  1. ONNNNNNNNEEDDEERRRRRRRRRLLAAANNNNNNNNDD!!!!! I am thrilled to have reached onederland! I have not been here for at least a decade! The first 40 pounds to come off after VSG have been off and back on several times over the years. But I am finally past that point and I could not believe it! Last week I posted a NSV about a towel and finally felt like I too was experiencing some of the successes I was reading that others experienced. It really helped me start to believe that I too could succeed with this. Now at onederland, I am beyond excited and really feel I CAN reach goal. I am getting lots of comments from people on the way I look, no only about my weight, but about looking happy and healthy, etc. I think my increased confidence is showing. I feel so liberated from from the constant negative background chatter that told me that no matter what I accomplish I am such a failure. It is THE BIGGEST WEIGHT this VSG has lifted. I have a ways to go but I really believe I will ge there. Thank you all for your posts, stories and encouraging messages. They have really helped me stay focused, helped commiserate in the downs, and have uplifted my spirits when I needed it. Best wishes to everyone on this journey! May the pounds continue to fall off!!! -- and stay off for those of you in maintenance! Below, evidence
  2. Soup-a-Woman! I love your recipes!!! Do you have ideas/suggestions for a good pumpkin soup?! Many thanks!!!!
  3. Hang in there guys! One day at a time! It's totally worth it!!!
  4. Beautiful NSV Julie! Congratulations!!! and YOU GO GIRL!!!!! Rock that sleeve!!!!
  5. Hang in there NewKat! Lots of us go through this. I have two to three weeks stalls regularly! Especially in the begining! But then there's a big drop. Sometimes they are little drops, several in a row. I've been stuck for four weeks as well. Recently I've been "stuck" right at onederland's door! :-) I know it's super frustrating but it seems from everything I've read here and what I have experienced myself that this is pretty normal and part of the process. Don't despair. I focus on my nutrition, fluids and exercise. Somehow the clothes keep getting bigger and I'm looking better. So as hard as it is, don't freak about the scale. I'm sure others here will post more. Hang in there!!!! Sending good thoughts your way!
  6. Welcome to the losers bench!!!! So glad you are doing well. I was like you. No complications and pretty much sailed through and it's been down hill from there (in a good way). I'm so happy with my sleeve and my progress. I still struggle getting my Proteins in but that's in part because I have a lactose intolerance and most shakes really bother me as well. But overall it's been wonderful. I say all this because I too had, and sometimes still have, that "waiting for the other shoe to drop" thoughs and feelings. That's when I come to the board!!! and get my "postive thoughts fix." LOL Good things can happen! Best of luck. Looking forward to reading about all your progress!!!!
  7. Hang in there Nysha! Each day gets better and easier. Welcome to the losers bench!!!!!
  8. Woo hoo!!! Congratulations!!!! I'm glad this revision has been so successful for you!!!! You are doing so well. Sounds like you'll be at goal before you know it!
  9. Your feelings are pretty normal. I think a lot of us go through them. I know I did and I got a lot of support on this board. It's a difficult decision to make but most of us, if not all of us, don't get there lightly. We've considered all of our experiences and what we went through to get here. It's a pretty radical choice, and one that many people still don't understand and even criticize. Even many in the medical profession! So it's probably quite normal for doubts to creep in here and there. I really like the way Mr. Smith above detailed his reasons. Sometimes we need to do that to remind ourselves and not get bogged down with the negative thoughts that sneak in! I will share that the day of surgery, as I was getting my IV put in, I had this urge to run out straight to my car and drive home and just forget the whole thing!!! LOL I think the only thing that kept me there was the fact I was wearing a hospital gown... and I didn't want to show everyone my butt!!! LOL Best of luck on your journey. Enjoy all your successes!!!
  10. You look fantastic!!!!!! It's hard to believe what a huge difference just three months makes!!! I am also a "Jewel of June" -- in the begining I often felt like maybe these big changes I read about others may not happen for me. But it seems that something great happens around the three month mark. Maybe it's the greater comfort with the sleeve itself, settling in to it, coupled with the much more noticeable weight loss.... I just don't know. But what a great feeling!!!! CONGRATULATIONS to you. You look incredible!!!!!
  11. It's all been said above. I love my sleeve. No regrets. Sooooooo happy!!!!!
  12. Love it! When your shaper can't shape..... cause you're TOO THIN!!!! Nice job!!!!!
  13. Non scale Victory - all these acronyms are so hard to figure out! Glad you asked! Be well!!!
  14. WOW!!! Great loss!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!
  15. Thank you all! This board is always so encouraging!!!!
  16. Congratulations Samnyc!!!! Great post! Thank you for sharing your success!
  17. Thank you both! and YOU WILL GET THERE!!!! I'm just now really experiencing some of the great things I only read about before. I wasn't always sure I would be here and I am so thrilled. I know you both will also have wonderful experiences - NSVs and SVs!!!!
  18. This may be a little lame, but it sure lifted my spirits! After my shower yesterday I needed to run into the laundry room. In the past I've run to the bedroom to look for my robe or threw on some sweats and a t-shirt - basically had to dress. On a whim yesterday I grabbed a REGULAR SIZE TOWEL and wrapped it around me!!!!!! WHOA NILLY!!!!! It worked!!!! It wrapped all the way around!!!!!! AND IT STAYED ON TUCKED ALL BY ITSELF!!! I skipped to the laundry room and then all around the house in my towel!!! I did not know how uplifting a stinkin towel could be! I don't remember the last time I was able to do this!!!! I wish I could have worn it to work LOL ....okay maybe not..... white is not my color Best wishes to all!!!!
  19. Thank you so much ladies. It sounds like this is pretty common. I don't get in to see me MD for another couple of weeks. I'll post anything I may learn. Thank you again!
  20. Hi ladies, I was just wondering if any one could comment on their experiences with their menstrual cycle after surgery. I had a check up, including hormone check, right before my surgery. I am 48 and in perimenopause but my hormones were still okay and my cycles have been regular and "normal." I had one normal cycle after surgery and then they stopped, rather a very light almost nonexistant off schedule cycle and then no more. I am looking for a new GYN to follow up since my usual is not supportive of my sleeve. But in the meantime I was wondering if anyone is willing to share some imput. I would appreciate your thougths and comments. Thanks!
  21. Beaglemama, thank you for your post! How wonderful everything you have accomplished! Congratulations! Best of luck with your trainings and marathons! Enjoy your new life!!!
  22. CONGRATULATIONS on all you have accomplished!!!! You look beautiful and radiant!!!!! Thank you for sharing your journey (ups and downs) and inspiring us all!
  23. I always chuckle at these posts but, seriously, it's not so funny! It's happened to me!!!! LOL Sometimes it has felt like overnight nothing fits... because it's huge! It's so weird! It reminds me of when my kids were growing up and it felt like they grew a couple of inches over night and all their clothes were outgrown! I am always amazed at the human body and it's ability to morph! Happy shopping everyone! :-)
  24. MIne was a good 4 weeks as well. But, as already has been said, hang in there! It starts to come off!!!! I tend to get big drops after the stalls, especially after that first one. I think the body is in total confusion as to what to do LOL. With the support of the people on this board, I focused on nutrition, fluids, and doing what I was suppose to do.. oh and deep breathing for my impatience :-) Best of luck with your journey!!!!
  25. Congratulations Volstagg!!! I look forward to reading about some healthy recipe ideas for sleevers
