

    BMI Calculator

Irene, can you explain the BMR a little? When I put my stats in it said that my BMR was 1879. Am i understanding this to be the number of calories i would burn if i did absolutely nothing but stay in bed all day? If this is the case, and I am only eating 800 calories or less, shouldn't i be losing at a much faster rate? See my confusion? Any help in understanding is much appreciated!! Thanks!

  19. CommonSenseHealth.com has a nice downloadable/printable list of high Protein and high Fiber food lists if you sign up for their mailing list. LiveStrong.com "my plate tracking" is also where i track my food on a daily basis. It's nice because it's free and you can see how many carbs, protein, fat you have had for each meal as well as track your Water and exercise. It has a huge database of foods and also allows you to enter your own recipes and it figures the nutritional breakdown per serving. I have found it to be an invaluable tool. Good luck to you and hope this helps! Sue
  20. Awesome!! I love to come to the site and see pictures of people's successes! It makes me have hope for myself during those moments of doubt (did I do the right thing? is it going to work for me? am i going to be the first person to fail the sleeve?) Your pictures show that it can be done!! Thanks for sharing! You look so happy!!
