  1. Don't get discouraged ladyblue72! You have done really well thus far! 21 pounds is a big accomplishment! I am currently on week 6 and I stalled from week 3-6 it sucked!! But I tried other things and began working out and now I am losing about a pound per week. It doesn't seem like a lot but ill take it!! It may take us longer to shed the weight but we will get there! Good luck!
  2. That is great! Congrats!
  3. If I were you I would call my doctor immediately and tell them all that you are experiencing. It sounds like you might have some sort of vitamin deficiency. How are you doing in terms of vitamin intake?
  4. I have sleep apnea and also a small breathing obstruction, this was no problem for my surgeon. They just made sure they had a machine set for my usage immediately after my surgery.

    Figuring out what works

I would suggest to call your nutritionist and ask for some guidance. Maybe you should try the eggs without the toast for now. Then try again in a week or so. Give your pouch time to heal, some people recover faster than others so it might be that you are still in the healing process. As far as the Water intake I buy the 1 liter bottles of water and that helps me keep track of how much I am drinking. 2 bottles of the one liter is almost equal to 8 cups of 8 oz. I carry that bottle around like it's my baby. I literally zip all day long except when having meals. I purchased the bariatic advantage Protein drinks but I didn't like them much, the best one was the chocolate. I have had light muscle milk Protein shakes and I find those to taste great. However, after I started eating mushie foods my doctor took me off protein shakes completely. They want me eating my protein. During my period.... I wouldn't really call it an appetite it's more like cravings. I have always craved sweets when on my period and its been hard battling that crave!! But I have had one period since my surgery on 5/2/11 and although I craved sweets I resisted the temptation. Instead I found other things that are healthier and still give you a sweet fix like Jello, sugar free popsicles and I found that the brand Jello also has a sugar free 60 calorie vanilla pudding with caramel that I just love! The pudding is also a good source of Calcium so that is a plus.
  7. Same thing happened to me. I entered a stall at around the same time you are and I gained a few pounds then lost a couple more. I was stuck at the same weight for two entire weeks, then I started working out, counting my calories and protein intake and low and behold stall went away! Just be patient with your body. Good luck!

    Figuring out what works

I usually try to do a light meal in the morning. Maybe a yogurt, just to get my stomach ready for the daily meals. around 11 pm I would have eggs with peppers and onions. It all goes down pretty well. But there are still certain foods that I struggle with. Hard boiled eggs always get stuck so I always stick to scrambled. What are you having for breakfast?
  9. My insurance didn't require any pre-op diet. However, my surgeon recommended a liquid diet two weeks before surgery because this decreases the size of your liver and prevents from any interference during the stomach operation. Good luck!
  10. Congrats you look great!!
  11. I didn't feel much pain at all. The first week felt more like soreness in the stomach area but after that first week the sore feeling almost completely went away. Also, I didn't need to take any pain medication after leaving the hospital because the pain was about a 4 and I only felt the discomfort when I moved around. If I was laying still I didn't feel much at all.
  12. What are you eating? Have you gone for your post surgery first appointment?
  13. Hi guys, I am exactly one month post op today. I have so far lost 28 pounds since I began my journey. 18 pounds were post op and the rest pre-op. I am down to 270 pounds as of today, but I have been at this weight for the past two weeks now!!!!!!!!!!! I have a feeling I am not eating enough, but how can I eat enough if nothing else fits!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are my usual meals: Breakfast: 1 Yogurt Snack: Fruits or Wheat thins Lunch: Baja salad from Wendy's (Chili and greens) I eat about a quarter of the small order Snacks: Fruits Dinner: chicken but I can only fit in about 3 oz. Snack: Jello (most meals can't fit in more than 3 oz.) I have tried other foods like the subways steak sandwich loaded with veggies. I was able to eat a little less than half about 3 inches. (for dinner) but most of my meals are similar to those described above. I am consuming enough Water. I drink 2 liters per day without fail. I am not doing rigorous workouts but I do try to walk more often than usual. I know bad right!! I keep telling myself I will start my work outs soon but haven't yet. I think maybe the workouts my break my stall? How long were your stalls? STALL STALL GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am dying to be in the 260's already! Any suggestions?

