  1. I have Kaiser and I have relatively low co-pays except for emergency visits which are $100 a pop. But, bariatric surgery is $500 co-pay up front. I checked my coverage right away, first to see if they covered it, and saw the cost then. To me, it beats $10K out of pocket (on the cheap side) if I had to pay for it without insurance. Good luck with your surgery, hope all goes smoothly!
  2. I'm looking at the no baby, then baby, then no baby in the background, LOL! Great job on your weight loss! So exciting!

    Employer Help.

I would definitely not record him without him knowing it. That's against the law - wiretapping. Do you have an employee manual? Look at what it says in there as far as requested time off. He needs to get over it. It's not like you're asking for a month off.
  4. I would assume it's always packed because it's covering basically all of northern CA. I'm sorry you're not losing. I wasn't losing at first, now I am, but I wasn't dieting before I started. Drink all your Water and get a good nights sleep, I think it helps. I think I got lucky on the cancellation thing. I called at 4 p.m. the day after our orientation and they had a surgeon appointment the next day at 4 with my same surgeon! So keep trying, it can happen!
  5. Sweet! Nice to meet you! That place was packed!! How are you coming along? Have you gone to your surgeon appointment yet? Are you down 16 lbs since the orientation??
  6. Kind of a dumb question, but I still can't figure it out. It shows up on my profile, but when I post replies or topics, it doesn't show up. What am I doing wrong? Lisa

    new to site.

Wow David, that is an awesome story! I agree, I will take an expensive problem replacing my clothes! Welcome to our forum. This place is awesome! So many success stories and people to talk to who understand exactly where you are and what you're going through. Keep us posted on your progress!
  8. I'm right behind you friend! Woot woot!
  9. Just a suggestion, we were told by Kaiser at our orientation to not drink anything for an hour after we eat because you stay less full, it just washes the food through you. If you're drinking while you eat, maybe wait an hour and see if that helps you stay fuller longer.
  10. Well, if I would have read further, I would have seen you were dehydrated! I'm glad you got help! What I learned from my Kaiser orientation is they totally stress that you have to sip Water throughout the day or you'll end up dehydrated again because you can't "gulp" down water anymore once you've been sleeved. Be careful and keep sipping! Glad you're feeling better!
  11. I'm thinking the same thing, dehydrated. I would go to the hospital right away. It's sounds dangerous to me. You're job isn't worth your life.

    BMI too low

I'm sorry Bee, I thought I was going to be in the same boat, I just got "lucky" being diagnosed with high blood pressure in May which helped me qualify. I'm 5'9", weigh 250 which puts me at a 37 BMI. I guess they expect tall people to be huge, which sucks because I feel huge enough! Hang in there, maybe a miracle will happen. I'll start praying that it does for you! Lisa
  15. Wow! I am 5'9" and I would kill to get in a size 14 again. WTF is wrong with people, especially that nurse?! I haven't had negative comments, so I can't even imagine. I'd probably just cry!
  16. Ha ha ha! That is hillarious! Are you "lookin' like a fool with your pants on the ground"? JK! Hey, I'll take the convict look anyday. Go to Walmart and buy yourself a couple pairs of jeans, they're pretty cheap there. Congrats on your weight loss too, that is just awesome!!! Lisa

What kind of treadmill do you have?

I've done my research, Sole treadmills are very high quality for a reasonable price, but more expensive than your mass made treadmills. They are supposed to also have a great warranty and customer service. You get what you pay for. I know proforms are ok, but a coworker of mine has had to replace her proform twice because she uses them so much. The have horrible service.

  24. One of my favorite Bible verses is "God has created a plan for your life, a plan for good and not for evil." as hard as it ia for you right now, there ia a reason. Go get yourself a pet to love. I know when I'm feeling down, my dog always makes me feel so much better. Big hugs to you. I hope you fins the strength to move forward with the sugery. You need to look out for you now. XOXO

    BEYOND ANGRY!!!

First, that your boss said this is incredibly rude and mean. Where do you live? In Calofornia you can get paid state disability for up to a year although it won't save your position. I would just document everything from your doctor and check your states discrimination laws. I truly think employers treat obese people different. Now as far as will power, all of us here have learned will power won't do it. This surgery was the last resort for me and I'm sure a lot of others. Hang in there, we're here for you. Keep us posted.
