  1. I hope all is going well with you. I see you have not posted in awhile, will be glad to see some more of your comments on here. I have been off for awhile also. I just recently posted some new photos on here. I used one of them to put my new profile picture. I am now at 181.6 pounds. I do not regret having the sleeve.

  2. I decided to look at the photos again and when I looked at your pictures, they really inspired me. I am having my surgery Dec.2 and I noticed that you were about the same size that I am before having surgery. I decided to check to see if you posted your story and I had posted on your thread 11/09/09, but I read it all over again. You will inspire alot of people with your weight loss. Thank you. You look great!!!

  3. Hello Tiffykins,

I wanted to let you know that a woman that had the bypass was working in the Wal-mart Pharmacy and she showed me some "CHEWABLE SUGAR-FREE CHOCOLATE CALCIUM CITRATE WITH VITAMIN D AND VITAMIN K CHEWS."

  4. The chews taste like a tootsie roll, but do not have sugar in them. You can ask the Wal-Mart pharmacy if they have them or if they can order them. They are in a yellow bag that will zip lock. I like to say"I have now had my candy for the day" after I eat one each day. They are small, but they sure are good, much better than the wafers!!

  5. You are in are thoughts and prayers. I hope that you have a speedy recovery. Please let us know how you are doing.

  6. Hello JoAnne,

I posted you a message in the thread "UNAPPROVED FOR THE SLEEVE---READY TO CRY" I hope you will read it soon. I hope it may help you and your surgeon in your appeal process so that maybe your insurance will approve the sleeve procedure for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  7. Hello , I have been wondering how you have been doing. I want to let you know that your story was a big inspiration for me to get my but in gear and try harder to lose weight before surgery to help the liver and other issues. Thank you!! You have really lost alot of weight.

I just recently posted on "Tell Your Story" on my thread, "Waiting! Closer to having my VSG surgery." Finally all my information has been submited to the insurance to see if I get approved. All the setbacks have been frustrating, but hopefully it was for a good reason. One reason might just be that more time was available so that the Sleeve might get approved. At the time I started It wasn't. I am trying to remain positive.

  8. Wow, you have really lost alot of weight. I am so happy for you.

I wanted to let you know that I posted on "Tell Your Story" on my thread "Waiting! Closer to having my VSG surgery. It is an update. Briefly I will tell you that All of my information has been submitted to see if I get an approval. I have waited a long time for this. I need to look at it as a blessing, because now I have a much greater chance of being approved for the sleeve than I would have a few months ago. At that time KY medicaid was not approving the Sleeve, but now in some cases they are doing so.

Have a good day. Please post some more picture I will be glad to see your progress!!

  9. Hello nouveau-debut,

I posted a reply to you on your thread about BCBS not approving your Pre-approval for the sleeve. I hope it might help you or someone else. It may be difficult to understand for some, but I know that surgeons should understand it fully. Some doctors only perform certain procedures and some only take certain insurance coverage. It would be nice to see more insurance companies understand the advantages with the sleeve being performed as a stand-alone procedure.

Please let me know if this is of any help in your situation. Have a good day!!

  10. I posted a new thread titled, " PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU NEED TO APPEAL (BCBS AND OTHER COMPANIES), You might find it interesting

  11. Today is Feb. 6. I hope you have been getting all the answers to your questions in helping you decide on a Doctor and your decision to have the Sleeve. As soon as you get a date let us know. I do believe that you are really thinking everything through and I hope all goes well with your surgery.

  12. Welcome to the Sleeve Forum. I hope you get answers to your questions. I hope your surgery goes well. I am glad to see that you are doing this at an early age. I am 55 years and I wish I could have had this done years ago. Well I am so happy that I finally had it done on Dec. 2, 2009 and now my journey has really begun. I started out at 257 lbs. a year ago, went up to 266 in July, down to 232 the night before surgery and now I am at 201. I have no regrets. Please keep coming back to let us know how you are progressing. Thank you for starting a new thread. I was scared in the beginning when I decided to have a sleeve instead of the Band, but my fears became less and less after reading more and more postings on here and seeing all the good results others were having from the sleeve. It gets easier at time goes on.

  13. Hello to all,

I am doing ok, I am going through a stall on my weight loss now. One good thing is that I am under 200 pounds, around 195-196 pounds. I was up to 266 in July before surgery and I was at 232 pre-op. I am really happy with what I have lost so far, but now I am going to have to exercise more often and eat much better if I am going to reach my goal of 145. Happy Destiny it is very normal to feel excited and fearful the closer you get to your surgery date. The same thing happened to me, but I have no regrets of having the surgery. The sleeve is a great tool to help to lose weight by restricting what you eat at one sitting. We still have to be careful how many times we eat each day and how many calories we put into our bodies. I am just hoping that I can do what is needed to maintain a healthier weight.

TDELYTE I hope you are doing ok, Have you had surgery yet?

  14. I looked at your pictures and I am glad that you came to this forum. Please tell us your story and let us know about your surgery journey. You are in the right place, this is the best forum that I have ever been on. Best wishes on your journey.

I do believe that God puts certain people into our lives for a special reason. May God bless you!!

  23. Hello kteacher,

I am glad to see that you live in Somerset area. I did have my surgery on Dec.2 and I am doing ok. I was approved by Medicaid to have the sleeve. I have not regretted having it at all. I hope you stay with Dr. Husted. He is such a great doctor. He really cares about his patients. I hope we get to meet up sometime to chat, if you would like. I am planning on going to the next support group meeting that they have each month at the Bariatric Center beside Dr. Husted's office. I don't know what date the next one is on, so I will have to get on his web page and find out. Maybe I will see you there. I wish you all the best.