    I'm Sleeeeeeeved!!!!

    Welcome to the other side!
  15. It's very normal. I was completely at ease the day before my surgery but the day of my surgery while in the waiting room I started feeling some anxiety, but everything went well and I don't regret this one bit!!
  16. @ To be Thin 2011: Yeah my doctors recommended I have a serving of vegetables and one fruit per day as they feel I need the vitamins and nutrition from ALL of the food groups not just the protein. However, they do still encourage most meals to be high in protein. They also took me off drinking protein shakes, they want me eating all my protein not drinking it. It's really difficult to accomplish but I try my best.

    Stalling at the worst times!!!

I began working out and counting protein! Worked for me!
  18. The first couple of weeks are tough! Just don't give up on yourself and remember you need time to heal. Soon enough this stage will be over and you will be chewing food again. Hang in there... good luck!
  19. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and support. I just want to share with you guys that after taking everyones advice I have finally broken my stall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!! I am down 2 pounds wooo hooo!!!!!!!! Finally in the 260's!! Thanks to all of you sleevers!
  20. @ Meggiep: Thanks for the article it was very informative. I started counting again today! Wish me luck!! @ Raine:Good luck with your stall! I hope that with those mentioned changes you start loosing again soon. @samantha209:Thanks girl! Nice to hear from you too! And you are right, tracking is annoying but I I will start making sure I have my Proteins in! Something has to give! @LR6909: I have a similar Ap on my phone but I haven't been really using it. Maybe it's about time I did! @StacyS: The Ap that I have on my phone is the same as yours, except that I haven't been using mine. @Disney: Thanks! I hope so! Thanks again everyone you were all so helpful!
  21. @mnbsleeve: Thanks for this information, very helpful... I think I am just going to start counting again. When I stopped counting that's about the time I stopped loosing. I really don't think I am eating enough....as before I tried to get all my daily protein in even if I wasn't hungry. I don't do that anymore. I wish you much luck and success with your surgery! You must be so nervous and excited! I was! But don't worry, you will be fine!
  22. @KellyL: I tried the subway once and it was just a couple of days ago, it was the first time I had bread and it was the flat soft bread toasted. I've done the cheese too but I am tired of eating cheese for Snacks so I switched to fruits. I am going to try to switch back to cheese and see if maybe it's the fruits. Wheat thins I usually have once every other day but I just looked at the box and realized they do have a lot of carbs! Yikes! Wheat thins to the garbage!!! @StacyS: I don't count my daily intake of carbs/protein/calories at all. The first couple of weeks I was counting and I used to try to force myself to eat the quantities per day, even though I wasn't hungry. That's why my doctor suggested I should just eat when I am hungry and to stop counting. I will start counting again, hopefully it will help. As far as the subway sandwhich I am not able to eat half of one... I am able to eat half of a half ... a little bit less than 3 inches, which is less than half of the 6". My doctor took me off mushies this week, I haven't had a problem transitioning except when I forget to chew enough and it gets a little stuck. But when that happens I walk around for 5 mins and it usually goes away.
  23. Hi! Everything went really smooth with my surgery. Very little pain it felt more like a soreness for the first couple of days. The second week I was in no pain at all. I am back at work today. My surgeon was Dr. Marc Bessler. He must have done a great job on me! I am recovering really well!

  24. Hi guys! Surgery went really well. I am back at work today with no pain at all! how is everyone else?

    Any Sleever's from NY?

Hi guys! Sorry I have been away for a while. I have been doing really well. The first couple of days after surgery weren't as bad as I thought they would be. I have had very little pain. The first week was just soreness, the second week almost nothing at all. Today I am back at work and moving around just fine without any pain. I wish all of you that are still waiting for your surgery a lot of luck and that your recovery is as speedy as mine was. My surgeon was great!!! Dr. Marc Bessler must have had some real steady hands because I am doing so well.
