  1. Hello , I have been wondering how you have been doing. I want to let you know that your story was a big inspiration for me to get my but in gear and try harder to lose weight before surgery to help the liver and other issues. Thank you!! You have really lost alot of weight.

I just recently posted on "Tell Your Story" on my thread, "Waiting! Closer to having my VSG surgery." Finally all my information has been submited to the insurance to see if I get approved. All the setbacks have been frustrating, but hopefully it was for a good reason. One reason might just be that more time was available so that the Sleeve might get approved. At the time I started It wasn't. I am trying to remain positive.

  2. Hello charitymarroquin,

I have something to share with you and others. I finally got my approval for the sleeve. Also I have a surgery date coming up real soon (Dec.2). I enjoy reading your postings. You have been a very big inspiration to me. Wow 25 pounds in 4 weeks!! Keep it up, you are doing great!! I hope you will post some photos of your weight loss along the way. Thank you for being here for everyone!!

  3. Hello charitymarroquin,

I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! Congratualations on your 40 pounds lost!! Wow and that is only since Oct. 13. I have not been on the forum for quite some time, because we are having some trouble with our internet services and I have been so busy. I am hoping to get back on here more often now. I sure have missed chatting with everyone.

  4. Hello Joann,

You are so welcome!! I hope you will post something soon, as to how these last few days are going for you since your surgery on the 17th. I wish you all the best.

  5. Hello JoAnne,

I posted you a message in the thread "UNAPPROVED FOR THE SLEEVE---READY TO CRY" I hope you will read it soon. I hope it may help you and your surgeon in your appeal process so that maybe your insurance will approve the sleeve procedure for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  6. Hello kteacher,

Did you have your surgery on 11/20 and if you did, what procedure did you have? I sure hope everything is going ok for you. Please let me know!!

  7. Hello kteacher,

I am glad to see that you live in Somerset area. I did have my surgery on Dec.2 and I am doing ok. I was approved by Medicaid to have the sleeve. I have not regretted having it at all. I hope you stay with Dr. Husted. He is such a great doctor. He really cares about his patients. I hope we get to meet up sometime to chat, if you would like. I am planning on going to the next support group meeting that they have each month at the Bariatric Center beside Dr. Husted's office. I don't know what date the next one is on, so I will have to get on his web page and find out. Maybe I will see you there. I wish you all the best.

  8. Hello Ky. hen,

I have not been on here for awhile so I thought I would check to see how you have been doing. I will be glad to hear from you. Please let us know how you are doing. I hope and pray that your family will be safe during this bad weather that Kentucky is expecting today and tomorrow. I hope that you are doing ok on your journey.

  9. Hello Ky.hen,

I enjoyed your story and looking at all your pictures. It is such a great inspiration, and I am looking foward to hearing about your progress. I just loaded some pictures of me and my family BEFORE SURGERY. It took me several days and many mistakes to get them on here, but I was finally successful. I learned alot. I have only been using the computer for a short while and this was a big work out for me. I am glad to have you for a friend. How far is

Upton, Ky. from Somerset KY.? What part of the state is it in? I am going to look on the map to see where it is located as soon as I can find a map of Ky. Have a good day and a very good recovery!!

  10. Hello Ky.hen,

I have some very good news. I have been approved for the sleeve and I now have a surgery date. The date is Dec. 2. I will be starting on my pre-op diet on Nov. 18, so that I can be on it two weeks. I am so excited about it, but so many things are going through my head right now. It is so hard to explain how I am feeling right now. I know that this will all pass and then I will be on my way to losing weight. I am so looking forward to living a longer, happier, healthier life. I am sure for the next 3 weeks I will experience all kinds of emotions and thoughts, but I am sure it will be all worth it in the end. Thank you for being here and being such a great inspiration!!

  11. Hello Ky.hen,

I wanted to let you know that I put an update on my thread on "Tell your story"

Waiting! Getting closer to having VSG surgery!! Hope you are doing ok. Have you put any new pictures on your photo album?

  12. Hello ladiesassie,

Hope you are doing ok. How is it going for you? I have some good news, I have been approved for the sleeve and my surgery date is Dec.2. I am so excited, but I am also going through so many emotions and thoughts right now. I am sure you probably went through the same thing.

  13. Hello Lakiesassie,

I wanted to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. You have really came a long way since your surgery. I enjoyed looking at your photos and I am happy to see that you have lost over 100 pounds.

  14. Hello nouveau-debut,

I posted a reply to you on your thread about BCBS not approving your Pre-approval for the sleeve. I hope it might help you or someone else. It may be difficult to understand for some, but I know that surgeons should understand it fully. Some doctors only perform certain procedures and some only take certain insurance coverage. It would be nice to see more insurance companies understand the advantages with the sleeve being performed as a stand-alone procedure.

Please let me know if this is of any help in your situation. Have a good day!!

  15. Hello TennJenn,

I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! You are really doing so good. Wow, almost 57 pounds lost and you are almost to your goal. I had the sleeve done on Dec.2 and have not regretted it at all. I have lost 16 pounds since the day before surgery. I started my weigh-ins in Feb. of this year at 257, then my weight went up to 266 in July. I was so happy today, because since July I have lost 50 pounds total. (26 pounds before pre-op, 8 pounds lost on pre-op diet and 16 pounds post-op) I hope you post some pictures soon to let us know how you are changing since all that weight lost. Have a good day!!

  16. Hello Tiffykins,

Well Ky.hen I see that you reached your goal before Christmas, congratulations. And Tiffikins I am amazed at how much weight you have lost since your surgery in June wow 111 pounds only 9 more pounds to goal. You are going to start the New Year out just right!! Carolyn24seven be sure to save one of your biggest pairs of pants before you do get rid of any and thank you for your comments.

  17. Hello Tiffykins,

I wanted to let you know that a woman that had the bypass was working in the Wal-mart Pharmacy and she showed me some "CHEWABLE SUGAR-FREE CHOCOLATE CALCIUM CITRATE WITH VITAMIN D AND VITAMIN K CHEWS."

  18. Hello to all,

I am doing ok, I am going through a stall on my weight loss now. One good thing is that I am under 200 pounds, around 195-196 pounds. I was up to 266 in July before surgery and I was at 232 pre-op. I am really happy with what I have lost so far, but now I am going to have to exercise more often and eat much better if I am going to reach my goal of 145. Happy Destiny it is very normal to feel excited and fearful the closer you get to your surgery date. The same thing happened to me, but I have no regrets of having the surgery. The sleeve is a great tool to help to lose weight by restricting what you eat at one sitting. We still have to be careful how many times we eat each day and how many calories we put into our bodies. I am just hoping that I can do what is needed to maintain a healthier weight.

TDELYTE I hope you are doing ok, Have you had surgery yet?

  19. I am so happy for you!! Please read what I posted on my profile:

  24. Wow, you have really lost alot of weight. I am so happy for you.

I wanted to let you know that I posted on "Tell Your Story" on my thread "Waiting! Closer to having my VSG surgery. It is an update. Briefly I will tell you that All of my information has been submitted to see if I get an approval. I have waited a long time for this. I need to look at it as a blessing, because now I have a much greater chance of being approved for the sleeve than I would have a few months ago. At that time KY medicaid was not approving the Sleeve, but now in some cases they are doing so.

Have a good day. Please post some more picture I will be glad to see your progress!!

  25. congratulations!! I bet your husband is very happy for you also. You look like a very happy couple and I hope that this will only make you happier.
