    My first NSV

I had my first real NSV (Non Scale Victory) yesterday. I checked my blood sugar yesterday afternoon and I was at 91! I don't think I have ever been below 100 since I was diagnosed over 5 years ago. That felt really nice. My blood sugars have never been better and I hope to start weening myself off some of the diabetes meds soon. Cannot wait!!
  5. If I was concerned at all about popularity, I wouldn't be producing what I do ;)

  6. Just finished a new track with Hector Djhuggie Merida. Jazzy Deep House that is still upbeat. I am digging it. Now time to get some sleep.

  7. Almost 2 weeks on mushies. Started slowly incorporating soft food. Able to eat Sashimi easily. I love raw fish, so to me, I can live off that. I am chewing things to the point of oblivion. I have had no ill effects what so ever. I am just curious to see how many of you started slowly putting in soft food during your mushie stage? I can't be the only one. I realize I have no fill at this point. I am working with a nutritionist and keeping my calorie and Protein intake at good levels (1200-1500 calories and 85 grams of protein). I get my first fill on June 22nd. I would prefer to get less of a fill and really have more of the psychological effects of the band rather than the physical (getting stuck freaks me out). I already can only take in a fraction of what I used to have at each meal. What do you think is a good fill amount to help me with my goals?
  8. I started going back to the gym 2 weeks after surgery which was last weekend. Been to the gym 4 times since, so far so good. Doing 30 min of cardio and 20-30 of weights. Feeling very good so far.
  9. This sensation of being excited and nervous is getting to me. After a over a year of preparing for this, it is now 8 days away. Part of me is thrilled. Part of me is scared. The change of my surgery date (although by just 4 days) it forced me to take a harder look at things. I doubted myself, doubted the procedure. Not sure why. It was a let down for sure, but for some reason it rocked me more than it should...sheesh it is only 4 days really. Maybe it is the liquid diet talking. I have been feeling rather weak the past few days. A little on edge also. Not my usually self. But on the plus side, I am sleeping rather well. I just need to push through. Moments of weakness happen. It is how we pick ourselves up that shows us our character. Sometimes the strongest thing we can do....is admit we are weak.

How long were you on mushies?

Yeah, Hearing all the horror stories of bands being to tight kinda freaks me out.

    Good Breakfast Ideas?

I know you said eggs are hard to get down but you might want to scramble some up with a little salsa or sauteed mushrooms and onions. Seems to help me.
  13. New remixes of my track with David 'Dayv' Prado called Controlled Kaos out today on Beatport.

  14. Tonight. Prince at the Forum and DJing at Tribal Instincts in Beverly Hills from 1-2 am. Gonna be a beautiful night.

  15. Thinking of going to Sublevel on Saturday for Wicked.

  16. I was banded 11 days ago. I feel good. Healing and recovering nicely. Back to work. I was wondering when most of you started going back to the gym. I would like to start going back this weekend but I heard to take 6 weeks off. I feel pretty good to do a light cardio work out and some weights. Any thoughts?

    Mushies

Garlic Mashed Potatoes from Traders Joes. yum! If you like sushi...go to any sushi place and ask for Spicy Tuna straight. not in any roll. Most places have it pretty mushy anyway, and add a little soy sauce and you are in Mushy Heaven.
  18. Waiting for Hector Djhuggie Merida to get here so we can head out to San Fran. See you soon Bay Area. Time for tech!

  19. So I had some lunch with my dad this afternoon. Since I am the mushy part of my diet I went with two runny scrambled eggs and a cup of chili. I ate the eggs fine and a half cup of the chili and was completely satisfied. So strange. In the past I could have eaten that and whatever my dad was eating as well. My dad, couldn't believe the change. I can't believe it. So strange. Tell you one thing though, that was the best scrambled eggs I have ever had Glad to finally get out of the house for a bite...

    So crazy

no only 2cc's in a 14cc band. No fills yet. I think the psychological effects of the band have something to do with it as also a big fear over eating and throwing up. I hate to vomit. One of the worst feelings so I will pretty much do anything to avoid it.
  21. I have moved on to the mushy stage of my diet, for lunch I had a half cup of chili and 2 scrambled eggs. Crazy that this filled me up but it did and then some.

  22. I can't believe how excited I got that I can now have mushy food! Was so happy to hear that. So tired of broth and liquids. So when they put me on the scale I lost 10 lbs in the week. They saw me last week before the surgery and I couldn't be happier. Now mushies for a month and then my first fill....right on.

    10 lbs down....

Good luck to you. It will be great Recovery has been pretty good. Feeling good and it has only been 5 days out.
  24. Lost 10 pounds in one week. Wow.

  25. The surgery went smooth today. No issues or surprises. I was able to get up and walk around pretty much as soon as they woke me up. Had some broth. Had a little tea. Did my upper GI and that came out fine. Was able to leave the hospital at around 9:00 PM. Not bad. 12 hours there. Right now after the pain meds in my IV kicked in, I became tired and out of it...but I feel fine. No nausea or gas pain. For now at least...wish me luck... Goodnight all.
